It is considered one of the biggest flops in Juventus history. He was purchased in the January 1999 transfer market to replace Del Piero after his injury. In a year and a half he never scored a goal in the league and was often seen trotting around the pitch aimlessly. He wasn't suitable for Italian football. Back in Zaragoza he scored a lot. The suffocating markings and excessive tactics of Italian football were not made for him. He was suited to the open spaces and fast counterattacks of Spanish football.
