FIFA 11 - Creation Centre

Written by Dan Bolas on Wednesday, 7 July 201013 Comments

In a double whammy from EA Sports, a release date and a new feature have been made public knowledge today. Firstly, FIFA 11 will arrive on our systems in Europe on October 1st 2010 (almost exactly 12 months after FIFA 10’s release) with the North American fans being treated to a 28th September release. Perhaps more exciting for editing fans is the official announcement of the Creation Center that is linked heavily with the EA Sports Website.

The story, which broke on FIFA Soccer Blog this morning states that

EA SPORTS unveiled today a new feature called Creation Centre that will provide football fans with the tools to customize content in FIFA 11 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 in new ways. Craft your own football player and create the team of your dreams using a web-based application at www.easportsfootball.com. Create a player by choosing his appearance, accessories and attributes and then create an original team with a distinctive crest and kits, complete with home stadium.

Fans will be able to share their created players and teams with friends and download into their console to play online, in Tournaments and in Kick-Off matches in FIFA 11. In addition, fans can choose player attributes and manage their created team’s formations and tactics right from the web. Creation Centre will launch when FIFA 11 is available in stores on Sept. 28 in North America and Oct. 1 in Europe and Asia.

“Having the ability to customize content in FIFA 11 to the degree where you are creating players and teams, choosing player attributes and managing team tactics effortlessly from the web opens up a world of possibilities of original content that fans will be able to create,” said David Rutter, Producer of FIFA 11 on Xbox 360 and PS3. “Creation Centre will perfectly compliment the official league and team licenses that are the hallmark of the FIFA franchise.”

I feel that using PCs and Macs to edit console games is definitely a step in the right direction. Feel free to leave your comments in the usual fashion, and we will bring you more FIFA news here on Soccer Gaming in the coming weeks.

I don’t understand why it’s from the Web.
I can understand, Virtual Pro and putting your face on the pro needed to be done from the Web but it seems like this could all have been done from the console, which would have been easier.

And I hope this doesn’t destroy what Virtual Pro was in FIFA 10, that was really quite good.

i am a follower of FIFA since 2001.i like FIFA a lot.hats of to the people like u to improve the game better and better year after year.its very difficult task to make the game according to the wishes of the gamers.recently i played fifa 10 p.c in tat i played BE A PRO AND COUNTRY.i was taken by surprise after seeing its realistic and beautifully made game play.i really enjoyed it.i would like to request you to please add transfer period also in it.the player should have a opportunity to play for the different clubs which ever he wants to.it will definitely raise the interest among the gamers who follow MANAGER MODE and BE A PRO mode.

does this mean i cant create a player if i dont have the web?

    Peter,

The reason why it’s from the web is because they can pack limitless features into the application. Removing all aspect of the creation feature means freeing up a lot of space on the disc for more awesome things.

It’s also more manageable if they want to make an update to it, plus the tool can be used in all future FIFA games, because they don’t have to keep packing it in every year.

Finally, doing something like this from a console would just suck. Creating a team in Pro Evo was hard work with just a pad.

My question for the EA sports hierarchy is , why on FIFA 11, are there NO representations of “CELTIC PARK and IBROX PARK” stadia on the fifa 11 game on x box 360, and why no scottish first division ?

You should add the scottish lower leagues and more teams from the other leagues that arent in the game. You should also add more international teams as quite a few are missing.
