Dear SG Visitors.
I'm trying to organize several projects during this upcoming month. The first one consists in receiving as many feedback as possible in order to improve SoccerAccess.net

I will appreciate if you could use this forum to send us any suggestions you may have about our download service. We know many people were complaining about the downloads being cut in the middle of the transfer.

However we've been working in a new software solution that will limit downloads per IP and cache static content (such as downloads) in order to improve the downloads for the majority of people. We're also going to upload our of our important files to FileFront as well and are already working on a third mirror for those type of patches.

We've appreciate any feedback about our Download Zone. We ask you to focus on the service as it's now, as we think it has improved since we installed a caching proxy at our end.

Regards

Well in order this would probally speed up the traffic but for people with slow connections this is a big bonus please still make all downloads resumable if the file size is really big like the World League Patch i suppose 1 connection per IP is fair as several connections is just greedy.

And possibly Zipping all files before you upload them ?

I find that using download Manager programs prevents downloads from cuttin halfway and if it does ya can just resume it so it'll download perfect at some time.

I also found that this sometimes happens because most of the download speed for 1 IP is used during other programs so the speed for some downloads tends to make the file turn to an error if the server is very busy.

i think the download zone should have and order, it's impossible to find anything there, you have have a faces sections for different clubs, and the same for kits. Basically just make it easier to find things.

I think thats a really bad idea (:/) all downloads have the player name or team name in the title so if you want a specific team, just use the search. thats much easier than having a section for each team which would make us have 100 + sections for kits.

the thing is that people, for some rebel reason, dont want to use the search engine which works perfect thanks to the titles we use. :)

Im not sure what you're trying to say here, but if it is that instead of having just one link to the DL zone, it'd be a link to each game's section in the DL zone, that'd be a very good idea (Y)

Thanks for the suggestions
At the moment this is what we've done:

1) implemente a proxy software that will stop bothering our Web server for content that usually loads, such as pictures and downloads.
I still need a bit of time in order to figure out how to limit the bandwidth per unique IP, so that users with fast connections won't open 10 sessions and download files at fast rates (leaving modem users with problems)

2) enable links to FileFront to popular downloads like Kit Raptor 2GK 2.0

3) we've improved our Download Zone overall design, it should be easier to navigate now.

4) removed the popups from all the sites and we decided to leave the popunders (once every 24 hours) at www.SoccerAccess.net only

I will continue reading all your comments.

I will like you to focus on the downloads that are cut in the middle of the transfer, is that still happening?

- Change the front page of the Download zone so that it shows some files at least, and not just a search option

- Remove all the ads, they slow things up considerably, and have also given viruses out and other nasty spyware

- Make the downloads resumable with DAP's (non- filefront files, of course)

- More user friendly - less clicks the better IMO.
