View Full Version : Should he crawl to the cathedral city?
newbie original 11-04-2004, 08:51:PM Deportivo coach Javier Irureta said that if his team beat AC MILAN in the Champions League quarter final after having lost the away leg in Milan 4-1, that he would "crawl on his knees" to Santiago de Compostela the cathedral city located to the south of La Coruna. Deportivo pulled off the greatest comeback in Champions League history by winning 4-0 and totalyl outclassing AC MILAN on the night.
In a recent interview since that game, the Galician coach has said that he will "walk" to the cathedral city but will do it only after the season is done.
What do you guys think he should do? I say crawl now.;)
chatterbox 11-04-2004, 08:55:PM Not only should he " walk " as you say but he should force his entire team of players to do the same....according to me they should do it before the next game which is against Porto....it will add to the legend that was that night in La Coruna.:hump:
Pferd 11-04-2004, 10:23:PM on the one hand, i think its silly to crawl, but on the other hand, he DID say he'd do it.
Hristos 11-04-2004, 11:11:PM He said we would do it if they won, and it happened. Whether or not there was divine intervention, something good happened that night, so he should keep his word and crawl.
Crawl!!! :p
Aveirenses 11-04-2004, 11:27:PM People crawl to Fatima in Portugal, I say he should crawl.
Help? 12-04-2004, 12:38:AM Wise said that if he reached the final he would run naked around the Soho Square, he still haven't done that.
He would get arrested if he did though.:crazyboy:
nor-rbk 12-04-2004, 01:52:AM He should crawl, and when he got there he should crawl back again.
chatterbox 18-04-2004, 02:06:AM The man is 57 years old...there is not realistic chance of him crawling.:kader:
dobrin1980 18-04-2004, 02:11:AM if he dies in result of crawling, maybe he'll be named St. Irrureta;)
Paulo Da Silva 18-04-2004, 02:12:AM i saw 70 year old ladies crawl to Fatima, now a soccer coach, you is normally a healthy person, can't do teh same. He should crawl.
chatterbox 18-04-2004, 02:14:AM Then why the heck would he crawl....walk and drag your players with you Irureta!:hump: By the way, I saw that Pandiani goal again, and man it was unbleievable....the angle was absolutely SICK. What' s even more impressive is the fact that he did it against AC MILAN' s SUPPOSEDLY potent defence!
It is a potent defence. Unfortunately, a coincidence led to the fact that Deportivo were on a great day, and and the 4 defenders, Gattuso and our GK, Dida, played very bad on that day. The only better back-line in the world, is Roma, not because of the players, because i think that on individual terms we're still the best, but they actually hold a better record in Serie A.
claupastore 18-04-2004, 02:24:AM he made the promise that he would crawl, if he doesnt do it he'll look very bad :p
