View Full Version : Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid-The Madrid derby [P]&[R]
Dumisani 15-04-2004, 06:02:PM the game is 3 days away.
this is very crucial, real loss=pretty much bye bye Liga.
Ronaldo looks set to miss this one. i think we MIGHT scrape through by 1 goal. 2-1 Real: Raul, Guti.
my preferred lineup:
-------------------------Casillas--------------------------------------------
Salgado--------Pavon--------Helguera-----------------------R.Carlos
---------------------Beckham-----Cambiasso(H)------------------------
Figo------------------Guti:mrpimp: ------------------------------Zidane
----------------------------Raul-----------------------------------------------
panxoman 15-04-2004, 07:11:PM usually, at the end, atletico always fails ... and without Torres  but with current Madrid anything can be expected.
is Helguera recovered? I think he had some little problem
hala madrid, we have to win this one. Im pretty ronaldo is out of this one. And valencia against betis, wll they COULD lose..
I say Real Madrid 3-2 Athletico Madrid, We always play well against the 'good teams;, or in important matches.
cant wait for this one!
ShearerM4 15-04-2004, 08:43:PM Wow ... A must win the Madrilenos ... that is the Real ones :p
Two points off the mark in La Liga they can't afford to slip up, with Valencia cruising atm.
::Jason:: 15-04-2004, 08:52:PM for once Real Madrid fans have to speculate with other teams opponents. :amika:
I believe that they will come out on top anyway..
enigma 15-04-2004, 08:55:PM I realized everytime Real go down in a shock defeat, they come back and destory their opponents.
4-1 Real.
I could be wrong, though. :p
Voltaic Borusse 16-04-2004, 02:49:AM Too much is riding on this game for Real Madrid. I predict a 1-4 score infavor of Real Madrid.
gagiz 16-04-2004, 02:55:AM I predict a close game by one goal, i think a 3-2 win for Real, but anyhing can happen in derby's.
manutd4eva 16-04-2004, 03:03:AM Real Madrid's woes to continue.:p
PSVFOREVER 16-04-2004, 03:34:AM Draw I think :S Never really impressed by Atletico and Real Madrid isn't that good atm. Still a good game, 2-2
SB9Dragon 16-04-2004, 03:41:AM I would think that Real can outscore Atletico though if Atletico can quickly attack then they may catch Real's backline flatfooted and take advantage of this. Though I still think that Real will win...
2-1 victory for Real Madrid...
We will win
without Torres Atletico won't be that good.
I say 2-0
Beckham and Raul to score
valioso 16-04-2004, 06:58:AM is a derby so you can never tell, but either way, then r.madrid gets barca and deportivo so they will have a tough time to try to reel Valencia back.
Mikey 16-04-2004, 07:01:AM 2-2
Real blows;)
$teauA 16-04-2004, 07:03:AM Will Contra play for Atletico?

Frostwolf 16-04-2004, 08:52:PM Why is everyone referring to Real Sociedad when the match is between Madrid and Atletico?
(H)
-William- 17-04-2004, 01:42:AM hate both teams so I hope its a draw

He is inconsistent when it comes to clean sheets mainly b/c our defense.
i think he will play terrific
BTW is this tomorrow or sunday?
EDIT : IT is tomorrow
Vedran-10 17-04-2004, 06:16:AM Real can't (or mustn't) lose this one because they are Real Madrid ,favourites in all 3 competitions. Two have already been lost.Too much money has been invested in this current team of stars.Madrid have experienced players who will now do their best.Besides ,AT.M. are not a very good team so I think Real will trash Atletico. They were crushed by Osasuna and will be looking to recover from recent defeats and of course won't let go of La Liga easily.
I hope Mejia stays injured so he doesn't play.
I think he is terrible, I might be wrong, but I am not sure what Quieroz sees in him
I hope it is
------------------Casillas-------------------
Salgado----Pavon--Helguera----Carlos
----------------Cambiasso-----------------
in the back
buzzer555 17-04-2004, 06:22:AM 3-2 Real.

Voltaic Borusse 17-04-2004, 09:53:AM Yeah, Mejia is flat out garbage.
This will be Roberto Carlos' 400th match for Madrid
expect him to score(H)

manutd4eva 18-04-2004, 01:24:AM I was looking forward to seeing Torres play.:(
But anyway come on Atletico!:rockman:
(H)
Atletico without Torres looks pretty ordinary. But, Real Madrid without Ronaldo also looked pretty average to say the least, so i'm expecting a draw.
Pavón-R. Bravo are in the centre-backs
Helguera is playing centre-mid
good move by Queiroz i hope:)

Helguera is the best DC you've got there? That's bull**** to me... i mean, he always gives away a goal here and there. I wouldnt play him anymore after the Athletic Bilbao match.
Helguera is a calamity at the centre-back. Queiroz just sucks, this Real Madrid with Del Bosque would be such a better team.

Come on REAL MADRID!!!.
Dream Team 18-04-2004, 03:00:AM I saw the first match of Mejia. He was really good.
It's funny to see how Real Madrid kill their young players. They give them all the responsibility as if they were world class when they have 20 years. Pavon was great, Ruben was great, Mejia was great,... There is too much responsibility, pressure from the media.
It's very difficult to continue the progression when from Real Madrid B(Second division B) you should be the responsible of the first team every week without any fault. Overall for the defenders because with their ultra-ofensive tactic it's impossible to have a good defensive system.
I like Florentino for that reason, his project is a trap for the young players, requesting them that they are the best in the world since their first match with the first team, if they don't then they are crap.
Good luck Portillo, Pavón, Rubén, Mejía,... :ewan:

Boring, Atletico without Torres is nothing.
SB9Dragon 18-04-2004, 04:03:AM I still think it was dumb of Perez to fire Del Bosque even when he won a title last year. IMO that could really end up costing them this year almost as much as not buying a couple top class defenders during the offseason and the winter break....

2-1 Real Madrid.
Ivan Helguera on 78'
Sergio Aragonese should be blamed for both Real Madrid goals.

Madrid play better with 10 players..
ricardo 18-04-2004, 04:53:AM Aragoneses was fouled by Raul just before the goal, it's the referee to blame this time

Not really. A.Madrid had 2 one on one clear cut chances so they should of been in front.
panxoman 18-04-2004, 04:59:AM and probably helguera was offside. Only Sergi is over the goal line.
So madrid will win again thanks to a refferee mistake, although to be honest it deserves the win
Paunovic scores again, the man has been on fire of late. (H)
The GK was at fault in the 2nd goal. Plus Atletico had 3 great chances to score and failed to do that, and play with 11 men against 10.
They deserved to lose, for sucking so much.
NottsSupporter 18-04-2004, 05:08:AM Bah, they never played with 10 men, they had the ref on their side as well...
Ah well, Athletico should have scored atleast one more goal. Let's hope Valencia pick up 3 points tommorow :p
panxoman 18-04-2004, 05:10:AM Game over 1-2
madrid was better but won thanks to a goal where raul commited fault on Athletico Gk and probably Helguera was offside ...

Thanks
Dumisani 18-04-2004, 05:47:AM Olivera didn't play, i think;)
where was Raul today:| he was only involved in the second goal and that was only a foul. raul bravo went on an unbelievable run:o. zidane was not so good in his shooting, Figo just kept shaming the defense into fouling him:mrpimp: we deserved the win, considering we played 48 odd minutes with one less player. although quieroz must be fired and del bosque brought back:p

hanek45 18-04-2004, 07:50:AM The freakin referre sucked, it sometimes benefited Real. Nikolaidis did better than Paunovic. Its hard for me to say this but, Real M played way above than Atletico, they were crap. They played with dissorder, and lost every ball they got. Aragoneses was totally crap, he was responsible of both goals. Solari did great game, like always :). Pavon was playing good, Salgado did almost nothing. Hmm, I was doing something when Ibagaza was substituded, can any1 plz tell me why? Casillas did great in the 1 on 1 against Sergio and I dont know who else. i second that. i really don't see what the hell quieroz sees in him, just b/c he's the B team captain it doesn't make him suddenly ready to come up with the big boys
Drvar 18-04-2004, 04:26:PM nice to see figo's magic in the first goal, always cheers me up :). much needed win for real, and i dont know wtf are you people saying the ref helped real? from the highligths, raul barely touched the goalkeeper, and it certainly wasnt offside. plus they had one player less. great win.
panxoman 18-04-2004, 06:27:PM the GK can't be touched in the small box, so it was fault
About the offside I'm not sure. Waiting for today's highlights, but look at it closely because only sergi is on the goalline
saying that it's deserved because you had one player less it's ridiculous. Do you know that this it's the 4rth time madrid finish the game with 10 players on the pitch. Barça (it's the team I know more about but something similar for other teams) has finished 13 times a game with only 10 players on the pitch ... so being with 10 players it's not an argumet to deserve a victory, or do you think it is?
I'm not saying that Madrid didn't deserve the victory. It was much better than Athletico, but at the end madrid won with a reff mistake ... as so many other times :kader:
EDIT:
From as.com
http://www.as.com/articulo.html?d_date=&xref=20040418dasdai_68&type=Tes&anchor=dasftbA00
"Los jugadores del Atlético reclamaron falta al portero, que no fue, y posición ilegal de Helguera, que parece que sí. "
here it says there was no fault but admits that it was offside
From Marca:

"...encontró con la victoria a su alcance, gracias a un saque de esquina que, obstaculizado por Raúl, no supo despejar Aragoneses"
Here, it doesn't talk about the offside but admits there was fault on Athletico's GK
Drvar 18-04-2004, 08:54:PM i never said they deserved to win because they had one player less. you made it sound like real bought the game or something. and you nicely pointed out yourself, that there isnt a firm standpoint if it was a foul or there was an offside. it is purely up to the ref to make that call, with 10 different referees, 5 would allow that goal, 5 wouldnt most likely. so its not a ref mistake, its the refs decision.
Dream Team 18-04-2004, 09:02:PM Originally posted by Drvar

Anyway, if you see the images then you would think that there is offside, clearly. There isn't confusion. Other thing is what you wish.

I agree the reff could not see the fault and the offside, and that's why he was wrong. Those things happen and are called mistakes.
I just wonder why wrong decissions made by reff always help the same team ... That's the problem.
about the highlights, just in case Dreamteam can not post them here, believe me : if AS.com admits it was offside, it means it was... it's the most "merengue" newspaper (even more than marca)
and about the images of the hot lady, I don't know who she is but some pictures would be appreciated ;)
EDIT:
from Marca
http://www.marca.com/edicion/noticia/0,2458,472101,00.html
"El tanto logrado por Iván Helguera no debió subir al marcador porque se infringió el reglamento en dos acciones previas a la entrada del esférico en el marco defendido por Sergio Aragoneses. Antes de que Helguera remate, Raúl empuja al meta del cuadro rojiblanco. Además, el jugador cántabro se encuentra en posición de fuera de juego cuando recibe el balón que cabecea al interior de la portería rojiblanca."

"Damn, Valencia are gonna score two goals late in the match. I need to give Sociedad a penalty so they can lead by two goals. Then they will draw Valencia so Real Madrid ties them atop La Liga."

I understand it could be tiring for for you,
but imagine how tiring it is , for instance this weekend, to see madrid fans cheering because they have same points than Valencia and they will win la Liga when in fact there's a 4 points gap between what the results have been and what they should have been this weekend.
If they weren't so arrogant and admited that "maybe" they got some help... then it would easier.

I agree with VB, just be quiet with the ref stuff. I could come in here and cry about refs when we lose but I don't. I don't see RUSI doing that either.
It's not the refs fault you guys are 7 points back.;)
