David Beckham could be on his way out of Real Madrid as a power battle erupts at the Spanish giants.

Madrid lawyer Enrique Sobrino is set to challenge president Florentino Perez in elections at the end of the season.

And Sobrino has claimed the England skipper and former Manchester United midfielder may be sold if he is successful in his bid to win control of the club.

Sobrino said: 'I would listen to offers for David Beckham. Beckham has to change.'

When Barcelona president Joan Laporta was bidding to take over at the Spanish club a year ago he tried to use Beckham, then at Old Trafford, as bait to win votes.

United subsequently agreed a fee with Barca for Beckham but the player chose Real instead.

If Beckham were to leave Real he could finish up at Chelsea, owned by Russian oil billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Sobrino, talking of his bid for power at Real, said: 'The option we have of presenting ourselves at the election is getting more solid every day, independent of the results at the end of the season.'

Sobrino would hope to tempt Ronaldinho to Madrid and his election would spell bad news for some of Madrid's 'galacticos', including Beckham.

'Some of them have not done enough and some of them are not doing enough,' he said. 'I would listen to offers for David Beckham and Luis Figo won't continue.'

Another star under pressure would be Roberto Carlos.

'People say he has an agreement with another club, I don't know if that's true or not, but one thing that's certain is he is looking for the contract of his life and we're not going to give it to him,' he said.

They play Beckham out of position and give him Makalele's role where he just breaks up play then says he don't do enough. Pathetic.

beckham doesnt fit in the position he plays. they have figo on the wing, carlos and zidane on the other side, and beckham isnt a defensive mid :). the funny thing is, all of the wingers are going to leave, and when beckham will be needed, he'll be gone :P.

I think Beckham's future is in Qatar... or in Asia.

But what's the deal with Carlos? Madrid don't have enough defenders as it is, why try and make a presidential run AFTER saying you're going to give him the boot?

It's hillarious.

On Figo-if he does leave, I hope he comes back to Portugal for Sporting.

But either way, I don't see Valdano losing the elections, he's brought Madrid the dough, and he's the only reason Madrid got Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo and Figo.

not really surprised to be hearing this. from the articles i've read, the guys said he'd be open to hear offers and talks about beckham, which isn't surprising...and also i've read that he wants beckham to be given a short leash and isn't too keen on him flying back and forth to london all the time. in all honesty, i would expect beckham to be at chelsea next year, which is something i would never have imagined.

as for figo, looks like his days are numbered at real. that's too bad because he's one of my favorites. but i'm not too surprised with any of the news.

I thought Floriento Perez was the president? :crazyboy: If you mean him, I agree with you. As for Sobrino, Figo is getting old and I do find beckham useless, But He really should keep Carlos. I dont mind him kicking figo and becks out, as long as he gets us ronaldinho and joaquin :rockman:
