You can install new boots into the demo just like you did in the early days of Fifa 2004... check my 2004 thread for the step-by-step details...

I actually made two versions of that boot - the Jamaica-flavoured ones you got, and the original Beckham ones. I just imported the wrong ones to send to you... I'll send the original ones to you in a bit, after I've made it for Fifa 2004. Cheers!

...it's a mirror image, pal. The boots are mirrored in Euro 2004, and while an improvement over previous EA efforts, it still isnt perfect.

If you see the left foot, it will look correct, but the right foot is reversed.

Why do the boots not look very clear in game. The textures outside of game looks much better (the total 90 III has a huge bump shadow in it becus of the screenshot you used to make it i think) and yet in game the lighting messes it up, why is it not like beautiful PES3 were the boots look clearer?

That's because the biggest size image used in the boots file is a paltry 64*64 pixels... so it is stretched out and faded in close-ups. When someone comes up with 2GB boots for Euro 2004, they'll look better in the game.

If you're referring to the Phat Farm - those are in fact sneakers, but I felt like doing them as fantasy football boots ( I do that from time to time). I thought that was a tongue-in-cheek question, sorry for the mis-understanding.

I understand how to import the boots, what I would like to know is how to assign one of the 6 boots to a player. In FIFA 2004 you could do it using CC or some kind of DB editor. How do we do it in EURO 2004?

You'd have to use UniDB 2 from www.fifaecp.com and convert it to access, then edit the field "shoecolor" to any number 1 - 5.

I tried that and it didn't work, but give it a go.

I've only seen boots #1 & #2 in the game as well... that is largely due to the fact that 99% of the players have been assigned either boot #1 or #2 in the rosters. I saw maybe 6 players of the over 2000 players in the rosters that were assigned to boots other than #1 or #2, and I tried editing the rosters to no avail.

Why ?

You edited one fsh file and then copied and renamed it, didn't you? The fsh files have a unique identifying number, so if you started with fsh #1 and copied it and renamed it to fsh #2, the game would read the identifier, and determine that you are using only boot #1. Got it?

Anybody use Boot Centre 2 from Socceraccess successfully? I can't import it into the game. Kinda jealous majority of you here have your own boots. I dont know anything about editing so I thought the Boot Centre 2 is the easiest way of doing it. Please help for those who can and Keegan, nice boots since FIFA 2K3. I love to use it for Euro 2K4. Keep it up pal!!

I saw five boots in the game - red, white, blue, black and the adidas ones... but I was unable to open the boot files #3 and #5... ...how come you see all the boots I mentioned in the game? White, Black, Red, Blue and those Adidas ones? The Clet files for the blue and the Adidas must be in there somewhere... right?

Yesterday i found red, black, white and referees boots (zdata02). But before some days i have found Adidas and blue boots in zdata, but now i cann't..

I found two Adidas boots in zdata03..

I can see it becoz i use ea graph to view the file

there r 5 standard EA boots inside the zdata file, the adidas boots r special boots in the zdata file too if i not wrong there is abt 9-10 boots inside

from what i had read from some web site the 5 normal boots will be there, but the other special boots must unlock them then they will appear in the game.

There was a boot tutorial at fifa web portal written by the erstwhile Hrvoje Bajlo... you could try that for tips on how to create boots... otherwise you just try to recreate the boots you like the best way you know how, using the template as a guide. Just start simple, and with practise, you'll improve.

Can you do a pack with all the boots ?

I may do that... but in the meantime, I may release a pack for the demo in 2GB... if anyone would be interested.

Yep... I used the same ones from Euro 2004. You can download Christian's demo boot pack and use his fsh files if you like - you will also get his boots which are pretty nice.

now it works (it works as in the game doesn't crash) but the boots don't look right.they look ok from near (very very near , only in replays you can get near enough to see them) but from far they look like they weren't changed ( they're still the ea ones ).
now if this helps i have the full version of the game and the boots changed were the white ones.i didn't change the alpha file coz i don't know how and i only have 2 bmps in the folder made by fshtool (0000 si 0000-a).i'm opened to any sugestions.

this is what i mean.the closer you get the better the boot looks.if you get close enough the boot lools perfect.from far the boot looks white.

I THINK that you have not put the smaller pictures in the fsh file

in the file there is 6 alphas and 6 normal pics and u need to have all the normal pics in there as the new boots

btw when i import boots my game crashes

i import with bigGUI then do all the processing like it says in the
readme for the fixbigkit

about your problem>after you import to zdata_xx with biggui hit *compress.it's under the *file command in the biggui menu.MAYBE it will work.

does it have to be a 24 bit?

1) For 1GB boots (ea original format) you should extract the *.fsh files from the zdata_02.big etc in uncompressed format (you can use eagraph for that). Open the fsh files with fshtool (that's what I use) and you will get six bitmap images and six alpha files. Replace the images with your new images in the appropriate sizes 64*64,32*32,16*16,8*8,4*4,2*2... all in 24 bit rgb bitmap mode. Then recompile your fsh by opening the index.fsh file found in the folder with the images you replaced. Then import the fsh back to the zdata_*.big using eagraph.

2) The game will most likely crash after you have imported stuff because EA has kindly 'locked' the big files for import. You can unlock them by using the big kit available at www.fifaecp.com at the bottom of the page. The directions are included.

3) FC Bootpatch V1.01 will probably be released soon at www.socceraccess.com and they will all be in 2GB format. That will solve the problem of changing images in the boot file. Just install as per the directions given here, and enjoy.

after long deliberance i finally understand. Here's my prob though: you say when we select the .fsh file and extract them using ea graph, then using fsh tool we get six alpha images, I only get two 3 files alltogether; they are: 0000.bmp 0000-a.bmp and index.fsh file. Am I doing somethign wrong? And one more thing, so these 6 files are all ALPHA files or is the 0000.bmp not an alpha file, i'm confused here, i'm sorry if i've confused anyone. Thanks for the help.

I GOT IT!!! Yes!! i'm so happy, sorry for all the posts, it turns out all I had to do was resize that one file from 64x64---2x2 and just use the same 000-a.bmp for all 5 of the shoes. i'll post some screenies later just to show off how happy i am that i finally got this, thanks so much keegan even if it wasn't direct help, but damn searching sure helps.
