Yes, Ive seen lots of people posting again in the Fifa 2005 requests thread with comments regarding Euro 2004.
So post here your requests now that you've seen what euro 2004 looks and feels like :)

But remember:

READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING (http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&threadid=97524) ;)

The one big thing that i can think of right now is that in euro 2004 you can not power up the through ball. Its a great game but that makes the passing a bit more unrealistic. I want that to be in fifa 2005. thats all i can think of for now.

EDIT: After looking at pes you kind of notice the fluency and depth in motions. I love fifa, if you could include depth like that and even more, make it appropriate with player skills the game will be great. I think thats one of the main reasons people ever buy pes, they play for a while and nothing ever seems to get old, after a few months they can go "WOW!! i've never seen that trap before, or that move" I put a lot more things in the general requests forum. I think this is the main thing, there needs to be much more depth. Right now fifa 2004 is sitting in a 2 foot deep pool (not an insult, just constructive critisism, and a bit of an exaggeration) this needs to be at least 12 feet deap. I should still be interested in this game right before the next fifa comes out.

I want to be able to get carded for using the conservative tackle and I hate the current corner system!

Also, free kicks are still too easy to direct and get on target, that sucks.

We also need to see dynamic weather and perhaps more rules implemented into the game, such as hand ball.

maybe more variety in the boots and balls, also have the official numbers for the premier league and la liga española.

edited faces for players suc as riquelme, juan pablo angel, a better face for ronaldinho and FFS get the license for the holland NT!:f***:

also the CC back for console users, we need it desperately.

I know I said better boots earlier on, but- dont make that a priority... I'd rather see a crappy boot when I score a great goal, then these absolutely astounding boots after i score a 50 yard screamer 3 times.

GOOD GAMEPLAY IS A MUST!!! You guys know you can do better than what you are giving us, so why dont u try the value for money concept, just for once... It might work...
I like that the player can now pull the ball out of the air, but, he cant turn that fast and rifle off a pass to a player, well, some players might be able to, but EA made it so every player can do that,
THE GAME SHOULD HAVE STATS BE EFFECTIVEI dont know how many times Thierry Henry has been stopped point blank, I know it happens some times, but not a lot... Come on. EURO 2004 is a good start, but i want to see a great FIFA 2005. I like the menu of EURO- so keep that, very accessible... MAKE THE KEEPERS AND THE GOAL PROPORTIONAL The keepers are Not 7'9", so dont make it look that way.

They need new stuff to happen when a yellow card is shown to a player bcoz at the moment they only have one scenario and it's really boring now. Also i don't think we need replays when a foul is commited it jus slows down the game and the fouls all look the same so that is boring aswell.

Also better commentry would be heaps good !

Are you talking about the demo? Do you want them to make the file 500 mbs bigger, just so there can be more cinematics. Hello??

Don't worry about it, if you have played FIFa 2004 you will see that there are many cinematics for a yellow card.

I have 2003 and 2004, I enjoyed 2004 for a bit, but recently got WE7 and I enjoy that more, just because of the gameplay. So the only way I could find myself returning to 2005 is if the gameplay improves. I did enjoy 2004 for a bit, but as the other guy said, 50 yard rockers get boring quick.....

fifa 2005 need to work hard with the gameplay. its not all about having a good graphic and licenses whats the point. you cant really controll the player how you want, you have be able to beat the player sometimes only with your pad controller, i don't know it dosn't fill right. if they don't do something with they gameplay les people will bay fifa 2005

I want indoor soccer with more realistic attributes, such as American indoor soccer(which uses hockey style walls around the pitch with 45 ft. arcs on both sides of the field) & futsal soccer(which uses an outstyle field indoors on a wooden floor surface)...

Have indoor soccer & futsal arenas instead of just one indoor stadiums...for instance, take all the arenas in NHL series & put them into FIFA 2005, let the same be done for futsal stadiums, by taking arenas in European leagues from NHL 2004 & put them into FIFA 2005...

Oh, by the way, I would love to see Major Indoor Soccer League(MISL)added to FIFA 2005, too....

There's also a league in Mexico that kind of has that style of play, but is played in a stadium type atmosphere, whereas the field dimensions are like that of futsal style & MISL style all in one, but played in stadiums with open roofs or with roof cover but low stadium walls...I'll post some links when I get get a chance to.

Just a few General Notes
I'm a PC user btw.

1) PLS PLS PLS, bring back the in game Creation Centre (CC). Nothing too advanced, just give us gamers the option to create/edit players and change jersey options (sleeves, numbers, armband etc). A seperate CC can be introduced for the MORE advanced uses, IF anyone is interested.

2) Pls bring back the In Game Transfers. I know that its interesting with the Transfer Windows during the Career Mode, but some of us would like to start a season with our oponents updated as well.

3) IF FIFA 2005 is going to have an International mode (which i DO hope so), pls bring back the ability to drop and call up players for international games. It was one of the features, which i'll think everyone will agree, which made FIFA'98 so successful.

4) Also, pls fix the bug which has 2 teams from the same country playing in the same group during Champion's League Matches.

5) Allow the Goal Keeper (GK) to be injured or booked. The only way u get to change keepers now is if u WANT to n not if u HAVE to.

6) Also, allow GKs to take Penalty/Corner/Free Kicks.

7) Allow non-GK players to play in a GK position and vice-versa.

8) Currently when players are injured, no matter minor or modorate, they still play with a limp and drag. There is no difference. Possibly make the player with a minor injury use up his fatigue meter faster. Also, possibly make it so that when an injured player is tackled again, his injury gets worse. (i liked the idea when injuries were more specific in FIFA 2003 i.e Minor Knee injury, major ankle injury etc etc)

I know that it'll be quite difficult to bring about ALL the changes, but i hope EA can bring about the 1st 3 changes i'd suggested, as these are views which have been put together by 6 FIFA Soccer fans. (ALL 6 of us agreed on the 1st 3 points)

1.)It would be very nice if they could make nice menues again.
2.)The users should be able to put their on music in the game.
3.)Make the subtitiuons realistic again every player should do his own thing when he comes in the game (like doing that cross thing or kiss the ground and then put your hand to your fore head)
4.)After the substitute the player that goes out should get angry or fight with the trainer or something.
5.)When a player makes a bad tackle and the players' hurt they sometimes should fight with each other and the referee has to get them calm down again.
6.)When a player is injured some people have to come and get him off the ground.
7.)After someone is injured the player should shoot the ball out and if he doesn't everybody is going to shout and booo (fair play).
8.)You should have a choice if you can control the goalkeeper manually when someone's shooting or automatically.
9.)They should put Iran's league and national team as well as the other countries that have not been put in.
10.)There should be snow (some places of the field have to get white and wet, and the players should fall down sometimes)
11.)There should be tons of new stadiums.(with futsal)
12.)Champions League,Asian Cup and etc. should be put up.
13.)The ability to create faces.
14.)Fifa fair play prices and other prices (best player of the month, best asian player, best european player etc.)

-Argentinian League
-Better quality for Kits
-More ways to get past the defenders. Not only with Skill Moves but also by changing the speed of the player, or by dribbling...
-More difference between each player's speed. Right now any player run at the same speed. For example, Luis Figo runs just like Beckham, in the Euro 2004 Demo; Or in FIFA 2004 Juan Román Riquelme runs as fast as Roberto Carlos :|
- Improved options to make formations and tactics. They should be more like PES. In which you can make your formation from scratch and move every player around the pitch to place him wherever you want.
- Different ways of shooting animations(for Free Kicks, Corner Kicks). As we all know players like Beckham or Roberto Carlos have their own way to shoot, like posing, etc... (Beckham has even his own Logo about it...), so this should definitively a new feature. Lots of new shooting animation, and only for the very best players.

That's all I can think of, right now.

more national teams would be really nice. almost every nation in the world has a team and that should be reflected to some extent. there are more national teams in Euro than fifa 2004

6) FAce Editing like PES3
7) Champions lEague with groups

artur303
06-05-2004, 06:44:AM
1) longer career mode
2) create a player and face editing
3) players shouldn't go through posts and nets
4) easier to shoot on the ground, in euro 2004 every shot goes in the air and the goalie always saves it
5) get rid of that horrible corner and set peice system
6) less perfect nets
7) less stupid shots like a wide open player making a light volley lob shot with the side of his boot rather than going for a real piledriver
8) more generic faces
9) each club should have a stadium assigned to them, wether it is a real one or a generic one
10) snow and bad weather, it should be calendar based too and country based, not random
11) ability to call up players
12) the ability to get a hand-ball
13) booking and injuries for keepers
14) ability to buy players from rest of the world
15) every club should have a youth team that regenerates players with ability respectable to the club and league, that way you can play the game longer
16) the club should get more respect when they win and stuff
17) but most importantly - GAMEPLAY, i don't care what clubs the game has, if it plays like crap i'm not gonna play it and in my opinion fifa 2004 gameplay is crap compared to PES 3
18) ability to play game with keyboard
19) less perfect keepers, in fifa 2004 i have a feeling that keepers are robots rather than people, same as the players
20) more randomness, for exaple deflections by the keeper and not perfect saves

1) This is the most important. the gameplay in Euro 2004 is alot better than FIFA 04 but yall still need to really work on it more. dont change it all but just add on to euro 2004 and it will be even better.
2) add alot more animations so players dont do the same thing everytime.
3) Change how weather effects gameplay. Euro 2004 when it rains all it does is slow the pace of the game. It should feel like its raining when we control a player, like making it harder to slow down and speed up and make players slip and fall, etc. And how about some snow?? other EA Sports games do.
3) Create-a-player and edit players assecories, attributes, etc.
4) This is very important too. Shooting system, I hate to say it, should be more like WE7. The shoot button should control the height of the shot while the attributes of each player would differentiate the power of the shot.
5) this isnt too important but it would be easy to do. I wish players werent the same size. You have different heights of players but how about weight? Sol Cambell should be a bigger build than Henry and Vieria should be a thinner build.

I feel with Euro 2004, I'm STILL not having to think enough. Yeah sure I can have a struggle with the defence, but I'm not really having to use my brain to try and score. It's a bit more technical then in the past, but it's not a brain testing game.

Stick PES3 on 5 stars and you'll see what I mean, you REALLY have to think!! Not just keep at it passing around to whoever.

FIFA 2005 needs to get into the minds of strategic play. Make me think!

Maybe EA will never make it hard enough, because their aim is to keep the kiddies playing too...(BOOOOOOO!!!!! :kader: ) Sometimes EA, if you want greatness...you gotta take risks.

Using FIFA 2004 / EURO 2004 as a base, here are my top ten suggestions:

1) PRE-GAME
Many varied pitch entrance scenes exist and are done well. Perhaps add some panoramic shots of the stadium (inside & out), and some fan close ups before we see the players. A team lineup display would be fantastic, particularly if the analyst takes the time to run through the players and formations, and if possible the teams' recent form.

2) GAME CINEMATICS
Some generic goal celebrations, some player specific, as already exists and is done well. Picking ball out of net when trailing is needed though. Yellow and red card cutscenes done well but need more variance. Dramatic moments like last minute goals and penalties should be reflected in that manner. Substitutions need cinematics. Manager cinematics would also be welcome, but perhaps unlikely with licensing concerns. TV style replays, multiple stat popups and time/score boxes to be replicated as close as possible.

3) POST-GAME
Cinematics already exist and are done well, but the man of the match should not be celebrating if he's on the losing team. More commentary should focus on the impact the result may have on future games (not in friendly mode). Choice of golden goal, silver goal, shootout, classic extra time or draw should be available like Euro 2004, and should be a default setting in the options for friendlies.

4) TITLE/TROPHY WINNING
The last couple of EA titles have been very poor in this regard. At least forty seconds of commentary and cinematic should be devoted to a title or trophy win, with maybe two or three variances (one for teams who were the favorites, one for the upset winners, etc). Accepting medals on podiums would be a nice bonus, but at the very least, a holding up of the trophy with celebration, and dramatic commentary to reflect the achievement.

5) GAMEPLAY
Too big a topic to cover, and others will do that for me, but game speed option is essential. Slow - Normal - Fast at least, a slider if possible. Make freestyle easier to perform, but only with the players of high skill. Euro 2004 is the best FIFA in recent memory, as through balls and intelligent running are essential. Off the ball was too difficult, stick with the Euro 2004 formula. Except add the freestyle defensive options and the ability to slow down & hold up from FIFA 2004. Goalkeepers should get cards too.

6) GRAPHICS
Done well, not much I can add. But weather is essential. Dynamic weather at that, effecting gameplay. Day & night options paired with weather options are an integral part of any football game. Perhaps default to the weather settings of the home country or stadium for that time of year (based on the console clock) in friendly mode, but with the ability to change it. Also very important is that the big teams are done right. Get the Champions League calibre sides sorted with real faces before worrying about the minor teams. Rotating and electronic adboards depending on the stadium, with one blanket advert at a time in some places (Stamford Bridge an example).

7) LEAGUES
Ten essential leagues - England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Holland, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey & Scotland. After that, localize the leagues in the game. PAL version contains other European leagues deemed important for marketing. An NTSC version for Japan and Korea has J-League and K-League. An NTSC version for North America has MLS and Mexico. An NTSC version for South America has Brazil and Argentina at minimum. World Cup and Champions League style competitions are essential, unlicensed versions expected due to licensing. Perhaps a Euro Super League similar to 2003 Club Championship. Plus custom tournaments with one or two leg, league or knockout options, with as much customization as possible.

8) LOCALIZATION
Commentary and menu languages unique for different versions. PAL has English, Spanish, French, Italian, German at least, maybe Portugese and Dutch (assuming they all fit on a console DVD). NTSC Far East has English, Japanese and Korean. NTSC North America has English (UK), English (US) and Spanish. NTSC South America has English, Spanish and Portugese. But please DON'T over localize - having five available commentaries on FIFA 2003 Xbox added greatly to its replayability. Leave the option there for international gamers. Don't just make an English only PAL version for the Pacific Rim as an example, like my Xbox version of FIFA 2004 (you monsters!).

9) STADIUMS
Somewhere in the range of 30 would be great. A recommended list - Highbury, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, Anfield, Bernabeu, Nou Camp, Riazor, Mestella, San Siro, Delle Alpi, Olimpico, Westfalenstadion*, Gottlieb Daimler Stadion, Arena auf Schalke, Stade Louis ll, Vélodrome, Stade De France, Amsterdam ArenA, Philips-Stadion, Dragão, Luz, Constant Vanden Stock, Atatürk Olympia, Celtic Park, Maracana, La Bombanera, Azteca, Yokohama International, Cairo International, Millennium Stadium (Cardiff). I would have suggested Munich's Olympic Stadium instead of Westfalen, but as I understand it there's some licensing issues there. Perhaps include the under construction Allianz Arena instead.

10) AUDIO
John Motson has been outstanding, but he's been the voice of FIFA for nearly a decade now, including four tournament specific games. Perhaps it's time for a change. The only other match caller in Motty's class is Martin Tyler. As for the analyst, Andy Gray is the most logical if Tyler/McCoist can't be done. The commentary needs to follow the action more closely, and isn't as near to TV style as it really should be. The chants are excellent (FIFA 2003 particularly), as are the in game sounds. I understand the issues surrounding EA Trax and Xbox custom soundtracks, so please at least continue to allow us to turn certain songs off (which you have done in Euro 2004, thank you).

The one thing that really really gets me about FIFA's gameplay is the movement. Its so stiff! In fairness it does seem to get better each year, but it still doesnt even compare to the way you can move or turn in anydirection on Pro Evolution Soccer.

Its factors like these which have lead many to believe PES 3 is better than FIFA 2004. FIFA (or EA should I say) has the licences to make FIFA football the best footballing game without any competitors.

i agree with those body movement. but fifa gameplay was too slow. player spend too much time on first touch, example you first touch the ball and the opponent defender are a meter away from you but they able to beside you after you control the ball and start to move. this is terrible and shouldn't be happen in real life, hope they do made as their slogan said "a great player, must have a great first touch"

and another thing is please please please, player stats do make differents.....

pes has good running when ur jostling, the players crawl and **** and they push each other and lean forward to keep possesion
ive played fifa for 5 years and as soon as pes came out for pc i decided to try it and now i sh it on fifa because i get more fun out of pes than i ever did in fifa

faster interface
-for me the interface was still too slow and not user friendly either

faster in game menu
-in euro2004 it was the most crapy menu i ever see

better and logical first touch
-player are no way to first touch the ball in the air by left leg and shoting by right leg at the same time (gosh~~this happen in fifa2004 and euro2004)

better passing
-i press down and pass, please do pass down not other direction

player stats do make different
-please please please...this is very important. i don't hope see henry or cristiano ronaldo chase up by a very low stats defender. and player stats are too few. a player only can rated by few things??? and also same as keeper

set pieces
-please please again, randomize it. let user control what they want. it was too crap the corner that we only able to choose 3 players in the box and other players in the box just like a stupid, stand and look. freekick please make sense a bit. that is almost impossible to have direct shot in some angle and randomize it. freekick not always mean must direct freekick

keeper
-in euro2004, chip shot and fake shot are useless, the keeper never come out, so it never works. hear nice but useless. if keeper have ai, please make it clever. it able to stop powerful shot in 12 yards but why not he make a easy catch when a player shot from outside of the box with a very slow shot?

computer ai
-please please again, make them clever a bit. different level doesn't mean the player clossing down speed. for me, they still too stupid.

kit texture
-for me, some look really really bad

dribbling
-i hate every time want to get pass a player by using shift key. i rather using arrow key plus sprint to get pass a player than using a shift key. so please make the gameplay more randomize, and their defend are always in perfect position, no matter what you do, they just stand there and look. make me look like a dumb

UCL, UC, WC, EURO
-those cup are important. it is always good if EA can get those lisence. and also group stage bugs, please fix..

boots, ball
-lisenced boots and ball. actually i quite hate EA ball, it look bad. but this is extra. if can get are always better. if can't just work hard on gameplay

weather
-not everyday sunny day

career mode
-i doesn't like the transfer option. the value of the player are weird. and also we unable to change the player number. this is i hated most. training are useless.....it doesn't not affect much or i should said i can't see any changes....

cc
-do hope creation center included

testing
-hope EA test and play the game before release to lesser the bugs. if they found the game was too bored and not worth to have it. please don't release and waste our money...

Please!!!!!!!!!!, put the substitutions at half time back in. It is stupid that I have to wait for the ball to go out of play for my subs to come in. Also, you should be able to sub when their is a foul. It doesn't make any sense to not have this in the game.

PLEASE!!!!!

Can we get rid of the same old huge, boxy style goals with hexagonal mesh and make the goals relative to the stadium and/or the teams colours your playing as.
Its no good seeing the same white coloured net when in real life the stadium your playing in has a blue striped one that isnt as big and boxy (also the stanchions that hold the net up at the back are sometimes different colours and styles).
That sh1tty Uefa Champions League Game a couple of years ago had completely different goal styles in all the different stadiums (it was the only saving grace for the god forsaken "game"!)

Also make the stands in the stadiums as near to the pitch as they are in real life.
All fifas have Old Trafford, Anfield etc. miles away form the pitch behind the goals when these stadiums must be the nearest to the goals in the premiership.
PES3 has got it spot on with Stamford Bridge and sort of with Anfield.

I realise these suggestions wouldnt win any prize for innovation but they are something id love to see in an already classic game (bar some of the robotic gameplay)!!!

ITS ALWAYS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNT!!

I want Greek Championship @ Fifa 2005. And I also want THE NEW PANATHINAIKOS KITS! Fifa 2004 had 2002-2003 kits and the green one wasn't right... Wrong design... Do you know anything about GR. Championship???

(1) Bring back the radar.. why it got taken away is beyond me

(2) Skill moves..
(i) don't random it... skill moves done by skills (well key combinations), not press a button and hope the comp will random something cool..
(ii) if you are going to highlight it by slowing the player down, please slow down the other players in the game too.. in Euro2004, you can go past one player, but then you take forever to regain control of the player and by the time you do, the other defenders are surrounding you.. maybe the skill move not very useful
(iii) be able to chain the moves together.. eg. C. Ronaldo in FA final...

(3) Passing system.. when i press up, i mean up.. not backwards, diagonal, or forward!

(4) Shooting system.. top players do not take that long to shoot the ball.. quit making Henry and Van Nisterroy lose the ball when they are midway through shooting!

(5) Keeper-Goal ratio.. more realism please.. also, keepers are not superman... Barthez cannot fly horizontally sideways across half the face of the goal..

(6) Other members in the team.. please give them some intelligence! Soccer is a 11 man game.. please make the others move/DEFEND instead of sitting there waiting for the user to control them!

(7) Freekicks... noone will directly shoot at goal when the FK is near the corner flag

(8) When i am training/practising in career mode, make it more meaningful..

(9) computer teams buy and sell players

(10) Make players improve and get worse as years in career mode go by.. make one season diff to the next (new players in other teams in teh league, player stats changing)

(11) This is done in Euro2004, PLEASE do not take it away.. stats make a difference, regardless of the difficulty level! It is the most annoying thing in Fifa2004... when a guy with speed of 90 run to defend against someone dribbling with speed of 50.. make the difference in stat obvious!

(12) More stats would be nice, but not vital

Anyways, that was my dozen, hope at least some of them would be implemented in 2005...

I feel that weather is very important since they said they wanted to put it in FIFA 04, thats should be one of the big priorities this time around.

Multiplayer mode with more than 8 players. 8 just isnt enough,
and bring back the league option that u had in FIFA 03

Add the Turkish league, and Argentine league.

Im going to list teams they should add to the game, that were not in FIFA 2004 (not counting turkish teams and argentine league teams cuz i said they both should be added)

AEK Athens (Greece)
Slavia Praha (Czech Rep.)
Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar, and Dnipro (Ukraine)
Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel-Aviv (Israel)
CSKA, Lokomotiv, and Spartak Moskva (Russia)
Crvena Zvezda and Partizan (Serbia & Montenegro)
Hajduk and Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia)
Dinamo, Steaua, and Rapid Bucuresti (Romania)

- Much better gameplay
- I was very happy to see Eyal Berkovic's face, please add more israeli players faces.
- Indoor mode
- Dynamic weather(please add Snow)
- Radar
- More realistic Goal keepers
- A new corner kick mode(that the player will be able to curve the ball, lob it or pass it without that box which tells you what to select)
- An ingame editor!

These are my updated requests....Please think about including them in the game.
Thanks :D

Here's my VERY comprehensive wish-list of improvements for FIFA 2005. Some of the stuff has been said before, but its stuff that matters to me too.

LIST
====

1) Add Holland national team.

2) Add the Saudi Arabian national team. Yes, I know, they're not a force to be reckoned with on the world stage, but they're a major force in Asia that has stayed at the top for the last 20 years. If winning 3 out 5 Asian Cup titles and playing in each of those finals is not an accomplishment, I don't know what is. And I don't think they would charge an arm and a leg like the KNVB either...

3) Oh, please don't get rid of the Turkish national team. I usually notice that as soon as I start getting too happy about something, its gone. And please bring back the Turkish League, or at least two of the other big Turkish Clubs, Fenerbahce SK (current Turkish league champs) and Besiktas JK.

4) Add more national teams in general- there's not enough in Fifa 2004. If EA Sports can't get licenses to authentically represent / recreate some of those teams, put in generic teams with fake names and generic kits. Not the best scenario, but at least that way, all we have to do is remake the kits and retouch the stats, instead of having to replace one national team to add another (like the patch with Holland replacing Urugauy).

5) Speaking of retouching stats, please bring back the in-game creation center where we can fix faces, change numbers and change stats, change kits (or at least colors, in case of generic kits).

6) Ability to buy players from any team / league.

7) Ability to set up custom tournament / league - international or club, group/elimination or elimination, one-or-two leg games, etc. This can still be done in Fifa 2004, with clubs, but I don't want to have to edit the teams in the FA Cup to play a best-of-europe tourney. I like to have the ability to make my own league with all my favorite world clubs.

8) I don't know why, but sometimes, I could have my player facing one direction and i hit pass and instead of passing to the player straight in that direction, it will pass the ball to someone who's standing 25 degrees off that direction. That's very frustrating. And maybe it's just me, but the throughpass in Fifa 2004 seems pointless and completely ineffective.

9) Please make it not as easy to score from 30 yards out. It's good once in a while, but it gets really boring quick, and I get pissed at people who don't even make the effort to build a good attack and just take shots from way out hoping to get lucky (and then they do, like 3 times in a game!)

11) A lot of the stuff in FIFA 2004 is locked into the career mode. I'd like to be able to do all that stuff outside that mode too.

12) When I start a career mode with a big team like AC Milan, I'd like to be playing in a European tournament instead of having to wait one season to earn that right.

13) Add Penalties to practice mode. I know penalty kick techniques haven't changed much over the years in the game, but I'd like to be able to get a feel for it.

14) Also, something is very wrong with team ratings, when 15 weeks into the season, Modena is second in Serie A and Juventus is lying in a lowly 15th. It gets further frustrating that my 4th placed AC Milan beat Modena 3-1 with ease, while Juventus schooled me 5-1. A team in 15th place can't possibly be playing that good. In all fairness to EA Sports, my opponents usually play as well as they should in real life when I have a match with them, but the simulated match results for the computer controlled teams are just too weird. A shock every once in a while is fine.

15) I don't want to have to play 2 other Italian clubs in my Champions League group besides AC Milan. It doesn't happen that way.

16) Okay, here's what else doesn't happen in real leagues, or especially Serie A. You don't play the same team back to back in league match-ups (not talking about two leg playoff games). Usually in a league, you play each team once before you go around and face them again. Back to back matches with the same team may happen in the NBA regular season, but not in European soccer.

17) I'm curious if Football Fusion is just on the PS/2 version, or if it's on the PC version too. I'm in the US, and I bought FIFA Soccer 2004 (which I expect would be the exact same product as FIFA Football 2004, just titled differently for marketing purposes), and I don't have Football Fusion (or even Soccer Fusion) for that matter. Why not?

18) Along the same lines, this one's for the folks at EASports.com who run the US Fifa Soccer website- STOP TREATING AMERICAN CUSTOMERS LIKE THE BASTARD STEPCHILD! We deserve a comprehensive website too. The UK website is filled with news, helpful stuff and better graphics, while the American website is just a drab, near static webpage. I pay just as much money to EA Sports to buy their games, so be fair to us.

19) When my winger / midfielder is going down the wing (running or sprinting, say down the right wing) and I try to cross the ball or lob it in the box with 'A', I hate it when he lobs it straight out of the pitch, instead of crossing left into the box. I mean STRAIGHT!

20) Right after the corner animation stops (when the taker places the ball), I'd like to be brought back to my camera mode. It sucks when the corner is played and the ball is deflected and I am hitting buttons blindly because I don't know where to clear the ball because I can't see the rest of my players.

21) How about some flags on the corners?

22) Some animated substitutions please. I'd like to see one guy come on and the other guy leave.

23) A lot of the music in the game is stuff that people in the US have never heard. How about having music that the average american listens to for Fifa SOCCER 2005?

24) Like someone else said, I'd like to be able to see my entire squad on one screen when I'm selecting my team, instead of only being able to see 8 of them at a time. Also, I'd like to be able to position my players when I choose a formation. Like move them around a little if I choose 4-2-4 so two of my forwards are spread really wide.

25) In career mode, the way the stats section is organized is RETARDED! I can see who my team's top scorers are, but there's no LEAGUE TOP SCORERS / BOOKINGS section. That stuff matters more than what my shooting average is. Again, this is soccer, not basketball. And by default, how about sorting by goals scored? All this stuff used to be in your older games, so it's frustrating cuz it feels like you guys took a step backwards!

26) When I'm seeing the league standings / table, I'd like to be able to see at least the following on one screen (P-W-D-L-Pts). Its nice that you have it further broken down into home games and away games and all, and I don't mind scrolling for it, but the basic stuff needs to be on one screen.

27) I like to be able to go back and see my results from previous games in a list, instead of having to scroll back and forth on a calendar, and also be able to see how the other teams did in their respective matches. In other words, have a RESULTS section.

28) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, make the menus better. Take your pick from any of your older games, I've never had a problem with the menus until this year.A lot of the above can be summed up with: BAD BAD MENUS! MAKE THEM BETTER, MAKE THEM LIKE YOU USED TO!

29) How about DIRECT IP Connect?

THANK YOUS! :)
==============

That was the bad stuff.. Now, here's some stuff I'd like to thank the makers of FIFA 2004 for. I hope we see more of this again next year:

Thank you for that free season of online game playing!

Thank you for bring Perluigi Collina to the game!! Next year, you guys should add that other famous referee, the tall, skinny (lanky) Dutch dude.. I forget his name.

Thank you for the wonderful graphics and sound! And for superbly recreating the San Siro among other stadiums!

I'm sorry if someone has mentioned this before, but I would like to see players going down or holding there stomach if they get smacked with a blazing shot from say Roy Keane. In Fifa 2004 they just stand there like nothing has happened.

You can still do it by passing pressing L1 towards the player who just passed the ball and pass back to him with normal or through pass. I think this system is better anyways.

I have 2 requests, both concerning offsides:
- the offsides should be given when the passer passes and not when the reciever recieves.
- eliminate offside replays, or at least make them optional.

turnandcough
26-06-2004, 12:46:AM
somebody may have already suggested this (i couldnt be bothered to read all the requests) but i think they should introduce a quick free kick option...
for example, when u get fouled, just hold down L1(or whatever) and your player will make shapes to take a quick free kick..it would definitely improve the flow of the game.....not to brag(well, yes to brag) but i think thats a pretty damn good suggestion
agree???

every football game ive ever played seems to have unreliable passing, im not sure if its me or the game but it really pisses me off when i aim at a player the ball will go straight through that player thinking its going to another play in the same direction about 40 yards away even tho that player is blocked... and so many other times it doesnt go where u wanted it to,

why cant they just make it so when u press the pass button the person ur passing to lights up or something then when u let go it passes to them, that way it works normal if u just wanna tough pass quick but if u have more time and ur pissed off with unreliable passing u can hold it down see where its gonna go then if its wrong maybe use arrow keys or something to change it.

Rochester Rhino
29-06-2004, 03:41:AM
I remember in the old fifa it had an arrow to where you were going to pass it, and if the man was covered tight the arrow was red, if he was wide open it was green and if he was being defended not so closely it was yellow. They should bring that back.

or maybe you should just pay attention to wether the guy is covered or not..

nickclubman
29-06-2004, 04:05:AM
Well, I guess passing should require a certain amount of skill, to make the player think, which WILL lead up to rewardable play. Anyone who wants the pass to go directly to the player and nothing but, is quite simply...STUPID!!!

NK.

Dansm
29-06-2004, 05:16:AM
no its not that. i can tell if someone is covered or not its just i try to pass it to someone whos not but then it goes to someone else, i havnt actually played fifa 2004 but ive played euro2004 and plenty of other soccer games and they are all the same. i dont think it should tell u who u should pass to thats part of what playing the game is, just when u choose the right person it should go there... and another thing... a few times when ive been in the box and tried to pass it to a player it took a really slow terrible shot... if im pressing pass obviously i want it to go to another player and obviously if the computer cant see a player where im aiming its obviously got it wrong and should either take no action or pass to the player cloest to where i was aiming. also the computer doesnt seem to realise i cant pass to someoen who i cant even see... so why would it even try? just a few simple things im sure fifa could manage to fix and would make such a huge difference to the game.

I didn't read the whole thread, just some posts. You all seem to ask for better gameplay, but I didn't really read much about how to improve it. here are my requests about gameplay:

1. Bring back the "make player run" option, it was really good to be able to make the receiver run forward so you can make a better through pass or just lob above the defenders

2. Fix the corners, the system it uses is a good idea, but more than half of the plays you can try are held by the keeper (and the ones that aren't are in a position where the keeper *should* go out and hold it, but taking him out manually just doesn't work).
I think there should be the option to use the system and be able to switch corner/FK "modes" just like in older FIFA's (you could use the "arrow mode", the "move player mode" and the "shoot/pass to spot mode"), so there should be these 3 old modes plus the current one.

3. Fix the marking from the defenders, it's dumb how the AI defenders can easily lose the marking of his man, specially in passes like L1 + through pass

4. Get dribbling back, it's stupid that you can't really dribble if not using those freestyle tricks

5. Include "without-ball movements", AI players should automatically move to a safe spot, mostly in midfield (as in real life), not just stay standing in a spot where it's easy to get the pass intercepted

6. Allow the players to move when the opponent is taking a corner, FK and throw-in. It's ridiculous that they can't freely move (except in throw-in's, where the player can move if you switch players),
this is specially frustrating on corners if it's played with 2 players on the same team, one player will control the marking defender, and the other will stay standing doing nothing

7. Make playing through the wings easier and in the middle harder, In real life it works that way, playing through the wings is always easier than through the middle, but in FIFA it doesn't realy make a difference (mostly because it lacks AI player movements, if 2 players play on the same team wing play really makes a difference)

8. Add some more randomness, this in order that plays and matches aren't always the same, with always the same goals, which results in repetitiveness

9. Add sprint usage when in off-the-ball mode, it's just stupid that you can't sprint run when in off-the-ball mode, which results in easily losing the ball (since you're focusing more on the receivers, rather than the player with the ball)

those are my gameplay requests, besides that there's my tactical requests:

1. Add more formations

2. Get IGM's back and allow in-game changing of IGM's

redflower
03-07-2004, 01:37:AM
1.remove the "home/away auto switch". make an auto/manual switching player.
2.fifa2003 pre-match movie is one of the best
3.shorten down the delay time after the player get the passing/crossing ball,it takes too long time to wait for control the player in euro2004
4.improve the strength of shooting,passing,crossing
5.i think all players can have a emergency brake and stop the ball
6.the net,the grass
7.other players should move/run like a real player, bring them a good AI system
8.hate to use shift+arrow to dribble over a player everytime,a basic arrow key with sprint is better and often seen in a game. dont make the player lose the ball so easily.player's reaction should be faster
9.why almost every clear ball is out in euro2004???
10.first touch!!!

Hey

I recently played This Is Football 2004 and there were some things in there that really appealed to be and hopefully we can see in fifa 05 or future fifa releases.

1) Manager Involvement - When the team line up comes onto the screen the managers name is also on their, when you score goals and win games it sometimes cuts to the dugout and shows you the manager and his assistant and their reaction, there is also the ability to edit the manager in the game, looks name etc.

2) There are handballs

3) Fan Responses - When you score or lose/win it shows you a shot of the crowd and they are wearing replica shirts and hats and scarfs etc with the club logo etc on. The crowd detail is alot more than the crowd shots in fifa 04

4) Dive Button - The good old dive button is in this and makes for a laugh as you and the computer can dive looking for free kicks and pens as well as gettin booked for diving

5) Long and Short sleeves - You can set the players to wear the sleeves depending on the weather, when it rains and snows you see long sleeves

I am an avid fifa fan and im not bagging ea or anyone cos i know fifa 05 will be class but if we could tweak these little things into the games it would be pretty cool

cheers

1) More leagues and more ROW teams
2) More international teams
3) Ability to customise players, teams, kits, stadiums, atributes, ect
4) More active AI, more random plays, substitutions, tactical adjustments, ect
5) BETTER MENUS, EASIER TO USE (sounds small but this was a huge pain during FIFA 2004
6) International tournaments
7) Deeper career mode, closer to NHL 2004 but leave out the prestige points system

that's all for now
