View Full Version : W. Samuel wants to join Chelsea.
dannyeli 23-04-2004, 05:27:AM For those who speak spanish...
Basically Samuel has requested Roma to trade him to Chelsea, the offer is about 25 millions and chelsea offers Samuel a 4 year contract and 4 millions per year.
Mikey 23-04-2004, 05:31:AM ..... another of serie a's best join Chelsea. And those fools (fans) complain when Lampard is linked with another club :kader:
I wasn;t complaining I was just trying to spark discussion by going over the top.
Anyway I doubt the authenticity of it until I see it on Chelseafc.com and Skysports, BBC.

Thursday 22 April, 2004
Sources in the Italian capital claim that Walter Samuel has asked Roma to sell him to Chelsea.
The defender has been rumoured to be on his way out of the Giallorossi and he’s keen on a Premiership switch.
Samuel is unhappy with the uncertain future surrounding the Olimpico outfit and it is understood that he has asked to leave.
The stopper has allegedly held talks, along with his agents, with sporting director Franco Baldini.
Reports suggest that the Stamford Bridge outfit are ready to offer him a contract worth £2.8m a season.
Samuel is tied to the capital side until 2008 but Roma could sacrifice the Argentine if a bid of around £15m is tabled.
Inter, Milan and Juventus have also been associated with the former Boca Juniors ace but he recently stated that he would only leave Roma for a foreign side.
Real Madrid have also been linked with the player in the past but they are unlikely to match the proposed bid from the London club.

SB9Dragon 23-04-2004, 06:21:AM They've made soccer better :p
Anywayz I definately hope that Samuel doesn't go to Chelsea for the sake of Inter.
Though if he does go that would probably mean Desailly is finished right? Also who would start? Samuel and Gallas? How about Terry?
What are your predictions "over the top" Rob? (H)
Pferd 23-04-2004, 09:38:AM id choose terry and samuel. desailly should be finished, and anyway he's a thug. gallas... i don't really rate him, but hey whatever, we'll see. i only care if ranieri stays. ranieri is the coolest dude in football.
Bummy_JaB 23-04-2004, 09:51:AM I would play like this
---------Samuel------------Terry---------
Gallas------ -------Bridge
****!
I want him so bad in Madrid :(
henry#14 23-04-2004, 10:26:AM i think he requested Chelsea b/c he knew that they'd offer the most money, both for himself and for the club
I think he is a perfect replacement for the ageing Desailly. Desailly will leave or fade into the background. As for who would you start? Terry would start for sure being the captain. As for Gallas and Samuel? Gallas has made it clear he hates being played at RB but I think you will see him there or on the bench.
Bobby 23-04-2004, 11:53:AM i hope all this happens in front of the world's best keeper Sullivan
SB9Dragon 23-04-2004, 12:09:PM Sullivan.. Sullivan.. Sullivan? That name doesn't ring a bell.. who is he??
Bobby 23-04-2004, 12:10:PM a quality goalkeeper
ricardo 23-04-2004, 01:50:PM I read on Portuguese newspapers that Abramovic and Martin were in Vigo this week to meet Jorge Mendes, the agent who controls the entire (or almost) Porto team. Some people said they were talking about Mourinho (I think Porto's president has already made a complain about that) and others said it was Deportivo's defender Jorge Andrade the subject of the talks.
Both options could be possible; Abramovic doesn't like Ranieri and Erickson seems tied to England for years to come so, who's the best candidate right now? I'd say Deschamps or Mourinho.
About the roster; it's clear Chelsea are overloaded in the middle but they need more fire on the wings (Robben & Joaquin) and a better defence, so Samuel and Andrade could make sense imo.

modena_10 23-04-2004, 02:54:PM i think that real madrid should go for him and solve the gapping hole in their defence, he would be a great fit
