Benfica is interested in the swedish striker Henrik Larsson of Celtic. The forward ends his contract with the Glasgow team this season and will be free the move to another club.

Wasn't April fools like 3 weeks ago?

Larsson will never come to Portugal.

Besides-Benfica already have Nuno Gomes to dive for them.

I also doubt that Larsson would go to Benfica. But you never know...

I would like to see Larsson come to the Luz, and if he has one or two more good seasons of at least 20+ goals, then I'm all for it. However, I'm worried that if rumour becomes fact, that Tomo Sokota's opportunities would dwindle. I like Sokota, and he happens to be one of my favourite players at the club, and I would like to see him continue with the good performances as of late.

It's so sad to see this behavior.

Robben won't go to Manchester United. He would not even consider it. He will probably go to another club like Chelsea.

I don't think Larsson is that kind of player. He should go back to Sweden.

he said he wants to go to a warmer climate eg. spain, hes not the kind of person to play in qatar for all the money

Mikey

who else could he play for. Barca have already stated that he is too old for them, so that possibility is gone. I think Roma would be his best destination, as they can offer CL football.

(thats if they get some $$)

and just because barca supposedly said hes too old for them(though ive heard no reports of that) does that make him ineligable to join any other spanish team? ffs, he said hes not necessarly(sp?) looking to play in CL or Uefa Cup, but it would be nic

i think Larsson will stay in Celtic beacuse he's rather old to change teams. he is the best striker of Celtic and who knows how he will play in other team? He will stay or he will retire. But maybe he will play in one of the Swedish teams.

no, a forward can get the game from behind and a striker is there only to score goals...

There was a huge debate about this before.

If Larsson comes, and by some chance Sporting get Kezman, I'm sure our league will become much more popular outside of Portugal with some people, since these 2 players have a large variety of followers.

Didn't you see the Rosenborg-match in the UEFA Cup? He was sent off for diving twice in the penalty area!

When he said "he" he meant Larsson.

In any case, Larsson does dive, he did so in the UEFA Cup Final, and he also did it in the Semi-Finals against Boavista.

Maybe because he is used to see that kind of forwards in his own team and league.
Larsson is NOT a diver, that's for sure.
And I don't say it cuz I'm a Swede, it is a fact.
Only very Porto-colored eyes would think that.

You're not biased but you say Porto-colored...

You're definitely biased. I dare ye' to find me some SPL followers who aren't Celtic fans who think Larsson doesn't dive. Because it's a very slim chance, my friend. Larsson has talent, but he's becoming a joke.

Forwards and strikers are definately different. But I won't bring it up again.

Anyways, I don't think Larsson would be a bad addition to the squad. But at 33, is he worth the wage he would earn anywhere in the world? Lil' ol' me doesn't think so.

Adriano would do good too. But the real thing, IMO, would be a pure striker, that prolific striker that would solve a game with a couple of headers in in the back of the net. Simão's crosses need someone to make all his work worthwhile in the wings. And Both Adriano and Larsson aren't like that. Jardel WAS.

W8 & C.=)
He scored in every WC and EC he played, he scored against top clubs in Europe, and those goals were not diving penalty kicks.
But he is a Swede and play in a Scottish club so everyone thinks he suck.
He will prove you wrong, that's for sure.
Honestly I have ever heard someone call him a diver before.
