I think it was a fifty fifty ball, the ref should have called it off, the linesman raised his flag for an offside but the ref ignored him, that wasn't a very nice goal to concede in the first minutes of a game at this level..

I agree,I think he was clearly offsides. It still wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game though.

I think it WAS offside. Hierro touched the ball first but then Elber got to touch the ball a little bit before it came to Scholl. But even in the Slow-Motion it was hardly visible, so forgive the ref. It was two great matches of Bayern...

I donīt think it was offside strictly according to the rules. The referee however also has to "judge" the game and "capture" the spirit of the game. No one would have protested if he had given offside. Real could not win this game, even if the situation was called offside. They were to weak on the midfield and didnīt have any options on the wings. Raulsīgenuis was the only really positive thing about their play.

I think it could have went either way, Hierro mad the back pass and it was more off him than the Bayern player. Im not sure if the fact that it was partially deflected by Bayern player makes it off-side, as he made no attempt to pass the ball, it just happened to deflect off his foot. Also maybe the ref didnt see it that way at all, so who knows.
The stupid thing is if you watch the replay it looks like another Real defender could have stopped the ball from going to Scholl but he just let it go by him.
