Hey im sure some of you guys know about brazil keeping that old world cup trophy after winning it 3 times in 1970, But does anyone know if they win another world cup will they keep this one they use now? And do you think its a good idea? I personally think it would be cool if they did get to keep it because it would be interesting to see the new design for the next trophy. But does anyone know if they get to keep it if they win it a 3rd time which maybe the next world cup in germany:D ? :mrpimp:

Nope, the Fifa has changed the rule. If Germany had won the new trophy for the 3rd time two years ago they would've gotten just a copy of it.

Ahhh that's sad to here, I think that keeping the trophy after winning it 3 times was a great way of saying you rule the footballing world (H) and creating a new cup.......:(

the jules rimet trophy that Brazil owns now it's a copy because the original was stolen. this is the main reason of FIFA to have changed the rule.

Brazil in these days lack security in alot of areas. Imagine in the 70's when the country was totally ****ed up by dictators...

It was stolen and melted because of it's gold.

What a nice thing to say about us...
But it has to be said.. Brazil had a poor security then, and from some reports I've read it wasn't that difficult to get the cup and melt it... It was actually stolen in 1983, not in the 70ies like Grunger0x pointed out...
Grunger0x mate, take a chill pill... people can get in awe like supersabre did when they know about this kind of stuff...

Well, it's the truth. It's a lovely country, but we're screwed up.:(

Brazil has been 50% more screwed up ever since Jardel re-entered the country a few weeks ago... Thanks for taking him off our hands though! :p :crazyboy:

I'm still curious to see what he'll do at Palmeiras... Now that they're getting on good form (won 2 games in a row now, plus getting qualification to the Brazilian Cup quarter-finals) he has a slight chance of doing well. Easier to enter a squad when they're on a good moment. Once he was the best striker in the world, and look at him now...

haha:p
that trophy story always makes me laugh....
I love my country!!!!!!!!
Too bad though....but I think in time FIFA will change that rule...when Brasil wins its 10th WC title in 2022 then FIFA will give it to them FOR SURE

Didn't somebody steal the Jules Rimet trophy back in '66? A dog called Pickles found it in someones back garden.
