As E3 rolls around more and more pictures and videos will be available. In order to keep the forum neat, and multimedia easy to find, all members should post screenshots and videos in this thread where everyone can see them. However, only post links to the pictures so bandwidth is not taken up by all the screenshots.

The colour on the players' looks better, like say the arm then the hands, in 2004 the hands would be a different colour from the forearms!

It looked stupid. It looks more realistic now...

Youri Bakker
12-05-2004, 12:11:AM
Yeah, they are the same color now. That's because the hands and arms are on the same part of the texture now, just like Euro 2004.

I don't agree with you on that. Look at how the players' control the ball, it's much more free. Sometimes you can see the player receive the ball and it goes out too far in front of them and into the opposition. That never happens in 2004.

It certainly looks more realistic, I hope it plays it...

After seen the video, i have to admit im impressed.

Im very sure this game will be just excellent, because some things.
In euro 2004..they already fixed some problems like the rockets shoots and som issues with the passes an soon. It was IMO the main concern of the 2004, the easy angled goals.

They will include the long awaited dynamic weather to the game.
After seen some videos about how the ball react to the players and about that first touch (that was needed so much by greta players in 2004), im very sure this game will really be a conestant to the WE series.

Luckily, they didnt lost time fixing the graphics...and are working in the gameplay and the chants. The crowd seem so lively now.

In 2004 they rushed the ame because they were experimenting with the gameplay and graphics...and a lot of things went wrong in that game because of that. This time, they had the graphics done and the base gameplay done too...so it give them time to fix errors and improve euro gameplay , plus new thoings and so on.

I bet you're glad I'm on these forums LOL.

*cough*

Say you start a match and it's nice and dry, but cloudy. Maybe half way through the first half, it starts to rain and gradually gets heavier. Because the rain effects the ball physics it will affect the overall flow of the game and the players'.

Anything can happen, because it dynamic, it might be raining and continue to rain, or it might be raining and stop, and it could happen anywhere during the game.

It would be brilliant to have it in 2005.

Following a similar situation in an NHL thread (http://www.cyber-nhl.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=28984), there's a very short, free clip of that video here:

http://www.gamestar.de/downloads/trailer/e32004/150504_fifa_tsr.wmv

Hopefully someone can find the full version of this - this one is only 20 seconds and shows a player kicking it way too far in front of himself. I hope that the people playing the game in the videos that we've seen so far are really bad at it, because all I see is players losing the ball from bad touches. I want more in-game footage!

nickclubman
20-05-2004, 03:12:AM
Yes, I think the more bad touches on the ball though, means that either that players' attributes aren't good enough for what us the players' want to do with the ball, or simply us as the players' need to learn how to control the ball better.

Either one of these will make the game far more realistic. :)

Yeah I don't understand why EA had to make the generic guy look so damned smug. You just want to punch him.

My review of the Pumas vs America video.

Overall I was disaspointed. It looks very simmilar to 2004. I only noticed one bad first touch. If that's supposed to be new.

I think the game was AI vs AI and the AI never socres with a header in 2004. Looks like the same in 2005. Only two attempts so early to be conclusive.

Didn't see any long range shooting from the AI just like in 2004.
Very similar goal size to keeper ratio. I think the goals are too small so all the goals scored by the AI are to the sides of the goal.

Didn't see any real long balls. Style of play was very similar to 2004.

At least America and Pumas are in the game again. Hopefully there will be more Mexican teams.

QuikZilver
31-05-2004, 12:28:PM

Kinda disappointed with the Pumas vs America video

(i) Looks pretty much like fifa2004

(ii) Goalie still superman when it comes to headers (well either that or the headers miss completely)

(iii) Offence can get past defenders, but since its man vs man, maybe it has something to do with bad skill by the player? What would happen if it was against AI? Also didnt see any skills moves

(iv) The in game commentary is like also identical to Fifa2004..

(v) Passing headers still go nowhere near teammates.. often going directly to opposing team..

ishan1990
05-06-2004, 04:45:AM
about the commentary;
They said they completely re-did it, from scratch. Its just way too early to put in the new one right now. Unless its a broken promise.

I don't know about you, but I'm a little disappointed with the amount of generic faces, especially with bigger teams... Did anyone see the Porto vs. Benfica screenshot?

The only real face there is Nuno Gomes'. Porto's Jorge Costa (2) and Bosingwa (17) both have generic faces. For a team that won the UEFA Cup and Champions League back-to-back, you would think that they would at least put all the right faces in. Porto is my favorite team but I don't like to play as a team with so many generic faces.

Hopefully EA reads this and recognizes that their Portuguese fans would like a little representation, too, especially since I can't modify any faces because I have an XBox. Maybe with XBox live they could make some sort of upload/updating feature with new faces?? Just a thought...

Here are the pictures for you to see what I'm talking about:

it is said that you can self edit or create players (for console too:clapwap: ) with a whole bunch of options. I cant remember which, but some preview article said that you can get very close to the real face! If you dont want to spend too much time creating it yourself, you can input a code (from others who have created the player you want a specific face for) and get that player. I've heard it was for different body types too. Maybe even boots. They tried this in a different EA game but it didn't work, the code was way too long. In this one it hopefully will. I hope they dont take this feature away. It sounds great, especially with all the generic faces in the game. We'll just have to wait for more info.:(

Like ive said in another post here, I remember the WWE Smackdown series was going to have that feature but THQ took it out because it was too long and wasnt going to work right, but comparing that to fifa is like day and night because in a wrestling game you have many many layers of clothing and accesories but in Fifa there wont be too many "layers" just the face, body type, colors, skin tones etc.. then boots, rings, head bands etc... so yea there wont be to many things like so I think it might happen and if it does it will be a very great feature specially for people who dont want to create players or edit they could always come to sites like this one and just use the code. In one of the new screen shots over at the official Fifa 2005 site it did show a player with a head band, actually it was two shots so hopefully we could really customize our players....

The PS2 article sounds excellent, especially the momentum part!

They never usually say it could beat PES, so this is rather exciting. :)

Lets hope our boys make the best football game this year, eh? ;)

i'll believe it when I see it.. previews tend to be positive..

your right about the positiveness of the previews. But the features look to be pretty solid this time around.

The article seems very promissing and i like the part when they say that they are really on the good track... cause this is a magazine that are not biased for PES or FIFA it's a PS2 magazine...

That doesn't matter. EA could've paid them to say all those good things about the new game.
Hope not, though.

or they (the reporters) could have been chosen to do this article because they like fifa. Probably not though

I doubt EA have paid them to do that article. :|

of course EA never paid them. they just giving the honest opinion people.

[mouta-FCP]

Do you think EA payed? OMG you're really ridiculous... why EA would pay to say good things about the game if they even have 4 months to make the game... so do KONAMI also payed to this guys when they stated that PES3 was the best football game?

The reporters wouldn't have gotten any money to write positive comments on FIFA 2005. That's a ridiculous statement.

And for you PES fans wanting to diss the article...suck my balls

Is a known fact that some developers do pay money for good reviews.. well.. not pay money, but if some magazines give a bad score for a game, then they have to pay for the review copies of the games.. but thats usually only on the review.. not on previews.. still most previews are usually positive and dont concentrate much on the flaws..

It's a nice video, but the video basically just shows like actual great moves that happened in real life, and put it into FIFA if you know what I mean.

Nice video. If the moves were possible in-game they better damn well be hard to execute otherwise it'd be like moments of magic.. Over and over again.

a lot of the moves were the same as the first video, except from a different angle. I'm not complaining though. The henry move was sweet.

I don't really see anything new, only the "first touches" of Henry are new I believe. But the animations look a lot better!

Great moves, speccialy Henry one... it would be great if we can make this moves ingame, but anyway we can see better goalkeeper animations here...
