View Full Version : Immortal Arsenal: What was your favorite part of the season?

bertkamp16
16-05-2004, 12:56:AM
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? 38 games, ZERO LOSSES. I just thank God that I got to see this monumental achievement in my lifetime. Even my wife was excited:) Soak it all in, my fellow Gooners. This is a once in a lifetime event.

Now that it's all over and we've achieved the record of records, what was your favorite part of the season? My favorite parts have to be either Thierry's 7 goals in two games (AWESOME!!!) or the rebirth of Dennis the God.

Best goal: Thierry's howitzer equaliser vs Man Utd.

I haven't followed arsenal closely enough to pick out one moment. As a Utd fan you were just hoping for you guys to slip up. You did in the CL and the FA Cup eventually but your EPL campaign has been nothing short of astonishing, absolutely awesome. Certainly a team to be proud of as a fan and a team everyone should pay respect to. Congrats again Gunners.

Please be so kind as to explain to me how in the world losing to a fantastic team in the knock out stages of the Champions league overshadows going undefeated an entire season and in the process breaking an 115 yr old record? Or did you just come in here to try to ruin everyone else's good time? Even the Mancs are coming in here to give props. Get a life...

and, and the other time when Zlatan and Jimi Hendrix descended upon Highbury out of nowhere and each had a hat-trick for arsenal, then Hendrix celebrated with a 4min long bombastic solo at the Arsenal fan's end as Zlatan made passionate love to some blue-blood whore who was sitting in first row seats right in the middle of the field......great times, man. This week's winner features Arsenal star Robert Pires, whose electric form this season has helped propel the Gunners to the top of the Premiership.
But not everyone is in awe of the Frenchman's mercurial talents, preferring instead to focus on the more unsavoury aspects of his game.

Portsmouth fan Olly Holcombe, who drew this picture, says: "This is a re-enactment of Pires' legendary dive against Pompey earlier this season.

He adds: "I hope you dont think I am still bitter?! Actually,I am still very bitter!!

Yes, and Lehmann is a part of that Arsenal team. It's easy to point at a GK and say they cost you a match. If anything, Lehmann helped us overcome our early CL problems. We wouldn't even have made it that far if it wasn't for him. He may have cost us a "few points" but he also saved us from losing points on several occasions. It's all a matter of perpective, Spurs4life...

He makes some mistakes, but nobody says anything when Roy Carroll kicks the ball to a striker, or runs over to the corner flag to clear a ball he has no business being near and gets chipped.
