I just purchased Fifa 2000 loaded it up, but when I start it I get a picture of a goalkeeper making a save and then it completely locks up my machine. I am pissed off, spent the afternoon loading up the latest drivers for my Voodoo2 card, Diamond Sonic Impact Soundcard, S3VirgeDX Video card, and it still locks up. Fifa99 runs fine, NBA 99 runs fine, if anyone can help http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/frown.gif

i've had the same problem but i've fixed it like this:
just copy "crack" file from your cd to hard disc where your fifa2000 file is.not in any particular directory just make sure it is there.you already have the same file but overwrite it.it should work then by clicking twice on your fifa2000 icon.
hope this will help you.

I know this problem - it is caused by the CD copy protection software.
I have got other games that use this (such as Driver, CM3, Carmageddon II, GTA2) which all seem to show a "Loading" splash screen before starting. Many CD-ROM drives can't read the disc, and so the system hangs.
This is a big problem found in new games...
The crack will eliminate this, but might increase piracy...

Thanks guys, that solved the problem.
But why should I have to download a crack when I have done the right thing and purchased a legitimate copy of the game. I can't believe I spent several hours thinking it was a hardware conflict and trying to find
the problem when all it was was the f^%$king copy protection. Some copy protection.
What is EA doing screwing their customers around like this.
