I have Diamond Viper V770 on the Riva TNT 2 chipset 16Mb. When I use this card in 3D support mode, all players are thin like skeletons, though all the rest things concerning graphics is ok.
When I use Software Rendering mode graphics is awfully bad. I tried to install this game on a card without 3D support (S3 Trio64V+, 2Mb), then players are just normal and graphics is better than on TNT with Software rendering.
My question is: do all other 3D cards have also "bareboned" players like they had no seen food for one week, or not ?
p.s. I have all the latest TNT 2 drivers from NVIDIA.

There's a Viper770 with 16MB? Mine's got 32 (not ultra). Anyway, it seems the players are kind of skinny in FIFA2000, so it's probably not your card. It runs fine for me.

Hej,

I have Viper770 (32Mb) - not ultra, the players are skinny compared to FIFA99.

I get a very good performance with 800x600
and 16M colors, howeverat 1024x768 it starts to be choppy a bit. (Which is disapponting to me with PIII-450Mhz and 256 MB RAM)

Dude... all I got to say is CELERON SUCKS!!!!!! I overclocked my 300 to 450 and it was still kinda choppy in 640X480... I have 96MB DIM (not that it made any major difference in graphics speed)

I have a celeron 333 with 128 L2 cache ('mendocino') and a Diamond Viper V770 (not Ultra) with 32 mb.
Using the default D3D settings indeed causes VERY skinny players, this problem can be solved easily by installing the Tweak Fifa 2000 util (see 'utilities'), I play 1280x1024 (17" screen) with triple Buffer enabled.
It runs VERY smoothly and the players have correct proportions now!

Hey the problem could be the drivers, what drivers you use ? and you Sofredor ? what drivers ?

I use the (English) Diamond V770 driver, version 4.02 ( http://www.diamondmm.com/products/drivers/viperv770.html )

But before I started using the Tweak Fifa util my players were skeleton-like skinny too, so I think it's not a driver-problem

As for me, I use the latest drivers from NVIDIA, which I downloaded from their site.
I don't remember exactly its version number, now I'm posting this message from another computer. As I already told, my players are very skinny. Thanks for your help, today I'm going to try Tweak Fifa2000 utility.

Download the latest (3.53) Detonator Drivers (http://www.nvidia.com/Products.nsf/htmlmedia/software_drivers.html) for your TNT2 card. I used them on my Viper770 (32MB, not ultra) and performance was better. And to SoFrEdOr: Well, guess you didn't configure your computer very well. I got a Celeron 333/64MB/Win98/Viper770(32MB, not ultra) and FIFA2000 runs fine under 1024x768...

Then why didn't you get yourself informed better about pros and cons?

Anyway, of course speed depends on several aspects. I myself am satisfied with the Celeron333/64MB/Viper770(32MB, no ultra)/SBLive! combo. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

I don't know what's wrong: I have a Celeron300, 96MB DIM, Viper v770 32MB, SB16PnP (maybe that's it) and I get the choppiest graphics ever! Quake2 doesn't get better than 40 fps... and in fifa2k, I play against my computer and against the other team at the same time! I need some help here, because I don't know what's wrong...

- Maybe you've got a lot of programs running in the background in Windoze (lots of them are in your system tray, next to the clock)

- Try downloading those Detonator 3.53 Drivers (http://www.nvidia.com/Products.nsf/htmlmedia/software_drivers.html). They're better than the Diamond drivers and improved graphics a bit for me.

- If above fails, maybe you should try and re-install Windoze from scratch.

I did all of above and it still doesn't work as it should. I should also mention that my CD drive is 8X speed...

Hmmm, I'm not at home right now, but I think most software requires a 4x or higher speed CD-ROM drive. But it could be the problem. I got a 40x speed...

To SoFrEdOr:
First of all, what kind of Windows do you
use ?
If 95, then install OSR2 upgrade that will allow to see AGP.
If 98, install the latest AGP drivers from your motherboard manufacturer, really helps.
I am sure that that's not because of your 8x speed CD-drive.
Good Luck !

I did that AGP thing you guys said... it is good now, even better, cause I overclocked my celeron to 375mhz... THANX AGAIN :-)
