I dont think its all that big of a deal that United won the Treble. Why? Well first of all except for Arsenal in the Semi Final they really didn't have to play against a worth competitor.

Newcastle United is not up to United's playing level.

Second for the league in England there are only 2 or 3 real competitors unlike Italy or Spain where half the teams are challanging for their respective title.

Other than Arsenal and Chelesa no team could even threaten for the league title.

Last, if you wanna talk about the luckiest team ever you must remember United last year in Champions league!

Inter vs Man U Diego Simeone goal called back.
Second Leg Ivan Zamarano denied an obvious penalty.

Against Juve 90th minute equalizer then they come back to win against one of the toughest defensive teams in the world. If only Del Piero were there!

And last the biggest fluke of all 2 goals in extra time against Bayern!

For those of you that say United last year were the greatest ever you better wake up, the FA Cup is so lame that United doesn't even wanna take part in it! They already know there is no competition in England so they wanna go for the World Club Cup.

The treble means little especially when you make it to the finals on every quarter century.

Juppalz10 - You seem to know a lot bout the English game and the league. Funny that you didn't catch that currently there are quite a few teams challenging for top position. Chelsea are currently 9th. Pool, Spurs and Leicester are above them.
Now let's see the strength of the serie a - Torino, Bologna, Perugia, Bari, LEcce, Reggina, Verona, Piacenza, Venezia and Cagliari. WOW !!! They surely challenge regularly for the title don't they ??

Actually I was referring to the other half of Italy AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Parma, Lazio AS Roma, Florentina.

And I was referring to last year with Man U Arsenal and Chelsea the only real contestents.

Who expected Lazio to beat AS Roma, no one. If Manchester or Arsenal play a team like West Ham 90% of the team the result is predictable.

Manchester or Arsenal or Chelsea (because they have a few games in hand) will win the league.

I favor the Italian league but I don't think anything can be taken away from last year's Man Utd. side. Every team has some luck along the way- but it's all relative and luck may be a bad word to use. United could only play the teams placed before them and while most teams would've given up against a strong defensive side like Bayern Munich in the final minutes of the final, they fought like hell. They may not be "the best" of all-time but they certainly deserve a lot of credit. At the same time, I think the Juve squad that went to 3 finals in a row this decade (winning once) is probably the best club side of the last 10 years.

Juppal,
Man your one dumb f@ck.
What last seasons manu team was phenominal. They could perhaps be the greatest assemble is football history. Your obviously F@cking clueless when it comes to football, if you canno`t see how hard and how great an achievement this was.
They were the perfect combination of players and if buyern was a fluke then how come Beckham destroyes every F@cking team with that magic right boot.

PS:I hate Man Utd, but anyone can see what a great team they are.

I Bayern cam 2nd in the league last season, then they would have won the Silver treble. Because they won silver in the Champions League and the Germans Cup. I know this has nothing much to do with the topic, but I was surprized how good they were last season, I really thought Arsenal would win in teh FA Cup semi-final and Bayern would win the Champions League, cause they were much better in the Final.

Juppal when you say things like this you lose crediblity and your knowledge starts to look small.
By the way you forgot to mention that they also got lucky in FA cup when they beat Liverpool on last minute goal, and Schmeichel had to save a penalty off Bergkamp, and Giggs scored the winner in extra time while Man U was a man down. Some great coach onece said that in sports luck was another word for hard work and sweat.

Vexapor: the best clubside this decade is not Juventus or Ajax as some say but AC Milan, just look at what they accomplished this decade:
Italian league champs 92-94, 96, 99
Champions Cup: 90, 94
Champions Cup finalists:93,95
91/92 season undefeated in league play
58 consecutive games without a loss from 91 to March 93, which is Italian league record.

When you look at these honors no other team really comes close.

Polish Power,

I stand corrected. You are right- Milan were the best and perhaps Juve, second. I guess I was just thinking of how it is more remarkable to make it to 3 EC finals in a row, than for an English side to win the treble. Of course, I'm certain there are those who will debate that.
