View Full Version : Will FIFA 2005 have the in-depth career mode we are expecting?
johncmcleod 28-05-2004, 09:57:AM I am begging for a FIFA career mode where players age and retire, naturally improve and deteriorate with age (without this training nonsense), a career that lasts a long time, a better financial system where the players have contracts that expire, and most importantly, a youth talent system. Basically, a Madden Style Franchise (and the owner mode would be nice, with the ability to adjust ticket and merchandise prices, build a new stadium, land sponsorship deals, etc.)
Will we get this? As far as I know, EA hasn't spelled it out. All they said was, in-depth career mode. If they will have what we are looking for, then why aren't they advertising it?
Well, please respond to the poll and tell us what you think.
Rochester Rhino 28-05-2004, 10:10:AM You should just buy fifa and tcm and use the football fusion.
johncmcleod 28-05-2004, 10:33:AM Wait a minute, hold on,
YOU MEAN I CAN DO ALL THIS WITH FIFA 2004????!!!!!!
HOW?!?!?!?!?!
Rochester Rhino 28-05-2004, 11:07:AM You buy TCM 2004 and control every single aspect of the team, then on game day you import your team into fifa 2004 with football fusion to play the game because you can't play the game in tcm, then once your done playing the game, it will put the result into your tcm season.
shrekiejai 28-05-2004, 05:29:PM it may cost twice as much...but its alot better than Fifa2004's version of career... and i think there is a reason why Fifa04's career is so poor...pr else who would buy TCM?
expect similar in 05.. unless if EA decides to scrap TCM...
Rochester Rhino 28-05-2004, 07:27:PM i think it's a great way to make more money a long with the EA Bio.
ishan1990 29-05-2004, 04:30:AM i really cant afford that. Its a good idea to make money, not a very good idea to satisfy customers
valioso 29-05-2004, 05:02:AM i think ea proved long ago, they dont care about their customers.
johncmcleod 29-05-2004, 07:33:AM How much does TCM cost? (In American dollars preferably)
And can I get it in the states?
Rochester Rhino 29-05-2004, 08:41:AM I think it costs $30, and you can't get it in the states so you have to buy it online.
ishan1990 29-05-2004, 12:25:PM i dont know if it'll work with your ps2 if its an international version.... Will it?
Hydde 31-05-2004, 01:55:AM TCM is the reason of why the Career mode sucked in fifa 2004...and is the main reason of why 2005īs career mode will suck too.
Of course the FIFA crew can doa better career mode... but why? theyd ont need to do it.... They can force the customers to b buy both TCM and fifa and do that foobtall fusion thing... instead of losing some bucks in including a great career mode in fifa and eliminating the TCM.
That is how fifa works.
ishan1990 31-05-2004, 06:20:AM it really sucks....
kickin_kyle 31-05-2004, 06:45:AM TCM is an amazing game, even better when you use FIFA to play with your players. i recomend it
Rochester Rhino 31-05-2004, 08:21:AM yeah i think i'm going to do that this year even if i have to pay an extra $30 or so.
ishan1990 31-05-2004, 02:03:PM if the gameplay in 2005 is good. and carreer mode sucks, then maybe i will get it. Then again thats what ea wants us to do, thats how they pull us into their trap. I really dont want to fork over anymore money. My big question is that will a game from england work on my ps2 here?
modena_10 31-05-2004, 02:32:PM i wish
Lonestarr022 06-06-2004, 03:38:PM ps2 games from europe wont work on us ps2s i have a CL game that was made in europe but i have for pc, so it will work on pcs, but not consoles
ishan1990 06-06-2004, 11:33:PM yeah, thats what i thought. And it sucks testicles.
shrekiejai 07-06-2004, 10:44:AM Is it just me, but does Football Fusion feel different to Fifa2004? Like teh game play feels different.... TCM FF seems alot more plain and basic compared to Fifa2004...
maybe my imagination?
Soccer_Fan09 19-06-2004, 06:01:AM I think the career mode will be better then 2004 but it's not gonna have all you wish and I am kind of glad. I hate playing games with that merchandising garbadge but contracts would be cool
El Diablo Rojo 19-06-2004, 10:48:AM I agree, it'll be better but still will lack of some stuff we want. I hope you can manage better the formations, and that the keepers could get injured, and could carry bookings, suspensions, and being able to put them to kick Free kicks, etc(Maybe a very stupid detail but i've seen in other games). But in general and the most important i hope it that it'll have better gameplay.
HENRY1234 19-06-2004, 01:11:PM FIFA 2005 probably wont have this... but instead of just pressing on "TEAM TRAINING" or "INDIVIDUAL TRAINING" to train your players... you should be able to actually enter a training session... kind of like practice mode but instead more intense.. with free kicks, scrimages, pks, etc...and that is how your players improve their skills... this would be awsome... but it probably wont happen.
What do you guys think about this?

Sorry ta put down TCM but it does have some stupid laws like after a season players like Ballack, Davids, Del Piero , and other world class players are avalible free
You can't loan players
The 3d match engine (from da words of avid Merion from bo selecta) stupid weird and S**t
and the football fusion matches are played always in the closed squre stadiam,
its always a sunny day and
the CPU always sets the kits as Home team wears home kit and away team wears away kit which causes comfusin sumtimes
Apart from that da game is da best gives Champ manager a run for its money

This sounds a like a good idea, maybe also an option to practice dribbling? I saw such in some old game, but anyway i doubt it'll happen.
johncmcleod 21-06-2004, 03:00:PM You can't loan players
I've seen screenshots where there is a button that says 'loan player.'

It was the first year of football fusion so it give it some slack, i'm sure it will be more refined this year after seeing some bugs, but yet again it is EA though?
snoppf1 22-06-2004, 02:15:AM they should take time and dont rush it and make sure all the bugs ar fixed

that would be the smart thing to do, but it doesn't happen.
Wiggum21 22-06-2004, 03:25:PM If it doesn't have the career mode you're expecting then give world tour soccer a spin. It has a great career mode.
HENRY1234 23-06-2004, 12:11:PM How is world tour soccer's online play (if it has one)....FIFA ONINE IS HORRIBLE!
Wiggum21 24-06-2004, 04:47:AM Sadly World tour soccer 2005 doesn't have online play. At first it was a bummer but then my friends started getting into the game too, so now fridays nights are wts'05 night. 5 or 6 friends come over and we have a couple of drinks and play all night. I haven't really missed the online play. but thats just me.
HENRY1234 25-06-2004, 11:44:AM Well, im a big online gamer. So if WTS '05 has no online...I probably wont get it... even if career mode is better than FIFA 2004's career mode.
Lonestarr022 26-06-2004, 03:40:PM still like to see multiplayer career modes so u can play with ur friends, that would be a good addition

Yeah, well some of us don't have 5 or 6 friends!
