View Full Version : What is best PC soccer game that you have ever played ? Paolo_Rossi 25-06-2000, 05:02:AM Any soccer game except for Fifa series . Example:Actua soccer3 ,Sensible soccer etc.... Zambrotta 25-06-2000, 08:49:AM The BEST ever is FIFA98. The best not being a FIFA title is Kick Off 2 for Amiga. rob_0606 25-06-2000, 09:09:AM i like viva soccer. very low budget; no crowd noise till you score, no announcer, no club teams. but you can be any world cup international team from 98 back to 58. the game play is very deep and tough to master. there is a very wide variety of goals you can score and every one seems different from the rest, i like that. not as much as ISS, but we're talking PC here. there isn't much of a variety in player animations but it's acceptable. the only modes are cup(history as they call it) and training. in cup mode you can lead any team in the world through the qualifying stages to the finals, and i mean any team. there are countries i didn't know existed, and the player names are all correct. lots of research went into that. i like being germany '74, england '66, holland '74 and '78, and brasil '98. the training mode is kind of pointless because there's no keeper to shoot on and your forwards always act like they're jumping the offside trap. i'd still recommend the game though. it's like $10 or less, you can't go wrong. Canoe 25-06-2000, 09:43:AM Viva isn't too bad, takes a bit of getting used to. I do love that you can kinda control the keepr. I play Uefa98/99 and uefa99/00. The first one is great in playability, the latter more akin to fifa with great graphics but lame defending and ease of goal scoring. shez 25-06-2000, 10:27:AM 1-kick off 2 for amiga, i still dream about a sequel ( and i mean a decent 2-D sequel not the crap kick off 3 ). 2-player manager, the idea was and will be a challenge for everybody, nobody did it better than anco! 3- sensible world of soccer, introduced the stunning transfer market soo coool. 4- winning eleven 4.. the best on earth by a mile! Schumacher 25-06-2000, 11:54:AM Best PC games, hmmm, hard one... 1. Michael Owen's World League Soccer 99 - It's just like the Champions League games, scoring is hard, but when you do MAN it looks so good! I don't have UEFA CL 99, but MOWLS99 is better cos of my second favourite commentator doing the talking thang - Peter Brackley! 2. World Cup 98 - Better than Fifa 98 because of the atmosphere. Crowds chanting the name of your side, the teams lined up for the anthems (even though the Scottish one was bad) and the original 1966 commentator for the Classic games. Yummy. 3. MS International Soccer 2000 - Most people hate this, but I think it's fun - especially free kicks! Not too keen on Viva, Fifa 2000 (though PoTD makes it better), or Euro 2000. First Division Stars is fun though. What about worst games? I have a stinking game which came as a free gift through Gameplay.com called "Soccer Challenge 98". It features facts on the 98 World Cup, a quiz, and a "Soccer game...". It's like Sensi Soccer, but remember the way Sensi scrolled? This doesn't. You have to scroll it yourself, so if the ball goes of screen you've go to chase it with your keypad before your players... The best game though is ISS Evolution, play with a PSX emulator! Schumacher 25-06-2000, 11:55:AM Ahhhhhh! I forgot the Championship Manager games! Get 97/98 and be fulfilled for a tenner... ricococo 25-06-2000, 11:55:AM I think that viva football is more a soccersimulation than a game like "EAsports FIFA serie". But anyway i would rate as nr.1 as well. except ISSpro serien on playstation, i would suggest INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL 2000 from RAGE and Microsoft. finally there has been a alot of atemps to make a "realistic" good soccergame from many software companies but i think they must choose what ever it shall be a sim or a game otherwise it will be something in the middel of a game and sim to half done concepts put together dosne't a comeplet good realistic soccergame in the end. ricococo [This message has been edited by ricococo (edited 06-25-2000).] Phil the Leeds fan 25-06-2000, 10:27:PM Best ever footy game? erm, does that include management games?? GShakan09 26-06-2000, 05:36:AM sensible world of soccer, great transfer market and accurate rosters, but i didn't really get the gameplay. it was so hard to control the ball and score a goal. to me, that let the game down. but man, the lineups brought me back to the old days. i saw players i totally forgot about. like mapeza in galatasaray, that was the old days... mart 26-06-2000, 08:53:AM wow so many games come to mind. It has to be FIFA 1999 and 2000 especially after POTD and the EPL Patches. CM3 is the other one I can't tell you how many Saturday's were lost guiding Man Utd to the champioship. I tried Liverpool and West Ham but I always got sacked. mart 27-06-2000, 11:25:AM Bloody hell WaltonSW International soccer on catridge now thats going back in time. That must have been mid eighties along with match of the day 1 & 2. i too remember Peter Shilton and also Linekers superstar soccer. I still play a few golden oldies on my C64 emulator( you just cant beat them for playability). faplfm2000 27-06-2000, 11:58:AM The best ever would have to be Sensible Soccer, the very first one. It was the start of actually looking like soccer and it was my first Soccer Game ever. My second favourite would be FIFA International Soccer, the very first FIFA Game. This was terrific with it's different camera angle, superb (in those days) graphics, terrific commentary (PC version) and excellent sound effects. And apart from the FIFA series the best modern day game is easily Actua Soccer 1, 2 and 3. Although it doesn't get anywhere near the current FIFA series I had lots of fun with it. Well that's my opinion http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif +edmundo 27-06-2000, 03:50:PM 1. kickoff series 2. fifa99 3. euro2000 4. wc98 shez 27-06-2000, 08:09:PM anybody remembers football glory on AMIGA? it was similar to sensible soccer but with soke funny add ons it wasn't that bad http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif Schumacher 28-06-2000, 06:37:AM Super Soccer on the SNES, ohhh, that was a great game http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif (for the time!) |
