Just as long as Jamaica gets at least a draw in Haiti they'll be fine...Jamaica is one of the toughest teams to beat at home.

I think 4th plays off with an asian team.
I think we could have 4 teams in the WC, let's just hope the playoff is against Saudi Arabia :p

I wouldn't mind seeing Canada qualify as a 4th team after US, Mexico, and Costa Rica if we really do fight it out with Asia.

At this stage I don't think the ref is gonna matter, even if he gives them 4 penalties Mexico is probably gonna score 10, I wouldn't be worried.

I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about possible injuries.
Cuz you know when Dominica is down by about 6 goals they're gonna start playing to injure, I hope I'm wrong but I've seen this happen all too often in CONCACAF with the smaller countries.
Today's Results
Netherlands Antilles vs Honduras 1-2
Haiti vs Jamaica 1-1
Surinam vs Guatemala 1-1
Cuba vs Costa Rica 2-2
Not many surprises, though I did think Costa Rica would win, dont know if they took their best squad.

I did not get a chance to see the Haiti - Jamiaca game. Nice to know that the haitians played good, but I really wanted them to win. It's is going to be harder now since the jamiacans are going to have home field advantage in the 2nd leg match. Hope Haiti wins! May god bless the team.
manutd4eva 13-06-2004, 12:48:PM Haiti got a penalty after 10 seconds in the match and threw it away.:D
They looked the better team for most of the match though, and could have had maybe two or three more goals.
The Haitian support was also awesome, they almost filled the 76,000 seater stadium.(Y)
Let's see how they handle themselves next week with 45,000 screaming Jamaicans in their ears.(H)

well, at least they're not scared. :D

manutd4eva 13-06-2004, 10:48:PM Costa Rica faced a pretty strong Cuban side, the Cubans might spring a surprise this trip, so be on the lookout.

::shinji:: 14-06-2004, 06:46:AM next game is on June 16th, at the same stad in Kingston, ON..
hehe, yeah it was a pretty poor stadium. They should play some of these games in London, ON. They built a really nice stadium a couple years ago there on the campus of the Univ. of Western Ontario. Would be perfect for some of these smaller games..
It's nice to see Canada score. Though I thought that they attacked too much and had some defensive lapses. They can't afford to do that against better teams. Well hope Canada makes it to the World Cup

$teauA 14-06-2004, 07:40:AM CONCACAF and COMEBOL should unite and create one conference and do the group system just like in Europe and Africa, that's the only way that the teams in this region will get better, playing the likes of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay etc...

And I hate their schedule it's so f*cked up I mean you have some teams that have played 12 games and then you have some that have played 9 games , it probably has to do with the fact that they play what 30 games when there's only ten teams in the league  that's just stupid, why cant they just have one league table and the top 4 make it out of the ten then they have a bracket similar to CL or UEFA Cup, that would certainly spice up every match because 8 teams out of 10 making the playoffs is just pathetic :nape:.

Dominica vs Mexico 0-10 FT (H)
well, what can I say about Dominica? It wasnt ever going to be close. :D They have no league, most of them have real jobs and soccer is just like a hobby. (I say most cuz they said one was unemployed :p) It could've easily been about 6 more goals at least, but Mexico looked like they were at a training session. Arellano and Davino (both got a yellow card) wanted to get a 2nd yellow so they could miss the next game and that way start the group stage with 0 yellows.
And now what I'm looking forward to is the next group stage. Mexico's three group opponents are more than likely going to be T&T, St Kitts & Nevis, and St Vincent. :D I smell lots of goals in the group stage too. :D Some of Dominica's players started getting a little dirty towards the end, I hope they dont continue that in the 2nd unnecessary leg. I'm just surprised there werent more scores like this one...like with the US. It had been a while since I had seen one of these matches, no anguish, close to zero attacking by the opponent, lots of attacking by Mexico and a double digit score. :D
For the 2nd leg I'd like to see those that either came in for the 2nd half or didnt play get a chance to start, like Muñoz in goal, Mendez, Arellano, Morales, Osorno and Lozano.

It safe to say that this will be a walk in the park for Mexico. T&T is our "toughest" opponent. :mexican:
Group B looks like the group of death to me, anyone could come out of that group.

manutd4eva 21-06-2004, 11:35:AM How does this work again? Is it the top two teams from each group qualifies?:(

"The semifinal round will consist of three four-team groups playing a six-game round robin competition, with the top two finishers from each group moving onto the final round of qualiyfing in 2005"
manutd4eva 21-06-2004, 11:44:AM In that case, go Jamaica!:rockman:
:(
$teauA 21-06-2004, 11:59:AM It's safe to say that USA will have to play better than they did against Grenada if they want to make it past this round, or not (H). This how I see the groups after all the games have been played:
Group A:
1) USA
2) Jamaica
Group B:
1)Costa Rica
2) Honduras
Group C:
1) Mexico
2) Trinidad & Tobago

St. Vincent haha, oh man, I wonder how many goals we'll score against those three teams. :D :mrpimp: I wonder if Ansil Elcock will play in Mexico after "the incident." Does he still play for that matter?

You'd be surprised. This is Canadas best team, in a LONG time
Tomacz Radzinski - has done well in EPL
Paul Stalteri - everygame starter for Bundesliga champions
Ian Hume - The reason Tranmere went far in FA Cup
Who does Honduras have?

they dont really have "stars", but their tough to beat at home, one of the toughest in CONCACAF. And even though they dont have stars they play really well as a team.
#1 Stunna 25-06-2004, 09:08:PM oh man...this is amazing.
Dominica was videotaped by some Mexican reporter this week playing a "friendly" match. This is a country trying to qualify for the WC, and they're playing a "friendly" a few days before being slaughtered again by Mexico.
Ok, I know playing a friendly isnt bad...but it is like this. :p They played an amateur team that plays in one of those local leagues in San Antonio. They were paid $5 for every person that showed up to watch...400 people did
And the thing that takes the cake... they lost 3-1! :crazyboy: (H)

If Dominica (168th ranked) are that bad, how bad are Montserrat who are 205th (dead last)?
You think if me, you, ManU2000, FLYER, bjmenge and others made a US-Mexican team we could go down there and beat them?
PS. The right wing is mine so back off. ;)
Bobby 25-06-2004, 11:47:PM I'm left back :o

A colombian, Pinto.
He was trainning a team in his country before.
Lonestarr022 26-06-2004, 01:39:PM costa rica is quite lucky to stil be in this, us and mexico will win their groups, the other one will go to either canada or costa rica
jamaica and t & t will also make it to the last 6
and dont bag on canada, their new coach will get them on the right track
gagiz 26-06-2004, 05:09:PM Go Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rockman: I think we should start our own country, make a footy team and qualify for the world cup by beating Dominica and other crappy teams like Belize.

Canada aren't a bad team and I think Yallop is a good coach. I think they will finish second in their group. Costa Rica barely got past Cuba but they fired Sampson who is a pretty bad coach. I doubt they will play so badly in the next stage. I agree with you on who will advance.
#1 Stunna 28-06-2004, 11:00:PM well, Mexico won 8-0 .... 18-0 final total score. (H) Bring on St Kitts, St Vincent and T&T! (H)
Mauricio 29-06-2004, 04:34:AM I hate mexico playing for CONCACAF its just stupid to play teams like all the caribean island but o well GO MEXICO
