Claudio Ranieri, as expected, has returned to Valencia as their new manager.

The former Chelsea boss has penned a two-year contract at La Mestalla to succeed Rafa Benitez.

Benitez quit the Spanish champions last week after turning down a new deal and the club moved quickly to make a move for Ranieri.

The Italian tactician opened talks with Valencia last week after parting company with Chelsea.

Any deal was on hold until his contract wrangle at Chelsea was resolved and, after a settlement was agreed on Monday, the road was clear for Ranieri to return to Spain.

Ranieri enjoyed a successful two year spell at Valencia between 1997 and 1999 helping them win the Spanish Cup and the club will be hoping he can carry on the good work done by Benitez.

I'd expect him to at least win a silverware.

As long as they dont sell important players yes. Ranieri is responsible for building the team that is there now.
