What has to be better, from 2004 is the research. One of worlds most experienced central backs, Erik Hoftun (Rosenborg) with about 50 CL matches and several national matches appears as a striker wit 39 skillpoints. That is a forgiveable mistake. But when Aalesunds goalie Frank Mathisen appears as a wing back, with no. 1 on his back... thats a big mistake. There are also players missing in the game. This has to be better before the next game.

Personal I'm not a fan of the manager style either, I wanna play a great soccergame, not a very crappy managergame

I hope someone chares my thoughts.

Yes the research was not good at all for the Norwegian teams. Putting Hoftun as a striker!haha.
Azar Karadas was missing and Stabæk was written Stabæck.

Don't know if the research was bad for the rest of the teams/leagus but when they have the license the should use it 100%.

This is a problem of Norwegian researchers...

EA never does a good job, i can understand a little error becuase there are so may teams, but there are some major ones that shouldn't be there.

Do i have to repeat? EA have researchers, responsable for each country, they trust them... the researchers have to make better jobs...

Well sometimes you have to work with what you get, if you can't find anyone else in that country then you have to stick with them and hope they do a good job...

For the record, the research for the Hungarian NT was terrible, half the players EA listed weren't even on the NT anymore...not to mention the skills were all off

Im one of the Dutch researchers. I making my team Ajax Amsterdam. As far as I know all the data is perfect so there wont be any problems. I hope other researchers do their job as well and that we will get a good database.

In that case, the French researchers suck big time. I can`t believe they put Henry and Trez as left footers in Euro 2004 :|:|:|

I only tried one game of Euro 2004 for PS2 and that simple but important mistake just turned off my appetite for the game . . .

Yes it looked strange to me that wing back with number 1, but i noticed some players(there's one in Hamburg SV) with number "0". In the reality is it allowed to use 0 even?

of all the mistakes pointed out...

...such as a certain player's name was incorrect, a player was put in a position that hes never played at and certain players were missing....

In a way, those could be something they missed. Whether it be because they lacked the research or they just got lazy...i dont know.

but an error I found to be unbelieveable was a team with a white kit having white numbers on the back. This is just common sense, you dont put white with white! Check out Toluca's (Rest of World) away kit to see what i'm talking about.

The MLS research is awful, always has been. Taylor Twellman was listed as a Left Back! Cobi Jones is Ebony-black! Preki can't pass!!!!!

I could go on.

Yes, my favorite MLS player Pat Onstad, was bald and had a beard in the game, how is that possible, he just has normal black hair and is clean shaven in real life.

It's the same with black. (away-kits) it's another black color, so if you consentrate you can see numbers and names. thats poor

This is EA's fault... we (researchers) don't choose the fonts or the font coulour, they make that when they make the kits...

Really? A Rochester Rhino fan likes Pat Onstad? That's a shock :D

Look at the French players' favoured feet in Euro 2004 and then you'll see how bad the research is. Players of that stature of Henry, Trezeguet, Silvestre, Desailly, Gallas, Wiltord etc. all have incorrect favoured feet. Not that it makes a big difference in open play because preferred foor doesn't seem to matter, but it makes a difference with free kicks and penalties. So if some of the best players in the world (and it's in other squads as well) have this simple attribute wrong then obviously there is a need for improved research.

Just think about us supporters who were looking forward to playing as our small clubs e.g sheffield united.

Half the players had left and were in wrong positions e.g. ten heual was a striker and left the club on 2004 he was a defender still with us.

Our black players were white with long hair.

I dont wanna even get started on the stats, our reserve keeper (played 1 game) was a 67 and our main keeper (irish international) 55.

PLEASE DO RESEARCH NEXT TIME

Sure the Norwegian researchers were bad for Fifa 2004. They left out over the half of Tromsø ILs players. Even big players as Ole Martin Årst, Peter Kovacs, Bjørn Johansen, Karim Essediri osv. Tromsøs keeper Knut Borch was a midfield player. And Tromsøs captain Steinar Nilsen was named Stein Nilsen. Stein in norwegian is stone in english...

If this is wrong in FIFA 2005 I will change this as soon as a CC is released.

I see a few people defending EA saying it's the researcher's fault, but as has been said, if you want the best game, you hire the best staff...that includes researchers. And that statement that "they have nothing better to work with" is CR.A.P! Look at CM...they have 3 times the number of stats for every player + they have a lot of coaches/scouts/managers in the game, and more leagues than in FIFA and they still get it right...

There also needs to be more coordination between the researchers. As I mentioned in another thread, John O'Brien is rated 64 with Ajax and 83 with the USA. That's just stupid.

Not really considering Onstad played with Rhinos before coming to the San Jose. He was also a player of the year there or something a believe.
