I was wondering if any of you guys wanted to join in a Euro 2004 festivity that myself and a Soccer Gaming friend are partaking in. We (me and Kulixs) are going to start a new CM 03/04 game as international teams, hoping to take them to glory at Euro 2004, (where the game will end). We have already had a bit of interest from friends away from SG, but we have decided to give you guys 'first bite at the cherry'. If you are interested port at this thread and we'll 'iron out the details' as interest grows.

Me and Manny have done it quite a few times, its not hard. Its just like a normal game, except your all on, so you have to compete for transfers etc. If you both have MSN it will be easy to explain come July

yeah and ive never played a game online so i dont know that much about it.

It's simple really, the only problem is that everyone has to be online at the same time and that everyone has to have the same version of the game (as said above).
After that its a case of inserting a number into a box provided and thats it, you're playing with the rest of us.

But some have 4.1.1, while others have 4.1.5. It's best if we decided on the version to be used.

I'm on 4.1.5, but I'm not planning to go back really, but if there are many with 4.1.1 too, maybe we can organize 2 games or so

Okay, we've all messed about enough now for the past week, its time to get serious and get this 'show on the road'. Firstly i'm gonna tell it straight, this game is going to be on version 4.1.5 (as either me or Kulixs will be hosting, and thats the version we have) so anybody with 4.1.1, you got to set your own game up or upgrade.
Next we need to get a definite figure for people that are entering. The way that i have come up with is to post your MSN email address to enter officially. We will need to know each others address's anyway because thats where we will 'iron out' all the details of the game and chat chat during gameplay. Its easy, simple and fast so thats why we will use it. So if you want to play in the game, simply port your MSN address in the manor that i will below.
We cant let everybody in because it would just get chaotic, so ive come up with a figure of 10 players. 3 of the 10 are reserved in myself, Kulixs abd Cody as we are the founders of the game. So the first seven people to post their email addresses basically get in.
After this procedure is done, we will sort out the rules of play, times of play, determine which league to take up etc. (either on MSN or SG, doesn't matter really).
So thats how its gonna happen, Good Luck to all that play.

Anyway, I think the confirmation about who's in should be by Manny/Kulixs, they are the hosts, and they set it up.

The problem with 'Untouchable' is that everyone else will have no chance to play at a 'normal' time in the afternoon. Thats the only problem i've got with you participating. Its up to everyone else, i dont mind playing at 21:00, its not perfect but it could happen. How does everyone else feel about having a start time of around 21:00 if we allow 'Untouchable' in?

well, errp, then I think that there's a small problem cause I'm set to go on vacation on Sunday I believe. So in that case I'll will only be able to play twice.... :( :(

Well thats a big problem then, you won't be able to play, simple as that.

Also gameplay will be during the hours of 17:30 - 22:00 (British time) so 'Untouchable' won't be able to play either.

This is because Kulixs is unavailable away from these hours.

7 players is a good number as the chaos of 10 is reduced a bit, with this also comes a slightly faster game, but also we will still have a depth of competition.

This game will involve club sides.

Also we need to decide on a league to play in, we could play in a big league (e.g. england, italy) this would leave a wide range of teams to choose from. People could be lower league sides, and try to bring them up but people could also be top league sides and go for titles or european glory as the case may be.

Another option could be to go to a less recognised country (Russia for example) players could be hard to get, managerial life would be quite difficult.

Its up to us all, post where you want to play, and i'll see which lge gets the most support.

I think a bigger league is nicer in the highest league. Not with the top teams though. I.e. if we play england, then we manage clubs like Bolton and Everton.

While they choose, i'm gonna get on with some of the rules.
Obviously the main rule is to choose a team outside of the top five in England (almost done). However from there on, international jobs can be taken but not a top five team.

If a player is sacked, then he must drop down a divsion into div.1, take over any team and again work his way back up.

At the end of each session of gameplay we will together agree on a time that will suit us all to play again.
A major rule is that if you don't show up to play within 20mins of the agreed start time then you run the risk of being booted off the game (depends on demand of booting).

As already discussed, diablo tactics and special training programmes are banned. In the case of training programmes, 75% of it must be the same as the start. This can be checked by the host, and any 'cheating' will result in a booting.

Any other rules that i think of i will post in due course. Also if anyone wants clarification on rules, or has a querie, then i am happy to answer them. Better to get them out of the way before we start (so to reduce conflict)

Finally, as long as we all choose teams in time, im hoping for a late Sunday afternoon start, if not then definitely a Monday evening start.

1) The host will start a new game, I won't explain further cause Kulixs or Manny will do this and know how to.
2) The host gives his IP adress to the other participants.
3) They go to ''join network game'' and fill in the IP of the host.
