Anyway, i've decided to give my beloved Nottingham Forest another shot, every time i've tried in the past i cant get anywhere due to the fact thier near as damn it bankrupt when you start, so has anyone got any tips for when your bankrupt, any star players that are free? or anything else?

Sell some of your oldies, people over 30 too make some money out of them while you can. Also sell some "star" players. People who have abiger reputation then actual ability. This should raise some money to bring in the likes of Tsigalko

Perhaps loaning in talented players from bigger clubs... It avoids paying transfer fees and signing on fees and what not. Always worth a try.

yeah attempt to loan, however CM0102 can make it hard to loan players compared with newer versions, but try anyway

Yep, Taribo is a God! I got him for the first time after reading one of your previous posts and he's always an awesome signing.

As for your money issues N.F.F.C, the players suggested are a good solution if you have any money whatsoever. Joao Paiva (free at start) and Eldar Hadzimehmedovic (probably spelt wrong) are also good. Play Eldar as an AMC though. Much better there. Also look for Bosman's and other free players by typing in 'No Club' in the find player screen. Make sure to use a capital N and C. Also, if you don't mind bending the rules you could use CM Scout to find good free players.
One more trick is to put just about every player that you are interested in, regardless of their value, on your shortlist. That way you are always alerted when they only have six months left on their contracts and can sign them for nothing before they sign a new one. I've picked up so many expensive players that way I've lost count. I hope all of that helps.

Hakan Mild, Nikforenko are extremley good, however personally i feel mild is a poor mans Kaluzny, but make your own mind up.

By the way Fender, i prefer Daniella over all of them :p though Sharapova is quite nice

The way the loans are setup on the newer versions are rediculous, though.

It's just right on 01/02, I reckon. Most players will sign for someone if they want to play bad enough.

no on CM0102 loans dont come easily enough from big clubs

Are you playing with the old school 01/02 database or have you updated? It makes a difference because some of those players will or won't be there. Let me know and i'll tell you some that I know if you have a newer CMSorted update.

CM 4 and CM 03/04 turned me off from playing the series for several months, but recently I started playing CM 01/02 again.

dont blame you, i know a lot of people who CM4/0304 turned them off CM completly.

I havent installed any updates, it says version 3.9.60 in the top corner, to be honest i dont think i'd want to update if it means starting again.

While i'm here i've got a couple more Q's. regarding formations; i'm not asking for peoples unbeatable formations as i want to make my own but i'd like to know when a formation is cracked how much do i have to change it before it will work again? is it just a case of moving 1 or 2 players or is it a total re-shuffle?

I've settled for a single striker formation thats working very well at the minute, only trouble is all the goals are coming from midfield, what attributes are required for a single striker to work well?

i tend to operate with two formations, when one is cracked, use the other one then revert back after a while

Yep, I agree. If you can have two formations Matt, they don't have to really be that different. I have two which are pretty much identical except that one has two AMCs and one striker and the other one AMC and two strikers.

When a formation is cracked I find I can use the other for as little as 10-15 games and then revert back to the original.

Having said that, my original formation seems to last for years anyway. I seem to remember TROD saying that he had a formation for around six years with Valencia also. In short, if your formation is only lasting a season or so, you may wish to look for something a little more robust. I hope that this helps. :mrpimp:

yeah thats right. CM0102 is intresting, some tactics such as the infamous WWW2 never get cracked, but the majority do.

With my Valencia 'AllOutAttack' formation it was never cracked

but my other 'WingAttack2' formations and 'CentreBalance' ones have been

they're all pretty much as succesful, but as you can imagine, i only ever get asked to share the top one ;) ;)

Just out of intrest i downloaded this WWW2 or whatever its called, now believe me or not its exactly the same as my tactic that i'm using at the minute, but the individual player instructions are different to mine, result = www2 ****e turned a free scoring top 2 premiership nottingham forest into a dismal draw/1-0 specialist and i dropped 4 places in as many games :kader: needless to say i ditched it and stuck with my own, although i still cant get the striker to score many :f***:

Yep, 1-0 is pretty much what www2 did for me too. Like i said, boring. Incidentally who are your strikers? If they are o.k then I'm pretty sure it's a positional thing which I can help you with.

i used WWW2 for one season with Liverpool, i won 36 out of 38 games, i quickly deleted that game

Kop, My player positions are the same as WWW2, i'm rotating the AMC and FC as i'm trying to get a combonation that works! strikers are; David Johnson, Jermaine Defoe, Cherno Samba, Alex Notman (FC) AMC's are; Barsom, Kallstrom, De boer, And i've tried Clayton (from porto) there aswel but the only people scoring are Owen Hargreaves who plays centre midfield and the two either side of him (usually clayton and/or kiegan parker,barsom, de boer) could it be down to my player instructions? what should the midfield and forwards instructions be like?

I'm 18 years in and the bugger's retired. Soon, though. He's effectively like Tsigalko because of the high potential and shooting stats.

Justin Georcelin isn't too bad a striker either. Not in the league of Tsigalko, but definately up there.

Geocelin's quite class. Kicks arse for my England squad. He's on the level with Samba, I reckon.

Yeah I agree. Samba was actually quite crap last time I bought him. Salva is currently doing the business for me at Valencia. Quite suprising I thought.

Georcelin is definately class, especially if you can sell him for 150 million dollars like I did. Stupid Barcelona. Screenie should be in the career thread somewhere I think or the biggest transfer fee thread.
