Mr. White = Harvey Keitel
Mr. Blonde = Michael Madsen
Mr. Pink = Steve Buscemi
Mr. Orange = Tim Roth
Mr. Blue = Eddie Bunker
Mr. Brown = Quentin Tarantino

I dont know why but I had never seen the movie till now :p Ive been wanting to see it for a few years and I just got the DVD today.

its the first Tarantino movie ever, from 1992and its got him, Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth and a few more.

the movie is great. cheap as all indies ($900.000) very well written. also lots of blood and classic Tarantino dialogues (Y).

my only complain is that its like its missing at least 30 minutes.

they never show how mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi) gets to the group. and they also dont know what the hell happened in the robbery that went crazy.

I guess the low budget didnt allow a big scene like that should've been but still the movie would be 100 times better with it.

Still another Tarantino classic which is a top 10 in a lot of people's list and surely a must see for all Pulp Fiction fans (Y)

Hah :D Just as I've just been on my own mini Tarantino movie fest, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill v1/2, Pulp Fiction (which remains my favourite) ......er.. :$ Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (not tarantino but I can see the potential)

Part where they were allocated code names was hilarious

Mr Brown: Mr. Brown? That sounds too much like Mr. ****
Joe: And you are Mr. Pink.
Mr. Pink: Why am I Mr. Pink?
Joe: Cause you're a faggot, ok?
Mr. Pink: How about I be Mr. Purple?
Joe: No, You can't be Mr. Purple.
Mr. Pink: Why not?
Joe: Someone on another job is Mr. Purple!
Mr. White: Who cares what your name is?
Mr. Pink: Oh yeah that's easy for you to say you've got a cool sounding name. How about we trade, OK? You're Mr. Pink.

:D

Hakeem, I thought you of all people would have seen it before.:)

I've seen Resevoir Dogs about a dozen times or so, I love it. Like you say, classic Tarantino dialogue, lots of gore, well written. My favourite scene is where Mr. Blonde cuts off the cop's ear to the music of "Stuck in the middle", classic!
Or the scene at the beginning where they're discussing what Madonna's "Like a virgin" song really means and whether tipping a waitress is a must or not. :D

yeah I know, its weird that I havent seen it having in mind that Pulp Fiction is in top 5 all-time. and I havent seen Jackie Brown either :$

and yeah, the Like a Virgin discussion is a classic.
I also loved the Tipping discussion from Mr. Pink :bob:

Jackie Brown is probably the lesser of the Tarantino movies though I still like it, it has its moments but it's not quite as good as Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill 1&2

So you're a later bloomer, eh Hakeem? ;)

If you haven't already seen this classic, you should go rent it. Regardless of how old it is.

Well I don't know why I came here tonight,
I got the feeling that something ain't right,
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs,
Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you.

Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you,
And I'm wondering what it is I should do,
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face,
Losing control, yeah, I'm all over the place,
Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.

Well you started out with nothing,
And you're proud that you're a self made man,
And your friends, they all come crawlin,
Slap you on the back and say,
Please.... Please.....

Trying to make some sense of it all,
But I can see that it makes no sense at all,
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor,
'Cause I don't think that I can take anymore
Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.

Well you started out with nothing,
And you're proud that you're a self made man,
And your friends, they all come crawlin,
Slap you on the back and say,
Please.... Please.....

And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs,

Jokers to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you,
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you,
Stuck in the middle with you.

Just saw it and I basically end up agreeing with Hakeem. Yeah, you want to see what went down... and leaving that part out was a BIG mistake in my opinion. A bit overrated in my opinion but that doesn't take away the fact that it's still a good movie. Certainly not as great as his other movies, at least.

Talking about good movies, I watched 'Fight Club' again the other day and uhh... did anyone else noticed how Tyler Durden appears on short 1-milisecond frames all through the first 15 minutes of the movie? Example: when Edward Norton is near the xerox machine at work and when he's in the testicular cancer session.

the movie rocks, but it wasn't Tarantinos first move, according to IMDB, My Best Friend's Birthday was his first movie (1989).

hakeem, if you're interested to understand that background conversation at the end of the film, there are some detailed transcripts on the net.

quick story: tarantino came to present reservoir dogs at the são paulo int'l film festival in 1992. the room was almost empty during his press conference. i think he never came back again.

after mr. pink leaves the place with the bag, you can hear the police coming and some yells -- that's the "conversation". it's not that important, just idle curiosity.
