the latest stoner movie comes from the director of 'Dude, Where's my Car?', a classic :p and it features the chinese guy from the Ameican Pie movies and the indian guy from National Lamppon's Van Wilder :rockman:

also Van Wilder himself and the american pie guys make cameos as well as lots of others like Neil Patrick Harris (Doggie Houser), Jamie Kennedy, Fred Willard and more

check out the trailer, its great :bob:

I swear they are just giving movies away. Honestly just give a crew and I could make a movie ten times better than this filth. This movie is A) borderline racist and not the funny kind either and B) The same old crap that is being relased and C) There are only like three White Castles in the world why would make a movie based on such an obscure refernece. Plus White Castle only serves fries in one size.

Well, they have frozen White Castles at Shop-Rite.

When I was at the cinema yesterday, I glanced at that movie poster on the wall and thought it was a joke or something until now. I said to myself, "Why White Castle?!". The only White Castle I know of is in New Jersey. I go to WC when I visit my grandma in New Jersey sometimes. As for the movie . . . yeah, it looks like a waste of money.

White Castle, they're the ones with the box filled with 1x1 inch burgers, right? The "crave-case" I believe it's called?
That alone is enough reason to make a movie about them... :D

White Castle would kick ass if they got rid of the onion, forever.

Hakeem
02-07-2004, 03:54:AM
yeah, I didnt even know what White Castle was until I saw the trailer :p

and thats the idea of the movie, they wake up one day wanting to eat burgers from White Castle and so they go on a road trip to one :funny:

White Castle is no match for In-n-Out Burger. If you do one thing when in Califorina go to In-n-Out Burger it is almost as good as going to Knotts Berry Farms.

I hear so many good things about In-n-Out. It's a shame we don't have one here in the East [to my knowledge].

In-n-out is amazing. We have two right by my houses. Unfortunately, it's always packed and the kids working are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Poor guys. :(

West Coast burger lovers hungry to get a taste of the upcoming New Line Cinema comedy Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle are in luck as White Castle is coming to the Sunset Strip.

As part of a special promotional event, White Castle is opening its very first restaurant on the west coast for an 11-day promotional event leading up to the release of the film. The full-scale replica of a White Castle Burger restaurant will be located at 8301 W. Sunset Blvd. (across the street from The Standard hotel) and will be giving away 50,000 free White Castle hamburgers over the course of the week in conjunction with local radio station Power 106 FM.

The promotion kicks off with a star-studded ribbon-cutting event, to be held July 22 at 8:00 pm, and will run through August 11.

In addition to featuring the one-of-a-kind burgers that White Castle fans crave, the location will feature a variety of themed promotional activities and giveaways including a sweepstakes in which visitors will be able to enter for the chance to win a free car .

Opening in theaters July 30, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle follows two likeable underdogs who set out on an unbelievable Friday night quest to satisfy their craving for White Castle hamburgers. Their bizarre journey takes them across the broad terrain of their home state of New Jersey and leads to encounters with a cast of wild characters. The film, which stars John Cho (American Pie) and Kal Penn (Van Wilder), is scheduled for a July 30 release.

I think they are just incredible dumb. What is the worst is they put the dumbest person working there on drive-thru. One time I wanted a Milkshake with my 4x4 animal style combo. I ordered it and when I get to the window and the chick says to me sorry sir I can't sub a Hamburger for a drink on your combo. I was left without words on what the hell she had heard me say.

we have over 20 white castles here in Louisville. Three places to go after a night of drinking: Waffle House, Steak and Shake, or White Castle. 35 cents a burger. Only bad part is that they give you very rancid gas. Plus the chicken rings are awesome:rockman:

 They have to be stupid to want to work there. They are always busy and running around. At least they get $8.25/hour. :(

I was just watching tv and saw the preview of this movie. I was laughing at it .... but I haven't heard of the movie before. Looks funny, but it can be stupid also.... kind of like the "Eurotrip" and "Dude, where's my car?" genre.

Anyone gonna go see it? It says it comes out this friday. Yeah in 5 days and today is the first time I heard of this movie. Reminds me of "Van Wilder", never heard of this one before I saw it either but it was so funny and sick at the same time... LOL

edit: here's the preview.. http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/harold_and_kumar/

enjoy

I got a free pass to see it tommorow night, cant' wait. All movie critics seem to like it. It should be better than Dude Where's my Car because Cho and Penn can actually act whereas Ashton Kutcher is just an puss stain

I went to see it like 3 weeks ago with the actors in the theatre with us (Y)

John Cho is funnier than Kal Penn in reall life though Kal Penn is funnier than John Cho in the movie.

anyway, the movie was good. just good Id say. it wasnt as funny as Dude, Where's my car? but it was still funny.
the situations were stupid as always in these stoner movies but it was ok.
Neill Patrick Harris (doogie houser) a.k.a. NPH was really funny in all his scenes. and he's a lot in the movie though he not listed as a supporting character. maybe cause he's just being himself :p .
and just makes these appearences but it has to do a lot with the story.

Kal Penn was the funniest of the 2 with John Cho having to play the 'romantic' scenes of the movie if you can call them that. both of them were good but Kal was better and had the better lines and jokes.

after the movie, with all the white castle talk, we (me and my brother) got really hungry so we ended up going to Krystals we we dont have White Castles here in ATL :(

Id say its worth seeing (Y)(Y)

A bit of a dissapointment....a lot of scenes were hillarious though. I would say 8/10...I agree with something one of you remarked:" Seen one teen movie, seen em all" That applies here even though it is not technically a "TEEN" movie. Should have been more pranks though....88 minutes was just a bit short !:D

lol, this movie was funny.... some ppl thought the ending was funny... i kinda thought it was a bit predictable.. and wasn't too funny.... but everything else was funny... some of the stuff was very random... its all good.. even if i didn't know who directed it, i think i would still be able to link it back to dude where's my car.. b/c the jokes are kinda like the ones from dude where's my car... alrite, im not here to spoil it for those who didn't watch it yet... but great movie, ppl who didnt watch it yet, should go watch..

I thought it had its moments, some really great parts like the one I mentioned and the racist cops for instance but it did have some really far fetched parts like the cheetah thing which kind of ruined the film for me. Still better than the average comedies though.

Some people are too close-minded too give a review. This movie was made to have a good laugh so stop going into movies thinking you are going to have a life changing experience!!

Anyway this movie did what I wanted it to do for me and that was to give me a good laugh and have me enjoy myself for the time being.

I was just disappointed that no one told them that there was a White Castle in Newark.

Good movies too watch with the buddies or fun type girl who is not anal.

yeah, I made some investigations and you're right. 2 sequels are coming.

there's also a plan for "Goldstein and Rosenberg go to Hotdog Heaven" about the trip the other 2 friends have after crashing their car with Harold and Kumar around halfway through the movie.
