He played great for FC Porto in the CL but he didn't have one good game for Portugal at the EURO's. He's still a very good player.

I think he was better last season when Porto won the trebble....that Barca midfield will be deadly though with Ronaldinho, Giuly and now Deco.

Barça had other more urgent needs than buying a footballer like Deco, so, I'm happy with it :)

Ive seen him play in CL this season, some portuguese league games, and some friendlys. How much more do i have to watch? Maybe im missing something, but i dont see wat all the fuss is about. Has nothing to do with him being portuguese. I think Maniche and Carvalho are great players, and before EURO's i thought the same about Paulo Ferreira and Pauleta.

80 games a season? That's stretching it, maybe like 60 or thereabouts.

Either way, I think Deco will do well for the Barcelona jersey, and Saviola can see a boost in his own career from this transfer.

naw giuly is a winger that can play middle

Deco is attacking midfield all the way but he can play as a center midfield also cuz he can't tackle.

He is overrated by the way he's been playing lately I don't think he's worth 20 million + Quaresma but he was probably top 3 players in the world in the 2002/2003 season and he was very important this season although he wasn't so flashy.


Barça's midfield is the most creative in the world now.

Deco needs to have multiple haircuts and spit at ppl to be world class. It´s not the trophes and the achievements that count, it´s the media coverage and the ability to get a hot wife.

Deco plays in the same position as Ronaldinho

I can sorta understand how some might think he's overrated, the truth is Deco hasn't been as good as he was when Porto won the UEFA trophy...then he truly was "o magico" He's been effective now and then, producing more workman-like performances rather than making highlight reels. I hope a move to Barca will rekindle the flashy Deco of a year or two ago.

Deco isn't overrated, it's a fact he wasn't so brilliant this year like in the season 2002/03(his best season ever IMO) but he can play again at his best level for Barça and if that happens... what a team Barça can be with so much great players in that midfield. :rolleyes: (H)
If Quaresma is really coming to Porto in this deal i hope we can make him play at his best level and make him grow as a player and as a person too, if we're able to do that then it will be a great deal, that's for sure. ;)

And he not only makes great plays and assists the other players for goals, he also knows how to defend, and that's an important plus for him... But it will be difficult to play in the same starting team with Ronaldinho... I think they'd clash...

Quaresma to me,is a better dribbler but Ronaldo is way better with both feet and better in the air. Also Quaresma is good at set pieces and better at corner kicks. Theyre very similar though. I hope they both do well. Also Going to Porto may increase Quaresmas chances of a national team call up now.
