nailstream 17-07-2004, 08:12:PM I have two BIG wishes for the next Fifa 2005:
1. To be able to join a ongoing peer to peer game as spectator
2. To be able to save a played onlinegame for future glimpse and show-offs
PLEASE EA make thoose two come true!
:D
Rochester Rhino 17-07-2004, 08:44:PM those would be nice features.
nailstream 17-07-2004, 08:53:PM yes wouldn´t it ;)
i mean at least saving a great goal should be a big step forward. and they could let the replays be a inch longer than they are today, they often miss the "foreplay" in the replays.
Aveirenses 18-07-2004, 09:46:PM My request online...
1. When a player quits-have the score count as it is, so people aren't robbed of wins... :kader:
2. Disable the stupid offside-trap, ridiculous amounts of cheating and frustration caused by it in FIFA 2004.
3. More severe punishment for when it's last attacker vs. last defender and the defender tackles from behind... I've been screwed by this on-line SO MANY times, and often don't even get a foul, much-less the rightfull red-card for such an act.
4. Better servers, last year was ridiculous. The first time you can't connect you have to restart the PS2.

So, that way people can leave once they score a goal?

No, if the person in front decides to leave, I guess the other player gets a rightfull option to nullify the result, or allow it to stand. But if the loser leaves, then the score shouldn't just be taken as a 2-0 loss to the quitter and nothing awarded to the winner.
But you do see my point.
jumbo 19-07-2004, 09:32:AM Yes, yes. (Y)

1.- Certanly not posible, since FIFA online games are played in peer-to-peer mode (direct connection between the two PS2s). A central server just connects the two players between them and then leaves them off... Fifa need quite some bandwith to be played online, so, it would be impossible (not even playable) having a last one (or both PS2s) transmitting the game to the 'viewers'... maybe if the game passed completely thru an EA server, it could have a 'cached' image of the game and then broadcast it as available... but this type of game with a server between the players it not the most efficient way of connecting players...
2.- This might be posible using the PS2 hard drive, but, as we all know we cant even save of-line replays, so, theres your EA answer....

ntigers2004 19-07-2004, 01:13:PM yes definitely the spectator mode is a must but i also have some ideas like
rival mode - say u go for man u and you are really good at fifa (remember this is just an example) you choose rival mode and you are directed to some one who supports arsenal (what is the world coming to) and is at around the same skill level and then you do the home and away fomat thingy

It would be cool indeed, but if people keep playing with people around their rank, if EA calculates your rank according to to whom you played against (the higher the rank , the higher points you get), people wont advance as much on the rank... they would still have to find higher rank rivals on the lobbys....
Although, I would also add to your rival mode some 'intelligence' that would make the EA server choose someone 'close' to you, so the bandwith would be optimized... not just 'ping time' between the players and the server, but between players... ;)

im not quite sure if rank is curretly calculaed that way, but f it is, the point is that it wouldnt be ok if the server matches you against someone with your same rank.... Id prefer someone near me, to get a better online play experience....
