modena_10 22-07-2004, 04:36:AM thats probably the best news for the german nt, hopefully he can put an attacking influence into the squad, good to see holger moving on after his time with canada
good luck
Vagegast 22-07-2004, 04:40:AM Ha, that's funny. Van Basten & Van 't Schip for Holland. Klinsmann and Bierhoff for Germany. I'd wish them luck but I won't since Germany is our arch-enemy. (H)
Fener_Bahce 22-07-2004, 05:38:AM Good news for Germans.
But to all you german fans, is it true that Daum got an offer to be the NT coach?
Hendrik 22-07-2004, 05:40:AM Yes. It's his dream but Fener didn't let him go.
Help? 22-07-2004, 05:40:AM Osijek? Really? I thought that guy sucked in management.

I only know, that Beckenbauer (?) wanted him as the new coach.
Spurs4Life 22-07-2004, 06:16:AM Klinsmann will bring glory back to the German national team. He is a legend.
:rockman: :rockman: :rockman:
Vagegast 22-07-2004, 06:30:AM What happened to Kirsten Jancker? He could be an assistant :p
Hendrik 22-07-2004, 06:31:AM Also a great personality off the pitch. The same applies to Bierhoff.
They're highly respected by the fans so they would get the time to integrate some more young players into the team.

He's still playing for Kaiserslautern. :p
They got a lack of experiences. Seriously, why can`t Beckenbauer himself manage the NT ?

Daum was supposed to become the NT coach back in I think 1998 but he was found with possesion of drugs so that was the end of that. It is his dream but he says theres still many things to do at Fener.

so why should he do that?
Parra Power 22-07-2004, 06:36:PM dunno if its really a good thing....... when you got young guys taking over the "old establishment" feels threatened and **** you over somehow..........
stojkovic and savicevic similarly became president/coach of serbian football..... and lets just say that a draw and a loss against azerbeigjansoghaejrh;lkjdstan or whatever is no accident

He's gonna leave Dietmar Hamann, Christian Ziege, Sebastian Kehl and Fredi Bobic at home! :rockman:
19-man squad vs. Austria:

Seriously, Lemon is such an arrogant dumb****, I can't believe he's still in the team. Hildebrand is MILES ahead of him.

Germany played good, much better than the Euro and the matches before the Euro :)
Hendrik 02-09-2004, 02:19:AM *bump*
The squad which will play against Brazil next Wednesday will be announced tomorrow.
Let's see, I hope Klinsmann doesn't call the likes of Jancker, Wörns, Kehl etc. up.:$
Hendrik 09-10-2004, 11:18:PM The friendly game vs. Iran in Teheran is about to start in a few minutes.
Man the crowd is awesome. 100 000 people gave the German team a warm welcome with applause and the waving of German flags.
lol this doesn't has to do anything with politics. :crazyboy:
Deisler 09-10-2004, 11:29:PM Lets cee how they will do in this match.
Man when i see people like Lehman Kahn and Linke still in the team i feel like throughin up. :kader:
Hendrik 09-10-2004, 11:32:PM Linke ain't in the team anymore. He was just called up because of injuries.

Hendrik 09-10-2004, 11:58:PM Hitzl does.
It's a friendly game. Klinsmann wants to give young players a chance.
Frings is injured.
Ernst makes it 1-0 for Germany 5th minute (H)
Deisler 10-10-2004, 01:04:AM Theyre playing the black jersey. :D

Deisler 10-10-2004, 01:06:AM 2-0...Brdaric... :kader: :kader: I mean this player shouldn't be there.. :f***:
Drvar 10-10-2004, 01:16:AM i watched the first half, and Iran was very good, i must say i was surprised. There are a few players that dribble really good.
adizlaja 10-10-2004, 01:25:AM Brdaric can finish... and thats what germany lacked in Euro. So why not try him out?

adizlaja 10-10-2004, 01:02:PM i read that the man saved germany's ass in the first half... so why not give him some credit?
INFESTA 10-10-2004, 06:03:PM I am currently watching the game (56 minutes, already 2-0), and it is the typical Germany match: opponent plays much better, dominates the first half, has fantastic chances to score, and Germany scores 2 on them without reply. :|
Hendrik 10-10-2004, 06:33:PM You're getting used to it as a fan. :p

Because he's an arrogant dumb******** (H) I want Hildebrand :rockman:
adizlaja 11-10-2004, 10:29:AM Haha! I dumbass Lehmann critic coach got fired by Klinsman.
Well done!
Hendrik 11-10-2004, 10:33:AM Yeah, Sepp Maier, Germany's gk of the century got fired for backing up Kahn and insulting Lemon.
96 European Champion Andreas Köpke will probably become his successor.
mhflierman 11-10-2004, 06:01:PM :X
damir831 12-10-2004, 02:23:AM Ok first of, Sepp Maier shouldn't have said what he said.
Second of all, I think that the Koepke solutions is the best! I remember when Koepke was number 1 and Kahn would talk **** just like Lehman does now. Kahn would keep saying "I'm better I'm number 1 when Koepke was clearly the better goalie" Koepke knows what Kahn did to him when he was number one so Kahn should feel Koepkes pain now.
And as sad as this may sound, I honestly do believe that Lehman is better than Kahn. I don't think either is a great goalie and Kahn is past his prime. He needs to join WWE or something.
Hildebrand 06
Hendrik 12-10-2004, 07:57:AM Lemon better than Kahn? C'mon, Kahn is still one of the top 3 goalies in the world. He's had a rather bad season but had the worst defenders in front of him compared to Hildebrand and Lehmann. Stuttgart had the best CB duo in the league - Bordon and Meira. Bayern played with Kovac and Linke :X
In my opinion Lehmann is the worst of the almost Dream Team Arsenal. If it wasn't for him they would've gone for in the Champions League.
btw. someone should tell the Iranian fans that the Hitler salute towards a German team is not welcomed anymore. They didn't mean it in a bad way though. Hitler gets praised as a god in the arabic world (Führer of the Arabic World during WW2) because of his anti Jewish views.

Fulham's Moritz Volz has been called up for the first time.
fh_29 17-11-2004, 07:19:AM nice looking stadium there! (H) Germany should win this match.
adizlaja 17-11-2004, 12:36:PM Nice jersey (a little to spain-like tho) and nice stadium. now lets get a nice win.
Deisler 18-11-2004, 11:51:AM 3-0 and the Teutons are back on track... Huge victory ...I don'k know you guys but this week Hitzlsperger scored a tremendous gol with his club Aston Villa. A new phenom is borned.
Deisler 21-11-2004, 01:39:AM The red shirt looks kinda crapy what do you guys think?
Pizarro14 21-11-2004, 01:56:AM how can i put it "it looks soo plain" :X
Hendrik 21-11-2004, 02:07:AM I liked the black one more but it's not too bad.

Hendrik 21-11-2004, 02:17:AM Usually only the Bayern players get booed. :$
Ubik Valis 21-11-2004, 02:27:AM Wow, first Germany starts playing crap like Spain, now they have a kit to match....awesome. (H)
Hendrik 21-11-2004, 02:35:AM We've achieved more than Spain will ever do in this millennium.
You shouldn't talk anyway ... Germany are still better than Crotia, Bosnia and Denmark. (H)
adizlaja 21-11-2004, 02:43:AM How long until a yellow jersey is out?
Internazionale 21-11-2004, 10:41:AM A new Germany in red jersey ? New spirit, eh ? :p
The jersey looks just allright. 7/10.
Great new jersey, beautiful new stadium, and great result!:)
Elber2k3 22-11-2004, 08:47:PM Actually the red jersey is nothing new.

hdabmx 23-11-2004, 05:08:AM Why Germany uses the white color if that color is not in his national flag?
I think they should wear Red shirt with black shorts and yellow socks.:)
Ubik Valis 23-11-2004, 05:12:AM Or not.
Hendrik 23-11-2004, 05:40:AM All German national teams have been wearing white jerseys since the beginning of the 20th century. Changing that would be...gay :|
Some might get the wrong impression about the new jersey though: black-white-red and "Sieg" chants through the whole stadium:crazyboy:
I think I'll be getting the old black jersey. Don't know what name to have on the back: Schweinsteiger definitely not. :D Ballack, Kuranyi or Lahm
adizlaja 23-11-2004, 06:33:AM How about Metzelder?;)

Frostwolf 20-12-2004, 07:45:PM Yeah, Lee's goal was great.
I loved this game. Sure brought my moody mood back to optimum.
Lee Dong Gook. Hah, good for him. Hopefully he won't be all airheaded. Seems to be on track for that principle though, as he is just going to concentrate in the World Cup and Pohang in the K-League.

denrze 22-12-2004, 07:06:PM I like very much what Klinsmann has done in the last few months. I was sceptical when he became National Team Coach after the Euro but he convinced me. He is not under influence of any German Club like Bayern, Dortmund, Schalke. That could have been a problem with hitzfeld. Additionally, he is not afraid to modernize the whole system or fire veteran members of the NT Team staff.
The team has a new identity, the always want to control the game and play offensive football using Germany's traditional fighting strength. Robert Huth and Per Mertesacker are the new starting defenders, both 20 or 21 and they play very good, same for Lahm or Hinkel, also very young players. I am very optimistic and think we will have a strong team in 2006.
Hendrik 22-12-2004, 09:56:PM Yep, he's doing a great job. He only needs to get rid of Kahn and Lemon and put Hildebrand in goal.

SCHOLL WANTS GERMAN RETURN (http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=261050&CPID=22&CLID=&lid=9&title=Scholl+wants+German+return&channel=Germany)
Bayern Munich veteran Mehmet Scholl would be ready to help Jurgen Klinsmann and return to play for Germany should the coach feel that he is in need of a creative midfielder.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know he's my favourite player, so damn that's great!
adizlaja 08-03-2005, 07:21:AM Maybe if he stops getting injured...
Anyone think it is possible for Metzelder to get back into the squad before WC 06?
Klobb 08-03-2005, 07:24:AM Originally posted by -Vince-
Yep, he's doing a great job. He only needs to get rid of Kahn and Lemon and put Hildebrand in goal. Lemon= Lehmann?
adizlaja 25-03-2005, 09:08:AM Anyone have a roster for Fridays U21 match against England?

Hendrik 25-03-2005, 07:05:PM What a crappy joke :nape: :ewan:
Probable line-up for tomorrow:
------------------------ Kahn ------------------

------------ Baumann ------------- Frings --------------
------------------------ Ballack ------------------------
------ Podolski --------- Kuranyi ---------- Neuville -----
Reserve: Lehmann, B. Schneider, Owomoyela, Borowski, Klose, Schweinsteiger, Mertesacker, Hitzlsperger
Klobb 25-03-2005, 07:08:PM I despise Lehmann.

Hendrik 25-03-2005, 10:42:PM U21 qualifying game: England 2-2 Germany
A blunder from Liverpool keeper Scott Carson cost England's Under-21s a win against Germany as his poor clearance led to a late equaliser and unlikely 2-2 draw.
After an even first period the visitors took the lead through Stefan Kiessling only for quick-fire goals from Darren Bent and Dean Ashton to give Peter Taylor's side the lead.
The home side seemed certain to collect the three points before Carson's low clearance was deflected to Roberto Hilbert who superbly side-footed the ball into the empty net.
The result was harsh on England who deserved the points based on their second half play. The draw keeps the sides level at the top of Group Six on 11 points apiece.
England attempted to pile the pressure on Germany early on with Bent closing down keeper Michael Rensing, while the visitors looked a threat on the break at Hull's KC Stadium.
With The Young Lions keen to stop break before they developed Liam Ridgewell was booked for a robust challenge on Kiessling.
Ashton tested Rensing from distance after collecting James Milner's deft touch, however the Bayern Munich ace was well positioned and made a comfortable save.
Just moments later Carson was at full stretch to push Christian Pander's booming free-kick just wide to keep the score goalless.
The chances continued to fall Ashton way, this time Lukas Sinkiewicz slipped in the middle allowing the Norwich man a free shot from Kieran Richardson's cross but he failed to keep it on target.
Germany almost took the lead just before the break when Mike Hanke volleyed a first time effort at Carson with Sahr Senesie's rebound clipping the bar and going over.
Dieter Eilts' came out all guns blazing after the break and took the lead with a wonderfully crafted goal. Kiessling was the benefactor with a well-taken finish from just inside the area.
England's responded in fine style and were level just 69 seconds later when Bent connected with Glen Johnson's right wing cross to head back across Rensing into the net.
Just two minutes later the home side were in front when Ashton collect the ball at the far post to skip past a defender before lashing an unstoppable shot past the Bayern custodian.
The home side were desperately unlucky not to added to their advantage after 75 minutes, but Rensing made a superb double save to deny Richardson and then Bent with the rebound.
Just when it looked like England would see out the game Carson made a hash of his clearnace allowing Germany to pinch an unlikely 2-2 draw.
Podolski scored! What is that, 3 goals in 3 games or something?
I think that it's his second game today. I'm not certain.
He scored 2 in one of the games in Asia, which is the last time he played i think.
Yea, exactly.
It's his third goal in 9 games then.
I meant like the last 3 games he played.
Drvar 26-03-2005, 09:28:PM damn, we are destroying Germany in the second half, got a goal disallowed (was offside), but we are dominating. completely different from the first.
Drvar 26-03-2005, 09:56:PM good thing this was just a friendly, otherwise id be pissed. with our best player injured, and the other best one coming on in the second half because of an injury, this game was ******* excellent for us, atleast the second half. we really shouldve scored on one of those chances. but this is football :).
Hendrik 26-03-2005, 10:13:PM meh some things never change. The players obviously didn't care too much about this game with important domestic and CL games coming up in the near future.
Congrats to the Slovenia, they played with a lot passion and deserved more.
PS: Neuville freaking sucks.
Deisler 27-03-2005, 12:03:AM Neuville? Still? Damnnnnnn
Wasn't Klinsi the inovator?
Deisler 17-05-2005, 07:07:PM Does anyone have the players who will be in the Confederation cup??
Hendrik 17-05-2005, 07:23:PM The squad will be announced soon. Deisler will probably get called up. :)
Deisler 18-05-2005, 06:16:AM He actually made it to the best team of europe this week, refering to the Italian soccer magazine CORRIERE DELLO SPORT. Here it is the best 11 of this week.

2 from the bundesliga. Is this Slovak any good? He scored a decent goal against us and it happened to be the last in Olimpiastadion.
Hendrik 18-05-2005, 03:13:PM Here's the team for the Confederation Cup:
GK: Timo Hildebrand (VfB Stuttgart), Oliver Kahn (Bayern München), Jens Lehmann (FC Arsenal)
Defenders: Arne Friedrich (Hertha BSC Berlin), Andreas Hinkel (VfB Stuttgart), Robert Huth (FC Chelsea), Per Mertesacker (Hannover 96), Patrick Owomoyela (Arminia Bielefeld), Christian Schulz (Werder Bremen)
Midfielders: Michael Ballack (Bayern München), Tim Borowski (Werder Bremen), Sebastian Deisler (Bayern München), Fabian Ernst (Werder Bremen), Torsten Frings (Bayern München), Dietmar Hamann (FC Liverpool), Thomas Hitzlsperger (Aston Villa), Bernd Schneider (Bayer Leverkusen), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern München)
Strikers: Gerald Asamoah (Schalke 04), Mike Hanke (Schalke 04), Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen), Kevin Kuranyi (VfB Stuttgart), Lukas Podolski (1. FC Köln)
Hamnn wtf :|
Schulz, Huth, Kanke, Hitzelsperger, Schweinsteiger
Hendrik 20-05-2005, 03:04:PM Schweinsteiger is having a great season. Besides he's one of the most skilled player on that team.
Huth will develop into a class defender, he's been excellent in his first nt appearences.
Hitzlsperger is left footed, very important since Lahm and Schalke's Pander are out. He will get more playing time next season at Stuttgart.
I'm fine with these young players but Hamann omg. :nape:

Schweinsteiger doesnt have great season by far. The team doesnt accept him and he had some bad games as well, i know it because i'm Dauerkartenbesitzer? and i see him nearly every game.
Huth? I dont think that its worth argueing about him. If he really wants to become a great player he has to leave chelsea and play better football than he does right now.
Youre right iim fine with him since in knw that we need a left footed, but Klins i should have Malik Fathi as well, he playing a great season.
Hamman is ok, if he aint playing in the starting 11.
This should be the starting 11:
----------------Kahn---------------
Owomo-----Friedr----Mertes---Hinkel
----------------Ballack--------------

He's clearly outplayed Ze Roberto and made a huge step forward in his development. Even if you don't like him, he HAS to be on the team, it's not like we have 20 players waiting to take his spot.
As for your team, Schneider is old and inconsistent, Asamoah is crap.

Deisler 22-05-2005, 04:19:PM Asamoah can be playing HIS best season, but i don't think he is consistent in the NT. Ok than i submit, let's try the second division Podolsky.:p
Hendrik 22-05-2005, 04:35:PM Podolski is the best scorer in division two and I bet he will score 15+ goals in the Bundesliga. He's without a doubt the hottest German prospect. Klinsmann has to play him.

O Corinthiano 23-05-2005, 08:32:PM Hey guys can you tell me which players are in the line-up of Germany NT,
and which tactic does Klinsmann use, 4-4-2 or the 3-5-2
Hendrik 23-05-2005, 09:20:PM 4-4-2
and something like this
Kahn
Hinkel -- Friedrich -- Mertesacker -- Lahm
Owomoyela -- Ballack -- Frings -- Schweinsteiger
Kuranyi -- Podolski
Deisler 24-05-2005, 03:00:AM Lahm is out.
Hendrik 24-05-2005, 10:29:AM I know. I thought he asked for the best lineup.
Deisler 24-05-2005, 03:34:PM Metzelder? Deisler? Hitzesplger? Huth?
Hendrik 24-05-2005, 04:17:PM Huth - Friedrich and Mertesacker are better
Hitz - Schweini is much better than him
Deisler/Metzelder - there's no doubt that both belong in the starting team if they're at 100%. Deisler should play at RM to make it an all Bayern midfield. :D Metzelder is a few steps behind Deisler, after being out for almost 3 years it will take some time. I expect him back with the team at the beginning of 2006.
Deisler 24-05-2005, 08:17:PM Nwayz i want to see something like this in 06
1-Hildebrabd
2-Owomeyola
3-Lahm
5-Freidrich
21-Metzelder
10-Deisler
13-Ballack(c)
7-Schweinstainger
6-Frings
22-Kuranyi
9-Podolsky (If he scores 20+ goals this season in the Bundesliga.)
Hendrik 24-05-2005, 08:23:PM Good team except you forgot that we have one of the best goalies around and we should stick with him.
Deisler 24-05-2005, 08:26:PM He is like what 36? 37 on the WC. Nah Hilde is fine man.
Hendrik 24-05-2005, 09:58:PM 37, like Lemon.
Age doesn't matter. Kahn is one of the best goalkeeper in the world and the leader of the team. If him and Hildebrand were on the same level it would be fine with me - but they aren't.

I still have no idea why they even consider Lehman in the NT for Germany. Kahn deserves to be No.1 intill the WC then u can either choose from
Hilden or Rensing
adizlaja 25-05-2005, 12:44:AM Rensing? HAHAHAHH!!! :lui:
How about Weidenfeller or Wiese?
Deisler 25-05-2005, 01:07:AM Rensing? Don't be ridiculos man. The kid has played very few matches. I would call Hans Joerg But. In chase we need to go into penalty kicks. :D

Klobb 30-05-2005, 02:32:AM Lemon, poor fella, always behind Kahn.
Podolski

Bobby 03-06-2005, 06:51:AM There should be no booing of Jens.
That was uncalled for :(
Klose's out of Confed. Cup. Brdaric to take his place. Germany has a very strong midfield but really lacks a pure striker. Asamoah is more of a winger, Poldolski is more of a forward, and Kuranyi can't head the ball that well. Klinsmann should try a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 with wingers, since the team isn't that great up front.

Nice game. We scored after Huth got sent off against a weak opposition team. Ballack MoM as usual.
Asamoah, wow! How was his goal?
I was surprised by the starting line up, especially with the defence. Huth still got lots to learn. I suppose Klinsmann's saving his best players for Russia and the Confed. Cup?

Friedrich is injured, all left backs are injured as well (Lahm, Pander, Schultz). That looked like the best team to me, you can argue about whether to start Schneider/Ernst or Deisler/Schweini.
Kahn and Lehmann will share playing time until WC, this includes the Confed Cup.
Asamoah, wow! How was his goal?
Pass Ballack, ball deflected by an opposition player, Asamoah in front of the goal, scores.

No. He was an unused sub.
Hendrik 08-06-2005, 03:49:PM Tonight's the last friendly game before the Confed Cup. I hope we play some good football against the Russians in the first game at the new Borussia Park.
Deisler 08-06-2005, 04:40:PM Who is starting tonigh?
MAn the dfb.de is such a lazy web sute. Very few info and pic available from the NT.
Deisler 09-06-2005, 06:00:PM 2-2 against Russia.
Schweini scored twice. :rockman:
Hendrik 09-06-2005, 06:06:PM Schweini and Podolski played very well together. It's nice to see a German team that finally has some ball skills.
Hitz looked lost out there at LB. We have no better player to cover that spot since Lahm, Pander and Schulz are all out.
Frings was crap, too. Ernst should get a chance in the next games.
Deisler 09-06-2005, 06:43:PM Hitz is gifted shotwise. I mean he almost scored in a shot in the second half. He is short and agile, reminds me Haessler and Kuntz. I hope Aston Villa plays him more or even better he moves to a better club. Playing defense is not his possition so i wouldnt be bothered by that.
I never liked Frings. He is a warrior partially. Very inconsistent. In that position i would prefer Sebastian Kehl play if he gets back on his top. How long will Lahm's injury go on? I miss him already. :nape:

treble41 29-06-2005, 04:41:AM I'd say that it'd be a good idea to get German players like Hamann and Hitzelspberger back in Germany so the league improves too. Still has the best average attendance though.
Hendrik 30-06-2005, 12:16:AM Back in the good old days half the team played in the Serie A. This hurt the league but the nt benefited from it (kinda like the French between 98 and 02).
Hitz is going to Stuttgart, this leaves Hamann and huth as the only player playing in a foreign league. How those guys would make the league stronger is beyond me.
Anyway back to the game today. I was really amazed to see all the young guns playing so amazingly together on the offensive end. I can't remember watching a German nt with such technical skills. What a pleasure to watch.
treble41 30-06-2005, 12:28:AM Rudi Voller was just a crappy manager even if he was a good player. Germany might've had a chance in the World Cup final if he'd played players like Ziege, Jancker, and Beirhoff instead of subsituting them in at the end. When I saw the starting line ups, I almost cried because I saw how Germany was going to have little chance against Brazil's best starting 11. Klinsmann though is good at selecting the team, and when he selects a B side, he's got good reasons for his selections. It'll pay off because football is still popular in Germany but it's losing popularity with kids in England, Italy, etc because they're more interested in video games and stuff.

That's what you get when you let a former worldclass striker coach your nt. ;)
EDIT: Watching a delayed version of Germany-Meixco. What's wrong with Mike Hanke :D? Does he do these kinda things a lot at Schalke?
Nah. Well, because he usually doesn't play at all at Schalke. Wolfsburg bought him for about 4 million.
Vagegast 30-06-2005, 02:17:AM That's what you get when you let a former worldclass striker coach your nt. ;)Yeah, that's why we put van Basten in charge :jap:
Haha, Kahn just tried to chase down this player but backed off quickly (H)
treble41 30-06-2005, 02:20:AM Germany's still probably one of the most disciplined or the disciplined sides in the world so you can't base them on Mike Hanke getting a card once in a while.
Deisler 30-06-2005, 06:19:AM Yeah, that's why we put van Basten in charge :jap:
Haha, Kahn just tried to chase down this player but backed off quickly (H)
It doesn't work for Holland, they already were an attacking team. Van Basten is doing something i really lke. He is not feeding the "spectacular but loosing" kind of game but he is persuading the "Normal and effective" kind of soccer...
Good luck to him.
As far as this tournament goes we did show that we are a new attacking force.. I mean in 5 games we scored 15 goals averaging an amasing 3 goals for game but we also allowed 11 goals, that makes a 2.2 goals for game....Thats a mess... me miss Metzelder :( ...and Lahm :(

Good luck to him.Ironically during his press conference he said that he wanted to play attacking entertaining football. But you're right, we've been playing pretty ****ty and we're winning. We played absolute crap against Finland but ended up winning 4-0. The game goes for domestic football, Hiddink adopted a more defensive and realistic style of play with PSV and look where it got them.
With Germany though, it's fun to see them play offensive and score goals because they're so much better when they play offensively rather than defensively. Is Klinsmann taking heat for being so lax when it comes to the defense? In Holland, no one is ever satisfied with a win if the team didn't perform well.
Deisler 30-06-2005, 07:25:AM Not really. I mean he is doing what he can with a second tier of defenders. (Other than Mertesacker none of the defenders in the confederations cup is a starter) When Lahm and Metzelder will be back we might get a better and more reliable defence. Curiosly though both of them are very attack-minded. Lahm reminds me of Lizarazu, he can start a counterattack just like that. Metzelder is very good in lauching the ball after soffocating an opponent attack.
adizlaja 30-06-2005, 08:14:AM Metzelder might not be completely ready for the World Cup. His play with Dortmund for the time he played was pretty poor for his standards. However, after going through summer training and hopefully remaining fit, he should be good to go.
Worns is good if CMetz isnt ready.
Hendrik 30-06-2005, 12:53:PM Or Nowotny. :nape:
Is Klinsmann taking heat for being so lax when it comes to the defense? In Holland, no one is ever satisfied with a win if the team didn't perform well.
The German mentality is a bit different ("tomorrow no one will care HOW we won the game only THAT we won it").
Every expert like Beckenbauer is amazed though by the attacking style.
treble41 30-06-2005, 07:39:PM If Germany can get a solid team without so many injuries then they can beat Brazil seeing how they have a good manager now. Thomas Fink retired though didn't he and Sebastien Kehl just dissapeared off the face of the planet. Ziege was always good in defence. No one can matc Lahm's speed though, Lahm could be a left midfielder.
Hendrik 30-06-2005, 07:44:PM Who's Thomas Fink?
edit: (H) http://img279.imageshack.us/img279/4705/podolski6ql.gif
Hendrik 10-08-2005, 02:37:PM Klinsmann called up the team that will face Holland next weeks. Podolski and Schweinsteiger will be rested, the following players who were either injured or rested during the Confed Cup are back.
Dietmar Hamann - meh too old
Oliver Neuville - :sb9: :sb9: :sb9: :sb9: :sb9:
Christian Wörns - at least better than Huth
Miroslav Klose - in good form :bouncy:
Metzelder and Lauth have to wait for their first call ups after longterm injuries.
Klobb 10-08-2005, 03:23:PM Ehh Neuville, Hamman and Worns are alright, KLOSE!11111 :hit: bless poland for klose and podolski
Hendrik 10-08-2005, 05:42:PM Podolski will be on the cover of Fifa 2006 together with Rooney and Ronaldinho.
http://bz.berlin1.de/aktuell/sport/050810/Poldi_Andruck.TORJDEQ/4_big.jpg
Klobb 10-08-2005, 05:46:PM Holy Sh** Yes Thats Sick Looking.
That has to be only for the German version.
:o
Hendrik 10-08-2005, 06:10:PM Yep.
Deisler 10-08-2005, 07:43:PM Looks pretty decent.
Neuville?
Klose?
Woerns?
:sb9:
WTF...I hope he is not planing to get those maggots in the world cup. :hit:
Hendrik 10-08-2005, 07:52:PM C'mon, at least Klose has to be in the WC team. He's had a good season with Bremen, 15 goals and 9 assists on a good team. Furthermore he has the experience of one WC and CL footie which most others lack.
A striking force of Podolski, Kuranyi, Klose and Lauth would give Klinsmann nice options.
Deisler 10-08-2005, 07:57:PM I'd rather have Hanke over Lauth. I love the way he moves without the ball. I was watching the highlights of the Wolfsburg game and he was pretty positional. He didn't score but was a countinious moving object. :D
Hendrik 10-08-2005, 08:06:PM Hanke would be suspended for the first two games at the WC because of the red card he received at the Confed Cup. His chances are very low now.
Deisler 10-08-2005, 08:17:PM Why can't the suspention be fulfited in friendlies? And how come is 2 weeks?
adizlaja 10-08-2005, 11:38:PM That would be stupid if it could be fulfilled with friendlies... it has to be official matches. Hanke isnt **** anyway so who cares...
Germany is trying to recruit BVB's youngster Nuri Sahin... he can still pick if he wants to play for Turkey or Germany. :bouncy:
Internazionale 16-08-2005, 02:04:PM I see a-Total-Football Germany under Klinsmann.
Can Klinsmann at least try Timo Hildebrand in a friendly match against Netherlands ?
Hendrik 16-08-2005, 02:55:PM Klinsmann has decided to keep the gk rotation until the WC. Kahn and Lehmann will be playing 3 games each, when one plays the other one won't be in the squad.
God, can't he just name Kahn the no.1? We absolutely have no problem at the gk position.
Klobb 16-08-2005, 03:08:PM WTF! Seriously, he needs to just set Kahn in, Lehmann can take being the backup, thats what hes done his whole life for germany.
Internazionale 17-08-2005, 10:20:AM Kahn and Lehmann will be playing 3 games each, when one plays the other one won't be in the squad.
Speaking of which, the 2 GK blast each other for battling the #1 GK position.
EDIT: I don't know if this is true. Klinsmann will drop either Kahn or Lehmann in the final rosters WC 2006 for the benefit atmosphere for the team itself.
Elber2k3 23-08-2005, 03:08:PM Klinsmann has already nominated the players for the upcoming matches.
Slovakia - Germany, September 3 in Bratislava.
Germany - South Africa, September 7 in Bremen.
Cologne's Lukas Sinkiewicz and Gladbach's Marcell Jansen have been nominated the first time for the German A-Nationalteam.
Goalkeeper: 23 Timo Hildebrand (VfB Stuttgart), 9 Jens Lehmann (Arsenal London)
Defence: 3 Arne Friedrich (Hertha BSC Berlin), 2 Andreas Hinkel (VfB Stuttgart), Marcell Jansen (Borussia Mönchengladbach), 29 Per Mertesacker (Hannover 96), 25 Patrick Owomoyela (Werder Bremen), Lukas Sinkiewicz (1. FC Köln), 4 Christian Wörns (Borussia Dortmund)
Midfield: 13 Michael Ballack, 26 Sebastian Deisler, 7 Bastian Schweinsteiger (alle Bayern München), 18 Tim Borowski, 8 Torsten Frings (beide Werder Bremen), 15 Fabian Ernst (Schalke 04), 6 Thomas Hitzlsperger (VfB Stuttgart), 19 Bernd Schneider (Bayer Leverkusen)
Attack: 14 Gerald Asamoah, 22 Kevin Kuranyi (beide Schalke 04), 11 Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen), 20 Lukas Podolski (1. FC Köln)
Hendrik 23-08-2005, 03:14:PM Two more 19 year olds. This is great news, Jansen is a better LB than all the other LBs currently available. Arsenal are after him.
Sinkiewicz is solid, can't be worse than Wörns or Huth.
adizlaja 23-08-2005, 09:11:PM Why does Schneider keep getting called up? Kringe is a much better player and he is younger.
Klobb 23-08-2005, 10:22:PM Why does Schneider keep getting called up? Kringe is a much better player and he is younger.
Maybe he wants an older experienced player?..
adizlaja 23-08-2005, 10:25:PM His experience sure showed at Euro... He is trash and doesnt deserve a spot.
Deisler 23-08-2005, 11:24:PM Lehman number 9? WTF?
WilliamFAlmeida 23-08-2005, 11:27:PM awwww Lincoln got rejected....too bad, you couldve had another solid Brazilian :hump:
Hendrik 23-08-2005, 11:38:PM I think he can make it to his native nt one day, he's a brilliant playmaker.
treble41 25-08-2005, 09:02:PM The reply they made to Lincoln's statement was stupid. They flat out rejected him. I would've said: "We're happy that Lincoln is intrested in the national team and we're intrested in him since he's a proven player. We will monitor him in the future and if we like what we see, we may call him up to the national side."
I hope that they didn't hurt the guys feeling or anything because he could be useful in the future.
Hendrik 25-08-2005, 09:47:PM Dude, the point is not that Lincoln wouldn't be useful for the nt, there's no doubt about that, he just has absolutely no connections to the country. Everyone knows he wants play for Germany because he doesn't see a perspective to play for his native nt in the near future.
treble41 28-08-2005, 01:04:AM So? My brother was born in NZ but he'd rather play for Canada, not just football but rugby, cricket, etc.
Klobb 28-08-2005, 02:20:AM Yeh, you can't always just decide to switch countries, players sometime want to play for their country because they have pride in their country, Lincoln just can't get onto his native nt so heslooking for a way out.
Just like Ailton, he said he'd like to play for Qatar if they select him. :|
Deisler 28-08-2005, 02:04:PM If Germany allows Lincoln play for the NT, i'll switch to France...
Fvck no id rather cheer for Aruba instead. :D
Hendrik 30-08-2005, 10:47:AM Every week a new name who doesn't get a chance to play for his own nt so he wants to play for us.
This time it's Bayern's Valerien Ismaël. He's born in Elsace and has a German girl-friend. :boohoo:
Meh he should have no problem getting into the French nt.
Klobb 30-08-2005, 02:45:PM wtf, he could get into french NT..
Elber2k3 30-08-2005, 03:21:PM I wouldn't have a problem with him playing in the German nationalteam.
He speaks better German, than some Germans and he is from Elsace. There are still some people who consider themself as Germans and not as French.
I don't know how Ismael thinks about this.
And according to Kicker Ismael still wants to play for France.
Click (German) (http://www.kicker.de/content/news/artikel.asp?folder=7100&object=319984&liga=1&saison=2005%2F06&spieltag=3&gruppe=18157)

Hendrik 30-08-2005, 03:28:PM Looks good, I have to get used to that font though.
I wouldn't have a problem with him playing in the German nationalteam.

I don't know how Ismael thinks about this.
The problem is he said: "if I don't get into the French nt Germany will be an option" He can bugger off.

I would have prefered a white retro kit.
Oh I didn't know. Where did he say this? Bild?
Hendrik 30-08-2005, 03:38:PM yes http://kicker.de/content/news/artikel.asp?folder=7100&object=319984&liga=1&saison=2005%2F06&spieltag=3&gruppe=18157
Klobb 30-08-2005, 03:52:PM Cool kit, i prefer old one, still nice though
Deisler 31-08-2005, 06:00:AM I can't see the pics of the kit. any links? :boohoo:
Fvck Ismael. I mean come on it's getting ridicoulus
Klobb 31-08-2005, 01:18:PM THis is a fake, but it looks exactlylike it almost..

Hendrik 02-09-2005, 03:40:PM Tomorrow Germany will play Slovakia in Bratislava.
Probable line-up:
----------------------------- Lehmann ------------------------------
-- Friedrich ------- Mertesacker ------- Sinkiewicz ----------------- Jansen ---
----------------------------- Ernst/Frings --------------------------------
------------- Deisler ----------------------------- Schweinsteiger ------------
-------------------------------- Ballack -------------------------------
----------------------- Kuranyi ------------ Podolski -----------------------
Lehmann will wear the #9 from now on. :boohoo:
Klobb 02-09-2005, 11:48:PM Damn** Klinsmann Choose Kahn Permanently
treble41 03-09-2005, 02:18:AM Podolski should be 9. Good test for Jansen and Sinkiewicz
Games started, Podolski and Schweinsteiger not playing, nor is Sinkiewicz or Jansen. :( Worns still in the first XI :|
EDIT: LOL @ Lehmann with the number 9!!
EDIT 2: **** Mertesacker gave away a penalty. 1-0 Slovakia. Lehmann jumped to his left 2 seconds before the guy hit the ball.
Hendrik 03-09-2005, 08:01:PM 1-0 to Slovakia
my god what a crap team Klinsmann is playing, I'm about to throw up :nape:
Agreed. Lehmann; Owo...., Mertesacker, Worns, Hitzelsberger; Ernst; Deisler, Ballack, Schneider; Asamoah, Klose. Half of them wouldn't even be in the team under a different coach.
Voltaic Borusse 03-09-2005, 08:05:PM Worns?! :wootman:
Haha someone kicked a ball at Klinsmann, he's pissed now.
Hendrik 03-09-2005, 08:11:PM Agreed. Lehmann; Owo...., Mertesacker, Worns, Hitzelsberger; Ernst; Deisler, Ballack, Schneider; Asamoah, Klose. Half of them wouldn't even be in the team under a different coach.
Wörns--Sinkiewicz
Hitz--Jansen
Schneider--Schweini
Asamoha-Podolski
This team would be a lot better and more entertaining
edit: 2-0 what a joke of a defense
**** 2-0. Lehmann should do his talking on the pitch. What a joke he's been. The defense looked pretty bad too. Klinsmann better do something at halftime.
EDIT: Excellent, Schweinsteiger and Podolski are warming up.
