View Full Version : WHY MANCHESTER UNITED HAS THE WORST SYSTEM FOR TRANSFERS AND TEAM REBUILDING

Okay quick summary this is the other side of Manchester people often forget. Dennis Irwin, Van Der Gowe, Teddy Sherringham, Berg etc.

All very very old players in soccer terms which are threatening to leave the team with open spaces that will leave them vulnarable.

United were willing to resign Schmicheal, why for the love of god i dont know! That would only dig their grave deeper. Instead of signing middle aged veterans and only relying on your youth system for players eg Beckham, Scholes, Nevilles etc get some decent young transfer players.

There are plenty out there!! Phil Neville is not a natural left footed player. You need one so get one!

Quit the middle age keeper crap and sign a good young star. Buffon who ever you cheap punks have the damn money.

And get a young striker so that your not left with Cole and Yorke being the strike force in champions league through their mid 30ies.

Why not sign some exciting talent like wonder boy Ronaldinhio or Felippe United could badly use these players.

LOL
Erm....that's kind of a silly argument - "relying on their youth system for players" - isn't that what a youth system is for - so you don't have to buy players? And besides, that same youth system has produced Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and the Neville brothers, not to mention they have Jonathon Greening, Michael Twiss and Luke Chadwick comming up. I'm a Liverpool fan, so I have no great love for United, but you can't deny the fact that they're youth system has been excellent.

That youth system for getting youth players appears to me to have produced the same very decent young players you are whining about them buying.
Even more amusing is that you seem to completely ignore the depth of the Man Utd squad.
Its been about a decade now of Man Utd being at the top or very near the top of the English competitions. Not bad for all those old guys and tight fisted management ideas and reliance on a youth policy.......

Gotta agree with Juninhio with some things. The whole keeper situation Fergie totally screwed up. He should've gone out and signed a u/21 keeper ( Like Nielsen whom they apparently were watching at one stage ) , that way by the time Schmeichel left he would be ready. They didn't, instead they signed Bosnich for free, he played okay, they signed Taibi, he played utter crap, then Van der gouw had a chance, and now it's back to Bosnich.
I also agree with his youth buying statement. Just look what Wenger did at arsenal, bought a relative unknown youngster for 500k and two years on after many good goals for us sold him for 23mill. Same goes for Manninger, bought as a talented goalie, now he's Austria's no 1 ( last I heard ).
Man utd have brought a lot of good quality players through their youth system, but if their youth system was that great then where's the young striker and goalie that can step up to the first team ?
The problem that man utd is gonna have pretty soon is to keep those young stars they brought through. Yes sure, a lot of them want to play for man utd and blah blah blah. But sooner or later an italian team is gonna offer one of them( beckham most likely ) a wage offer they can't refuse.

Why tamper with a winning combination.
Don`t underestimate the aged ok.
Look at the Arsenal back 5 all of which aged between 33 and 36 let me remind you they are the reining best defence in europe. How can you say that manu will be left with Yorke and Cole, have you heard of Solskjaer. You know the guy that comes of the bench every now and then that scores four goals.

WHY WOULD RONALDINHIO GO TO A TEAM THAT IS ON THE WAY DOWN?? He's gonna transfer to Barcelona at the end of the year anyway.

Beckham and Giggs are barely in their mid-20s, and Yorke and Cole and are still incredible.
Solskjaer and Sheringham, able to score quick goals against any opponent.
A youth system which continues to produce quality players.
And Schmeichel? What the heck? He's probably still one of the best 4-5 goalkeepers in Europe, and his leadership abilities are (some say) more influential than Keane's.
Just check his character in FIFA's '99 Denmark squad.

The exact opposite of United's style is Internazionale Milan, buying hordes of players for millions of dollars with no youth, and hey - look where they are now....

And, as said, Manchester are beating everyone around, so what seems to be the problem?

There's no way but down after winning a treble.

Canoe - It'll have to be some offer, to buy one of the best players from the richest club in Europe.

Sella, If the italians are willing to pay 30m+ for Vieri then surely Beckham can't be out of reach for them. And it shouldn't be too difficult to tempt him away, especially with his ol wife nagging bout life in boring manchester all the time and how they should move abroad.
