Hey everyone stop bagging kewell. why is everyone just singleing him out as the only person who dives, there is alot more people that dive that just him. and why were the english press giving him such a hard time.

Kewell is a brilliant, clean, no-nonsence player. One of my fav`s. and his reputation of this is his enemy here you see knowone expects a player like Kewell to dive. It would be like seeing Tony Adams or Roy Keane take a dive.

Give kewell a brake. **** the english if they were so much into flair play they would have given that World Cup they won by cheating to portugal that really deserved and played fair.

Two more dives in England last week but no one makes a big deal about it couse it wasnt a Frenchman or an Aussie doing it. If they complain so much about dives why no one said a word when Owen dived in WC 98? I went to English pub and all the Brits said "we got you back for Maradona, you dirty Argies". When you notice someone elses cheating, but ignore your own that makes you a hypocrite!

It's always the way in the UK when England do well (not that that happens very often) they are always English.
Now if Scotland do well(and I know that happens even less)all of a sudden they would be British. Then if there was trouble with English fans abroad (and we all know how often that happens) then they would be British too,

Are u people ignorant ,diving is the best thing this sport has to offer .I dont know whats wrong with that .If Kewell wants to learn to master dives he should come to Italy or Spain ,Ortega can teach him.Kewell will learn from the master of divers.

Ok maybe in italy you enjoy diving, well you must cause you games are dominated by it but it`s ruining the real game...the Brittish game.

The Australian National Soccer League hardly ever has much diving. All the people that don't like diving come to Australia, cause I go to a lot of matches and i don't think there is hardly any diving.

True, Australian soccer is clean yet it lacks in class. I`ve been to a few Strikers games and it`s nothing like going to Celtic Park and Easter Road the game and atmosphere hasn`t got any passion in it.

brisbane strikers are coming equal 2nd now aren't they. i go to the parramatta power games at parramatta stadium cause its near to my house .ive been to about 10 matches already this season. all the matches only get around 6000 each week although a couple of the top matches there it has been raining the whole day so that has affected the crowd.

There is no reply, in any language, that can fully do justice to the stupidity of that statement.

I hope you meant something else. If not, may I suggest Springboard Diving - it's an Olympic Sport, they have this springboard over a swimming pool and the atheletes do specific 'dives' into the pool and are awarded points for their dives. I'm sure you would find this kind of diving even more technically proficient than that in football.

Michael Owen wasn't even touched when he got that penalty against Argentina. But Seaman definitely took a lunge at whoever I can't remember, but Batistuta converted the penalty, but Shearer scored a fake penalty.
Poetic justice in one way, as the game finished with England losing on penalties.

I do remember Shearer missing a penalty vs. Poland in 97, in WC qualifier, he kicked it wide left. The best PK taker in England is Matt LaTissier, you didn't know that? his ratio was 48 out of 49 tries or some such ridiculously hign number.

Salamo, good point, getting back to the topic, I agree with Aussie Soccer, the English press is always like that, one day they'll sing a player's praises and the next they're out for him. I DON'T condone diving, and I cringe when my fav. players do it - ie Owen, but it's a double standard, Owen dived for England vs Argentina and the nation didn't mind it - I did, and I still do, that's not the way the game was meant to be played, it's cheating no matter how u look at it, and Owen's too good a player to dive, that said, when he 'dived' against West Ham (he really just fell, and it wasn't a dive, because he didn't even bother to appeal for the penalty) the press now label's owen a diver.
Sad to say, but there are a growing number of players who dive and I think it's unfair to pick on Kewell, we should pick on ALL OF THEM and then perhaps it would stop.

BTW - For those of you who remember him in his hayday (1986-1990) doesn't the way Harry Kewell play remind u of JOHN BARNES?!?! Get out the old tapes and take a look, the aussie kid is awesome.

What im trying to say that in almost every game(including the premier league)theres always someone who cheats whether you like it or not.

I agree, every game you watch someone cheats, or tries to cheat, or does dirty basted thing like giving the elbow to the back of your head when the ref is not looking.
No doubt about it, if you think otherwise you not watching closely.
If they people played fair we wouldnt need refs...
