I'll admit I ripped this idea off from pro wrestling games. But I think it would be interesting to play as the referee. You get to decide when fouls are called, when to issue red and yellow cards, when to give penalties, etc. Mostly this idea was born out of the horrible officiating the CPU does, I could hit a guy with a bat and play on. But I think it would be fun to be the referee in a match between two of your friends.

Just a thought.

it would have to be a whole different game, and i don't know how fun it would be after a game or two, i would just get bored.

Wouldn't have to be a whole different game would it? You just watch the game, hit a button to give a foul, hit another button to give a card . . .

maybe add it to online play.....

if you do a bad job people can report you and stuff...

^Who cares what you think?

I'd like to see it as a way to fix EA's poor referee AI. A computer will never do as good a job as a human making calls like what is and isn't a foul, and what deserves a card. Also, it would enable another person to be involved in the game, increasing multiplayer enjoyment.

i personally wouldn't really want to be the ref, maybe for 1 or 2 games.

It would be nice for online play (i still wouldn't be the ref)

But i guess if enough people want it.....:confused:

a referee mode would give the FIFA series something that other soccer games don't have

but its no use if its not really needed or is something no one wants.
its an interesting idea though

For very little extra work, it would give them another thing to put on the box cover. Like I said, they have this in wrestling games, and it's surprisingly fun.

the only thing i'd ever consider this for is online play.....


and dont forget, in wrestling the refs can also get smacked on the head:D

(not to say that doesn't happen in football...............)

When fifa 2007 say comes out, PS3 should be out which means better graphics and it will be able to handle more detailed games, mayby then EA would bring in alot of new features
