Mikey 12-08-2004, 07:01:AM these specialty channels are always a let down. well in my opinion at least
Hakeem 12-08-2004, 07:07:AM yeah well. the SciFi Channel is not that bad though they should really start showing better movies even if they're unknown.
The Horror Channel seems to be in a good direction plus check out the Producers/Board of Directors:
- John Carpenter
- Don Coscarelli
- Roger Corman
- Wes Craven
- Guillermo del Toro
- Lucky McKee
- George Romero
- Eli Roth
- Tom Savini
- Rob Zombie
and more

Yeah, you can say that again.
Sci-Fi Channel, anyone?
Mikey 12-08-2004, 07:26:AM Ya, i have an Action channel, other than 'Walker Texas Ranger' and the odd movie, its a pretty crappy channel. Same can be said about Cartoon channel. Two channels with endless potential, but they fail to deliver.

nobody f*cks with Walker
Voltaic Borusse 12-08-2004, 07:51:AM You like Walker Texas Ranger, Mikey? :D
AhmedK 12-08-2004, 07:59:AM What are you guys talking about? Cartoon Network, The Sci-fi channel, AMC and TMC(the classics), are all great channels.
Voltaic Borusse 12-08-2004, 08:05:AM Cartoon Network's alright, they show Sealab 2021, and we all know that show kicks.
AMC, TMC, Sci-Fi, = teh suck
IceBlu 12-08-2004, 08:30:AM yep. Apart from Cartoon Network they all suck. Sci-Fi has to be the worst of the bunch.
I don't see how this Horror Channel is going to be any better though.
there are like 10 Horror Movies that can be called excellent and about another 20 that would be average .... but the rest is just TRASH. Bats, a graveyard, some zombies, ketchup for blood.....
I honestly think this channel is going to be a huge flop. I mean for how long can they keep showing the Exorcist, Omen and the shining ?
Limberopoulos21 12-08-2004, 08:41:AM They can always show rosie O'donnel, now that's scary. If she ever came here to canada I'd be like "hey jimbo, get my shovel!"
Vagegast 12-08-2004, 10:25:AM Hakeem, do you know what cable/satellite companies will carry it? Cox? Comcast? Dish Network?

probably all the big ones.
but they put the petitions to send to all the local cable stations so go ahead and sign up for yours (Y)
Mikey 12-08-2004, 11:01:AM i shouldve clarified. Cartoon network in canada, its different then the one in states. Comedy network is awful here (they show Just for Laughs 15 times a day) but from visiting my cousins house, i know Comedy Central is pretty good.

well, Im no horror super fan, but true horror fans love all those really bad movies that are made today even direct to video or cable or TV. I like some of those and they end up being really good like Ginger Snaps :hump:
and they love even more the older ones from the 40s to the 60s that were all in B&W :p
I dont know, I think the channel can work. besides, if there's a channel for pretty much all the other genres then this one which has pretty freaky fans will work.
and as I said before, all the big names in horror movies (craven, romero, carpenter) are doing exclusive stuff for the channel so thats a pretty good incentive (Y)

Ya, i have an Action channel...
that one doesnt count (N)
the action channel is part of the Starz/Encore package which has a channel for each genre (action, romance, drama, etc) but they show only movies from the movie studios affiliated to Starz meaning you wont see a movie that was shown on HBO in those channels never.
the The Horror Channel is independent (like the SciFi is too I think) so they get to show all the movies with deals with the producers and having in mind that all the big producers are part of the board of directors of the channel, they'll have all the movies they want :) (Y)
$teauA 12-08-2004, 01:18:PM Boomerang is the best all-cartoon channel by far :rockman:
Looking forward to this one.
Callan 12-08-2004, 06:37:PM I have three channels.
Seven, Nine and Ten.
And I don't watch Seven, it's like the documentary channel, with no documentaries.
Oh yeah, and SBS, ABC and channel 31, but I don't watch them, on SBS for soccer, and I don't watch soccer anymore.
So basically, I have 2 channels.
If i want to see a movie, I hire it, I don't k now about you.
