Stan (the man) Collymore for Liverpool against Blackburn in the premiership.
he had a week low shot which was bobbling slowly towards the keepers hands (Tim Flowers) then it hits something on the ground and bounces above the poor goalie!

Also the Massimo Taibi MISTAKE against southampton for Man Utd when the ball rolled underneath him hehe what a donkey ;p

one more???? hmmmmmmmm it was a goal for Vialli when he was in Italy, that was long time agg he scored from a diving header which isn't that strange, but the thing was that the ball was bobbling on the ground and he threw himself what an effort!

The strangest goal has to be the Conference division match in England(I can't remember the team names)where the ball hit a sea-gull standing on the pitch, on it's head before rolling past the goal-line. The sea-gull was in a state of shock and it fainted.:-)The sea-gull would definately become an overnight star in the "sea-gull soccer scene"!! He! He! :-)

This is a true story.

the one that came to my mind happend in WC98 qualifier Argentina-Colombia, the Colombian keeper thought a soft rolling ball was going wide of the net so he let it go and suddenly it is in the back of the net! he completely misjudged it! anyone else remember that?

Roberto Carlos's half cross half shot in the match Real-Tenerife about 2-3 years ago (Real won 5:3).

Also, one time about 3 years ago in Russian Championship, in a match, a striker dribbled past the keeper and shot it low very hard in the open net, but because of the mud, the ball stopped rolling in the mud just before reaching the goal. Keeper returned and covered the ball. That was the last minute.

Now, this is Filimonov's mistake in Russia - Ukraine match. This goal was alowed on the 87th minute and it tied the game 1:1 and Russia failed to qualify to the Euro 2000 because of that:

After Ukraine tied Russia 1:1 in the last group match, they played Slovenia in the playeoffs. This is the goal Shovkovsky (Ukraine) alowed in Ljubliana, Slovenia:

both o these goals are weird.

Rob Lee v. Brentford.

Keeper off his line and Lee pops it in from behind mid-field.

I wish I could find a clip.

The strangest goal I have ever SEEN was the one specified above, Roberto Carlos's shot/cross, who knows what it was, from literally the goal line, which went in the far post side of the goal. It was so fast that even in the replays it was still a bullet, and the goalkeeper didn't even know what happened. Roberto Carlos just covered his mouth and was amazed at what he had done.

Another one was a shot by Mario Basler of Bayern Munich against another team in the Bundesliga. It was a free kick shot with incredible power that curved right around the whole wall, and to the keeper it seemed as if it was going out, but it curved right back around and went into the near post, and by that time the keeper was beat. That was the most incredible free kick I had ever seen.

My favorite though, was one in a World Cup qualifier between Mexico and the U.S. in Foxboro, MA. Carlos Hermosillo, a forward, challenged the goalkeeper when he had the ball on the ground, and Keller (Keeper) shot it attempting to clear it, but it hit Hermosillo's forehead and it popped really high and fell in the goal, and Keller just watched it go in, since it was too late. That was the funniest goal I had ever seen.

Funniest goal was in SPL match last season - Cletic vs Aberdeen. The Aberdeen striker takes an easy shot which the Keeper catches - no probs. Unfortunately as he goes down on his knees with the ball it slips thru his hands, goes thru his legs and goes into the net...

This one strange goal occured in World Cup 1994 between Saudi Arabia and "Holland" (I think it is Holland), when a Saudi midfielder ran with the ball from the centre towards the "Dutch" goal dribbling past 5 or 7 Dutch players and shot a screw ball past the goal keeper. Can anyone confirm the players he had dribbled past and the team he played against that time.

I think it was in the game S.Arabia vs. Morocco at Giants Stadium that that goal happend where he dribbled the whole team. I will get you more info when on it when i get home.

Btw that goal where Keller practically scored own goal by shooting the ball off Hermosillo's head that was amazing too!

No, that was Saudis vs. Belgium. I liked that goal, that guy dribbled by the whole team, from the center of the pitch. But that goal eliminated Russians from that round (I think that Saudi Arabia qualified to the knock-out stage and Russia didn't)

Two more things:

1. Can anyone give me a link of Roberto Carlos's goal?

2. I know this isn't a goal, but this a funny episode you might wanna see:

The funniest goal I have ever seen was in a minor league. I saw it on a blooper-TV-show in Sweden.
First the keeper made an incredible save on a shot. Then when he was about to throw the ball out to his team mates he didn't let go of the ball so instead he threw the ball into his own goal behind him!

Here's a real Swedish classic... it was the match between IFK Göteborg and Helsingborg in 1995. Jesper Blomqvist runs from the left wing towards the penalty box. The ball comes diagonally from the right, and Blomqvist is one on one with the Helsingborg keeper, Sven Andersson. Instead of receiving the pass, Blomqvist continues to run while the ball goes the other way. The keeper is totally confused and Blomqvist runs behind him and shoots the ball into the empty net!

Big Duncan Ferguson's 30yd scorcher which he kicked midway between knee and foot right in his shins...that was a strange but fantastic goal
