View Full Version : How good will Football Manager 05 be?
Yeah!! Im the first to start a thread in the FM forum. yay
Ok, this poll might look sily, but what do you think, Will FM05 be better than its predecessors in the king of management games thrown? (H)
rpvankasteren 27-08-2004, 06:05:PM W00t, I'm the first to vote on the first poll in the first thread :rockman:
It'll be way better. :jap:
oh damn... forgot to do that first :f***: :p
Ebonix 27-08-2004, 06:18:PM Hopefully it will be allot better that 02-03 & 03-04 and be more like 01-02 (H)
yea, hopefully. I think it will be an improvement, but I dont realy think it will be MUCH better
Zlatan 27-08-2004, 06:27:PM lol when I got here I thought where is the CM forum? anyways of what I've read and seen FM is going to rule all management games. I like the new media involvement.
PSVFOREVER 27-08-2004, 08:10:PM I voted slightly better, it got good new options, but I am afraid it will be even slower.
yeah, same here. I read that CM03/04 (b4 release) was gonna be faster than Cm4, but it was actualy slower, so...
rpvankasteren 27-08-2004, 08:42:PM The first season, maybe. The ones after that were way faster for me
shokz 27-08-2004, 11:10:PM Slighty better.
it will be a lot better ,it just depends how much better
TROD.
Slightly better i think. Pretty hard to beat CM 01/02 and CM 03/04, 2 masterpieces in my opinion.
rpvankasteren 28-08-2004, 01:03:AM On a side note:
The second patch for NHL:EHM was released by SI earlier today.
good good, i might get that whens its reduced
TROD.
TottiNZidaneR#1 28-08-2004, 04:36:AM I think it will be a lot better, just kinda scared for my computer:kader: Damn its weak.
Neil_SI 28-08-2004, 08:59:AM We are confident that Football Manager 2005 will run faster and more smoothly than CM4 and CM 03/04. There have been a number of refinements and optimizations carried out on the engine and work is still continuing on this aspect.
What we will not be doing is sacrificing gameplay or features for the sake of speed. The game has had new features implemented but is actually faster than before due to the optimizations made.
Fernandez 28-08-2004, 02:04:PM better

blablabla, CM03/04 was supposed to be faster too.... I don't believe anything of it. I think my 256mb RAM PC is screwed:(
If you use Kazaa or something along these lines i reckon you should do a virus scan. I thought i had the same problem (RAM being screwed) because my Athlon XP 2. something was slower than a 486 sometimes, but it was all about adware and a few trojans.
Can't stop the rush... 28-08-2004, 10:54:PM Originally posted by PSVFOREVER

I know this shouldn't matter but RAM is very cheap now days.:$
PSVFOREVER 28-08-2004, 11:25:PM I'm very poor nowadays :$
well, no actually, but the PC isn't mine, and the owner (my mother) doesn't want to change it. :f***: She thinks it ****s up the PC
Fernandez 28-08-2004, 11:41:PM If you have Kazaa, uninstall it. My game became faster after that.
PSVFOREVER 28-08-2004, 11:59:PM Don't have Kazaa, and I'm happy about the gamespeed (it's actually pretty fast), but I think it won't be fast in FM
rpvankasteren 29-08-2004, 12:44:AM Your mom won't like the cost eitherway. It's still €100,- for 256MB PC2700 (333MHz) not just some petty change.

That's a ridiculous price, 256 MB DDR ram should be something like US$40~50.
rpvankasteren 29-08-2004, 01:30:AM Err, yes, lol, I was looking at 512 :p
Neil_SI 29-08-2004, 01:46:AM Maxim!: We conduct speed tests throughout the development lifecycle of Football Manager 2005 and during this time we have reached increases of up to 40% faster than CM 03/04.
As we are still developing Football Manager 2005 this figure is subject to change but we're very confident there will be a noticeable increase in speed.
We will be doing full benchmark tests once the game has gone Gold and will be releasing the results of those once we have them. In the meantime the Beta Demo available next month should give some indication to the speed of the game.

Actualy with €100 you can get DDR400 512mb with good CL :brow:

It defintly won't be slower! At the moment its meant to be around 40% faster than 03/04. A lot of people are assuming it'll be slower but sounds as if they have worked on the speed. Remember it is carrying on from 03/04 and not a new game like CM4 was. 3rd in series like CM 00/01 was.
BETA Demo is out 23rd September as long as theres no delays :)
rpvankasteren 30-08-2004, 07:19:AM The demo is rumoured to be released online early October (BBC)
wel we all know it will be on before that ruud, thats the big problem SI have
mind you im getting the mag, i always do. lol
TROD.
abhi_juve 30-08-2004, 11:19:PM Much better
champdave 04-09-2004, 04:51:PM Much better . . . why would CM0304 have all the best features if they were going to break away from Eidos?
PaPaGeorGeo 05-09-2004, 08:28:PM Much Better without Eidos forcing them to strict deadlines they'll have time to make this game perfect
So far the majority voted for "Much better than any previous "CM" game"
yeah, tho I realy doubt bout that.
shokz 27-09-2004, 03:48:AM I voted slightly better last month, but once they iron out the bugs the final product will be much better than any previous Championship Manager game in my opinion.
King Cobra 28-09-2004, 05:14:AM I'm afraid it will be as lousy as "FA Premier League Manager 2002".
Honestly, I really liked that game when I bought it, the combination of managing game and real game action. But it kept crashing almost every time I should start a new game, the lazy people at EA Sports didn't even come up with a patch to correct all the bugs in the game and after a couple of months I simply gave up. And so did EA Sport who never made any effort to correct the game or come up with a new, better one the following year.
Now they are trying again and as usual with EA Sports new games I will probably have to rebuild my computer just to use the game, something I can't affort right now. There will probably be a lot of bugs, kit clashes and such and if I just hear something about an "ingame editor", then I will just turn my back to it. I still remember the "ingame editor" in "FA Premier League Manager 2002" which didn't work the way I expected it to work. In fact, it was pretty useless.
EA Sports are good at coming up with ice hockey games but their soccer games after RTWC 1998 has been terribly dissapointing and therefore I don't expect so much of it.
Honestly, I don't have any of the CM games either because they are still back in "Amigaland 1990" with a lot of text but nothing more.

Haha, you almost have a clue.

WTF-ing helll does EA have to do with this game? Man good thing you made a search to find out what this game actualy is.
Deutschland 29-09-2004, 10:56:AM LOL EA Sports,ahh.. :rockman: Rock on, man!
its a common problem, its called electronicoarteyophobia.
basically because the company EA has taken over so many good franchises you start thinking everything has been taken over.
E.g. FM and CM are now under EA's control.
TROD.
Deutschland 29-09-2004, 08:31:PM Hey, you know that EA Sports actually own Roman Abramovich? Yeah and to think, you thought it was some Russian funding Chelski (H)
