The game is tonight at 9pm CET and this is a trophy in honour of Silvio Berlusconi's father and usually, the loser of this game will go on and have a good season.

Squads

AC Milan

GOALKEEPERS: Abbiati, Dida, Fiori

DEFENDERS: Cafu, Costacurta, Kaladze, Nesta, Stam

MIDFIELDERS: Abate, Ambrosini, Brocchi, Dhorasoo, Gattuso, Kakŕ, Rui Costa, Seedorf, Serginho

STRIKERS: Pozzi, Shevchenko, Tomasson

Juventus

GOALKEEPERS: Buffon, Chimenti, Bonnefoi

DEFENDERS: Ferrara, Birindelli, Tudor, Thuram, Zebina, Legrottaglie, Zambrotta, Pessotto

MIDFIELDERS: Emerson, Tacchinardi, Blasi, Baiocco, Kapo, Olivera,

STRIKERS: Zalayeta, Miccoli, Del Piero

I'll be expecting strong lineup from both sides since Capello and Ancelotti stated their desire to win this cup.

AC Milan

Dida

Cafu-Nesta-Stam-Kaladze

Gattuso-Rui Costa-Serginho

Kaká

Shevchenko-Tomasson

Juventus

Chimenti

Zebina-Thuram-Legrottaglie-Zambrotta

Kapo-Emerson-Olivera

Del Piero

Miccoli-Zalayeta

My prediction is a 1-1 draw and then Juve win on PKs and suck througout the whole season :crazyboy:

Carlo Ancelotti assures that tonight’s Milan-Juventus is never a friendly encounter, least of all when the two Coaches are facing their former clubs.

“This will be a very entertaining game with two teams at the highest level,” assured the Rossoneri boss ahead of the traditional Trofeo Berlusconi. “I can tell you for sure that this will not be friendly in nature, as these sides never play for anything less than a victory.”

This will be the 14th edition of the contest at the San Siro and a bizarre superstition suggests that the loser goes on to win the Scudetto that season. Last year the Bianconeri won it 2-0, but it was Milan who triumphed in Serie A.

Ancelotti is forced to do without Hernan Crespo and Paolo Maldini for this match, while Juve do not have David Trezeguet or Paolo Montero in their squad.

“Maldini is out as a precautionary measure, so Kakha Kaladze will play in his position at left-back. Clarence Seedorf has recovered from surgery and will take the field in the second half.”

There will be even more competition for places with the arrival of Fabricio Coloccini, back from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

“He is a young and talented player who has the quality to be part of this side. I am also convinced that he will improve even more under the tutelage of masters such as Maldini and Billy Costacurta.”

Crespo will have to wait a little longer for his first goal at the San Siro, as the former Chelsea man pulled up with a thigh problem during the Italian Supercup win over Lazio.

“I am fine and the scare has worn off,” reassured the Argentine. “I spoke with the medical staff and they said I can be back at Ancelotti’s disposal next week. After a year of lighter training methods in England, it is obvious I would suffer some muscular problems upon my return to the Italian pre-season preparation.”

Two former coaches of Milan/Juve facing each other. Thats great! And the way Carlo is acting, I cant wait to see the Serie A Milan-Juventus (H)

the berlusconi is actually the only trophy that aint senseless. not like the birra moretti and tim. this one has a history and its known to be a hard battle because at this time of the month both teams have to be already going at 100% if they want to do a good year. itll be good, but like mark77, ill be watching the italia argentina match :D

I want Capello to use both Miccoli and Del Piero and get the best out of both. Both are capable of some unbelievable football.

lol, i dont get why a team like Juventus would want Tudor, in my opinion i wouldnt even put him in the croatian first 11, but i dont really know their players.
He reminds me of Cipot, another young and inspiring defender from Slovenia, who sometimes just lost it, and shot the ball full power into throw-in, while noone was around him :).

I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through
And I need to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friend
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the world

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You've bought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses no pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose
And I need to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friend
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers

I just watched the highlights myself and believe me, Cannavaro would have to do very, very well to improve Juve's defence.

great tackle by juve defence on JDT early on
wat a miss by kaka' in first half
wat a miss by no27 for milan 2nd half
wat a miss by unmarked zalayeta in the box, the fresh aired the header under no pressure, and DP basically put it on his forehead

shows every1 is a bit rusty i suppose

Sheva did great to set up both JDT and Kaka, but boy did they screw up :|

and Serginho's miss.............................. I know it was your weaker right foot but Jesus, are you joking? :nape:

it's a crisis for milan.
just like when any big team goes for about 2 matches without a win it's a crisis.
last year when juve went 3 games without winning it was a crisis.
arsenal got knocked out of both the fa cup and cl and it was a crisis.
real madrid got knocked out of the cl by morientes and it was a crisis.
emile heskey scored a goal and it was a crisis.
if crystal palace manage to win a game it will be a crisis.

Agreed. But not when both of them are friendlies and in one of them we played a team mostly of reserve players.
