WE8/PES4 Keepers saves and animation


I was just playing a game of PES3 there and after scoring some rasping shots, and had other shots the same, but where the keeper this time has got a hand to them and turned them over the bar or low/high round the post, something just came to me..


Ive never seen a keeper get a hand to one of these stringers and the shot go in, always over the bar or round the post..


or keeper diving low get a hand to a shot and the ball hit his hand and go over the top of him? he'll knock it out or wide..

Has anyone scored a goal in PES3 where the keeper diving full length for a shot going into a top corner, seen the keeper get a hand to it and the ball still go into the net (all be it , the ball going a bit further into the corner of the net)?

What about WE8/PES4 , do keepers get a hand to your shots but in doing so not turn them over or around the post but off there hand(s) into the net?

Yeah, it happens in We8 too. I had one last night in fact. I was playing my ML when a player slid the ball across the area (my opposition) and the player in the centre side footed it towards goal, my keeper dove across trying to save the shot, he got a hand to it but it went underneath his hand and went it :)

I did, but the shot wasnt high. And it was with Rivaldo, the GK tipped it inside. With Cisse i scored a header where the GK jumped pretty high but all he did was tipping the ball to the post.

It hit the post and went in.:p

Hey, things happend in WE8 ;) .

Remember, you`re playing WE8 not FIFA2005.

I scored one goal like that yesterday. Pires` free kick. The GK stretched hard and manage to touch the ball, but the ball still goes on, hit the top bar and went in.

I think I`ve done such things a couple of times in WE 7 too.

thanks for the replys , its just that I have never seen in all the games I have played, one where a keeper that get a hand to your shot not keep it out!


ps ... on free kicks in WE8/PES4 . does the keeper still do that 2 handed fist away?

Yeah, this one happened to me too. If its straight at the keeper, they usually punch it.

My keeper also made a mistake last night, he came out for a through ball, but as he was sliding for it, he fumbled it into the strikers path, he struck it home :(

Trust me the game is deep. Even if u played the game tons of times, you bound to see sometime new.;)

Just had a about three of them in the last 6 matches i've been playing in master league today, now I have the game in english its so much better!

just note...u can set how automatic the goalie is...

my friends always play on full manual.. and I don't know how and I didn't care enough to ask...

i remember one time in winning eleven 6(yes winning eleven 6!)
i saw that the keeper was off his line so i looped with Del Piero. as the ball floats in the air the keeper gets a finger on only to direct in into the old onion bag sweet goal:p

Had it again! A player got a close range volley in, my keeper tried tipping it over but only put it into the top corner :(

Henry playing for my master league team released a screamer and the keeper managed to get both hands to the ball but it went into the net since the shot was too powerful.

I once had a great goal from a free kick. I took the freekick with Litmanen, the keeper dove for it and stomped it in the penalty area. At first instance i thought he saved it but then came the goal celebration, I thought wtf, but in the replay you could see the keeper saved the ball over the goal line(H)

If I could get a replay from PS2 memory card to AVI it'd be great . . . I scored one where I overhit a through ball along the ground, Owen chased it nontheless, the keeper was at the edge of his area and bent down to pick it up, and the ball dribbled between his legs and Owen slotted home.

I'll try record it on the digital camera tomorrow (H)

it happened to me again today!:D i was dribbling with Zidane i passed to henry and released a screamer from about 25 yards. it hits the post and the hits the goalies head(ouch:crazyboy: )

Yesterday night, Cristiano Ronaldo drifted to the left and took a shot 12 yards away from goal.

My mate was playing as Madrid and Casillas wasn't able to save it. Struck his hands and went it. My mate was not impressed.

This this thread is about Keeper saves, I would like to mention about one time when the keeper, Casillas if I'm not mistaken parry the ball away using his hands when he was outside the box. He was coming out and I tried to chip him but he used his hands to punch it away. He was clearly out of the box. But of course no Free kick.:crazyboy:

I know some rules would be hard to adapt into the game , the passback rule being one of them and the 6 second clearance one!

But I think the keeper handling outside of the box would have been one of the easier one's to adapt.

Yup it should be in the game. But I think Konami still yet to figure a good way to implement it. Afterall, it's almost like a handball and the last time it was implemented, it caused lots of controversy. IMO, WE7IJ had the handball frequency turned down just nice. But it was still random. If only the can make the same concept as a "headshot" in a FPS game in which the enemy immediately dies. So maybe the area around the hand and the arm will cause the handball.

My 2 cents.....

PES3's handballs are a bit of a joke , one of my forwards turned his back on a defenders clearance and it hit ( well it look like in his back , as he had turned ) ref still gave handball and the same with clearances that seems to hit your player low down!


Antime you block a clearance in the box its handball!

If turning it down means no handball for a keeper outside of the box , well I think its a small price to pay if it cuts out all the other soft handball calls..

I think it's very difficicult to program handballs. Not every time when a player touches the ball with his hand or arm the ref blows. You can't do anything about it sometimes.
