View Full Version : ITALY'S LEAGUE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT FOREIGNERS UNLIKE ENGLAND ETC
Juninhio 14-02-2000, 05:13:PM I honestly believe that Italy has better teams than England. However unlike Italy, England has the majority of their good players from Britian. Phillips, Owen, Shearer and Cole are all up top for goal scoring. Beckham, Sol Campbell are all the best in their respected position.
Even their highest paid player is Keane from Britian.
THIS IS MUCH DIFFERENT IN GOOD OLD ITALY!!!
They have hardly any team leaders from their own country. Unless its some crap team like Picanzeia which cant afford good foreigners.
The only exception is Vieri who is the only player that can stand amoung the top 10 strikers in the world. As for the others on current form.
Juve Best Player Zidane Del Piero is SH!T
AC Milan Best Player Schevechenko or Bierhoff
Parma Herman Crespo or Lilian Thuram
Lazio All the South Americans are better than Nesta
AS Roma well as sick as it sounds, they brought in Nakata to replace Totti. That tells you alot about Italys' boy wonder. They are even going to break a record to bring in Emerson (Brasil) from Leverkusen.
Florentina Rui Costa and Batistuta
So if anyone brags that Italy has a great league. Dont think for one second its because their country produces quality players- they dont. Its because they love to get millions of dollars in debt and bring in players from other countries.
In about 20 years half those clubs will be bankrupt if they keep going into debt to try and buy every Rivaldo that comes out every now and then.
Zambrotta 14-02-2000, 05:34:PM Yeah, you surely seem to hate Italy. I guess starting a normal discussion with you on this topic is therefore impossible.
But, I try:
- If the players you mentioned (Seria A foreign stars) played in England, the british would also seem second class.
- The highest paid player is italian, although he sucks (Juve-10).
- You know why Roma brought in Nakata: They don't seem so sure if they can hold Totti. Even a hater like you can not claim that Nakata is better than Totti. And what about boy wonder: the guy has been Top 3 in the league for over 2 years now and turns 24 this year. If you search a boy-wonder: Cassano, 17, Bari.
I sure you will go nuts, when Totti ends up at Milan, Inter or Real, for way over 50 Million $.
- I agree that the average foreign player is better as the average italian in most of the teams, but you only look at forwards. The best player at Milan is and was for the last 10 years Maldini. If you think that the inconsistent South Americans are SOOO great for Lazio, go ahead, but the 2 MVP's are Sinisa and Nesta.
Ever heard of Vieri?
And for Roma, you'd pick Nakata over totti, dream on.
I think soccer is a beautiful game and I love the Serie A, because there are players from so many countries. I don't claim that italian players are ther best in the world, but every national player in every national league in the world would look bad if he had the worlds Top 100 players in his league.
Nationalism sucks.
Zambrotta 14-02-2000, 05:40:PM And I forgot: Stefano Fiore, Udinese, is the best midfielder in the Serie A this year. He will go to some major club (perhaps even Real) pretty soon. But I doubt you know him.
4-4-2 14-02-2000, 09:06:PM As soon as a half decent player from Serie A comes to england he is treated like a superstar by the english fans and press. Italy has by far the better league and also has better domestic players (Italians) than england (english).
I watch about two-three english league games a week and about 90% of the time the commentators pick out the foreigners as players to watch, the only time its an english player is usually because its an international or a crap team with crap foreigners. I'm only able to watch one Italian game a week and apart from the quality of football being far better, its also Italians that are often the key players.
Vishal 14-02-2000, 10:15:PM Italian league is the best in da world. The English league is all ****. The league is centered around the fact that players from all around the world would get a chance. The English league is all about hype. Man Utd sucks.
Zambrotta has made the most significant point on this topic, Juninhio - you seem to view the football world through a viciously national/ethnic lens.
We all love the different styles and flavours that the different national leagues offer (something I hope the globalization of the game does not kill off,) but YOU are obsessed with some sort of national football pecking order. You sing the same old boring song, week in and week out.
I guess if it really churns your butter, good luck playing "count the foreigners."
But remember,
"Ethnocentrism Sucks!"
Cheers....
Italia82 15-02-2000, 06:29:AM Thats what makes serie A excellent,Serie A is an international league.Junhino ,u also proved that you are racist.Totti is much better than Nakata, actually Rome's Stars are montella,Totti and Delvecchio. For Juve Zidane does rule, but Milan ,Maldini and Shevchenko rules.Junhino,u say the italian league would suck if it were only italian players, your wrong,20 years ago ,serie a was far much more fun to watch than today and they had mostly italians in their team.It is impossible for teams like Lazio,Juventus,Rome etc.. to go bankrupt as you say it would ,they make so much money that teams like Lazio seem to have infinit cash.
DirkDiggler 15-02-2000, 06:50:AM Holy crap, I didn't know Owen was up top for scoring this season. I could have swore he's only played in like 4 games.
AJAX supporter 15-02-2000, 08:57:AM I'm not sure if Chelsea and Arsenal would still be very strong teams if you took all foreigners away from them. But there are a lot of foreigners in the Premier League too.
I think without the foreigners in the Italian league, it would still be a very strong league.
I hadnt seen one of Juninhio's idiotic postings in a while, I guess his mum let him use the computer again.
He gets a rash if he doesnt get to do a daily slag off of anything Italian
as roma 16-02-2000, 06:55:AM Obviously you are a Racist and are only trying to get the italians excited over your remarks. It doesn't work anymore, we are bored with the same old song. Serie A provides excellent soccer as do MANY OTHER LEAGUES around the world. You just don't know how to appreciate good soccer from around the world. Your comments are useless as they always are.
You seem to be starved for attention by your posts on this forum. Oh well, too bad. Get help!
