This game is tomorrow at San Siro.

It's the first CL game for Werder since 10 years.

Klose and the EC hero Charisteas are coming off the bench.

I say 1-1, Adrianao and Klasnic. :)

Werder Bremen are lost. It would have been nice to watch em play with their last year's squad. Now.. who cares. If you rely on Klose to win a game, you're screwed.

Sure, Valdez is starting instead of Klose, so he can score a beautiful goal like he did against Moenchengladbach.

I predict 1-2 for Werder or 2-2.

Klasnic, Valdez - Adriano

no Mihajlovic...thank goodness...

my line up...

-----------------Toldo-------------

Zanetti---Cordoba---Materazzi---Favalli

-------------Davids---Veron--------------

---Van der Meyde----------Stankovic---

------Adriano--------------Recoba---

I would like to see Recoba start over Vieri...Adriano and Vieri combined well but Vieri is too often missing chances he used to put away...Recoba has looked good in pre-season

Ze Maria will probably start instead of Van der Meyde

Van der Meyde is the tearing the Werder defense apart. The second one wasn't a penalty, the fould was outside the pen. area.

Bad luck for Bremen, red for their best defender Ismael after 5 minutes and captain Baumann had to be taken off due to an injury.

Maybe a draw is possible.

15-09-2004, 04:10:AM
He was invincible in some parts of the game, but whenever he got decent space and touches, he made damn near perfect passes.

My only issues with him is his work rate...and he also has a bad habit of just grazing the pitch and not helping out in defense

King Cordoba (arguably the best defender in the Serie A) combined awesomely (as usual) with Mad Man Materazzi.

Just saw game.

First off, lemme say that Werder Bremen made the Budesliga look very crappy today. Inter didnt even look like they were trying and still controlled game.

Van Der Meyde played his best ever game for Inter. Ive always believed in this mofo, i hope Mancini gives him start and he continues to impress. Id give him a 9 for todays performance.

Materazzi. I feel bad for all the disrespect ive shown this man. He may have his 'tendencies', but hes still a great defender, and has always been one of the best in the world at joining attack or creating plays from the back. Cordoba is sh*t tho, im sick of him. I swear, speed is ALL this guy has.

Adriano. In short, hes the most dominant player in the world today. Nobody can change a game like here. If you disagree, go suck on a lemon. Earned two penatlties (Vieri missed other one with awful shot).

Again, Werder Bremen were disgraceful today, for a team that dominates Bundesliga this was bad.

What a performance by the team. Van der Meyde was on fire, Adriano was dominant even when he was tired, Matrix shutup his critics, Veron did well, and Emre started :rockman:

Hopefully the team as a whole can continue like this and get even better, especially in the back. Though with players slowly coming back, things can only get better.

Though again Vieri has let me down. Hopefully he gets back into form, or Martins comes back and takes that spot next to Adriano for good.

I'm going to go out now and say the Adriano is currently the best striker in football today, bar none. Every time he steps ont he field now, be it for Brazil or Inter, he makes **** happen.

I think the partnerhip of him and Martins will be incredible. Martins speed will create room for Adriano, and Adriano's sheer kickass-ness will mean the defence will give Martins enough speed to burn through any back line. This with Verons incredible passes that he showed in the game.

How can you make stupid judgements on an entire country's footballing capabilities based on one game from a club team that's from that country, especially when that club isn't even having that great a season in the bundesliga to begin with? Inter didn't have that great of an outing either and they were playing with 11 men while Bremen was forced to play with 10 for almost 90mins after that sending off of Ismael....how the **** else did you expect them to play in the San Siro a man down?

This shows your utter stupidity and bias towards all things Italian....how can you say Cordoba was **** (his first game mind you) after he saved our asses countless of times? He drifted off to the left to support Favalli, to the right to support a tired looking Zanetti and even drop back as a sweeper.....his heading, pace, tackling and ability to track back and make up for his mistakes (rare) or the mistakes of others is second to none.....there is no way Materazzi had the better game here, he played well, but King Cordoba was our commander in defense last night.

You also have to take into account that Inter played with no DM last night....two playmaking midfielders and two midfiedlers/wingers. That complicated things a bit in defence since the back four didn't have much protection.

Emre (first game of the season) was also decent, how can you say that he was "bad"? His sheer determination, passing and speed helped out a lot in attack. The kid contributed more than his share to the game.....it was Vieri who was the only ****up in this game, man. 10 clear-cut chances he's squandered in the last two games....that clumsy retard.

BTW, this post is brought to you by Howcanyou.com

Dominated fits better in here. They've been pretty mediocre this season and lost their last two Bundesliga games.

The fact that they lost a player after 5 mins doesn't help either.

I think it was an okay perfromance they're inexperienced in the European Competitions. With a bit better luck Charisteas would've scored.

Gotta love Adriano's left foot. Vieri should retire, or better, he should shave his head (i like long hairs, and i have hair about the same size as him), because he looks more worried about the hair than with the ball.

Martins and Adriano will form a brilliant partnership, like they did a few times last year. Vieri and Adriano should be good but Vieri spoils it all.

Well, if Bremen made Bundesliga look bad, than Leverkusen made it look very good. And you act like Ismaels red card was unjust or that i should feel sorry for Bremen, which wasnt the case.

And Yossarian, stop saying 'we' when referring it Inter. You dont know shiat about them and youre just another one of those anti-Italians, so please, go 'support' a team from another country. Cordoba is an unreliable defender who gets beaten too much and just fouls opponents. His speed and lack of alternatives is all that keeps him in the lineup. Where the hell are you even from anyways?

Hendrik

No, but you should take that into account. It's not an easy task to play your first European game at San Siro with 10 men for 85 minutes.

I still think they have a chance to let either Valencia or Inter behind them.

Mannnnnn, STFU! You come on here as if you, yourself was totally immersed in Italian culture and football and therefore had an inherit right over others when it comes to being a fan of Italian soccer and the Italian league itself when in actuality, you're the one who shows total lack of knowledge of Italian soccer and of footbal in general frequently. Typical spineless, xenophobic, intolerant **** who goes on bashing others over the head of how better than the rest he is because of his background...you're very dangerous to argue with simply because you're unabashedly stupid...time, and time again you proudly display your lamebrainedness, man.

Your arguments and posts are such an escape from logic...seriously, you have more defenses for stupidity than I can possibly respond to. Here we are discussing the CL match from yesterday and you start up on me not having the right to associate myself with Inter because I dont know "shiat"?? about them (obviously a camouflage statement basically saying that because my parents weren't Italian, I can't claim to my Inter loyalty) and that I'm just another one of those "anti-Italians" (a false premise you decided to concoct out of nowhere just yesterday to stir **** up and put people who have got nothing against Italians on the defensive) Seriously, what the **** does all this have anything to do with my post that dissected and shatted upon your nonsensical analysis of the game? Why do you have to bring your month long bitch grudge stemming from the Chelsea v Manu thread on to here and carry it into every other thread????

Realize that being Italian is genetic and has nothing to do with club football.......look at the Serie A for godsakes, most teams are chocked full with foreigners...check your fanatical national pride (however farce it might be) at the door, man. I don't see Englishmen or Spaniards badgering or criticizing incomers who aren't English or Spanish who choose to adopt teams from their leagues....why does that sentiment only come from Italian folk??????

*heyyyy, loooook at me, I'm Mikey and the Italian league is > than all else......the Italian national side is > all else, Italian defenders are > all else, Italian commentators are > all else, heck, everything even remotely Italian is > anything else.....I'm so self-absorbed, narcissistic, stoooopid and proud of it*

Stupid tomato head......:kader:

Serie A Week 2 - 18/9/04 (20.30)
Inter - Palermo

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Nerazzurri need to get a win under their belts if they are to avoid losing contact with Juventus, but they face probably the best of the Serie A new boys.

Roberto Mancini and his players admit they were disappointed with the 2-2 draw at Chievo, above all for the below par performance and defensive errors. Some of those problems should be resolved this weekend with the return to full fitness of Argentine Nicolas Andre Burdisso, while Ivan Cordoba and Cristiano Zanetti have sat out their one-match bans.

Mancio could opt to stick with the Adriano-Christian Vieri partnership, but it’s more likely that either Alvaro Recoba or Julio Cruz will be drafted in to rest the centre-forwards.

Palermo were expected to take Serie A by storm in their first top flight campaign for over 30 years, as a star-studded squad like this can challenge for UEFA Cup spots. Luca Toni showed just why he is breaking into the Italy squad, as after netting 30 goals in Serie B last season he grabbed the winner against Siena.

The Rosanero’s main problem during their promotion campaign was away form, as just five of their 22 victories came outside the Sicilian city. They did work up some good results, however, drawing 13 and losing five on their travels, so their counter-attack mentality could prove useful at the San Siro.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter (probable): Toldo; Ze Maria, Cordoba, Burdisso, Favalli; Van der Meyde, Veron, Davids, Stankovic; Vieri, Adriano

Palermo (probable): Guardalben; Zaccardo, Biava, Barzagli, Grosso; Corini, Barone, Santana; Zauli, Gasbarroni; Toni

========================================

It should be a good game. I'm ecstatic that I get to see it on on GolTV even if it is on tape delay.

Though I think that Adriano should be rested and Cruz should start instead. Stankovic should also be rested with Emre replacing him on the LW and Davids taking back his LCM spot.

I would also like to see Burdisso make his debut in this match.
