View Full Version : Maccabi Tel-Aviv vs. Bayern [P] + [R]
Hendrik 14-09-2004, 09:17:PM Whenever I open a gamethread we get our ass kicked so I have to keep on trying.
Okay, we suck and it's not even funny. The players looked like 90 year olds pensioners out there.
I do have patience however because we got a new coach and some new players, it will surely take some more time until we're at our best level. Hopefully in the Juve games next month.
Anyway, back to the game, I don't know much about Maccabi but we can't underestimate them. If the players finally decide to run we should win easily, but the chance that this will happen is about 10%.
The only player performing like he always does is Makaay, I'm betting on him scoring the game winning goal.
Probable Line-Up:
----------------------Kahn-( C)------------------------
--Görlitz-------Lucio-------Linke-------Rau----------
-------------------------Frings---------------------------
--Deisler-------------Ballack-------------Ze Roberto--
------------------------------Scholl----------------------
----------------Makaay-----------------------------------
- Claudio Pizarro and Roque Santa Cruz ar injured (the last named one doesn't bother me at all)
- Vahid Hashemian is not allowed to travel to Israel due to his Iranian citizenship
- 8 German players in the starting team ...eek...
Ubik Valis 14-09-2004, 09:58:PM Blöde Vince. :ewan:
IceBlu 14-09-2004, 10:11:PM Getting 3 points against Maccabi Tel-Aviv is mandatory for Bayern.
Something tells me it won't be that easy.
Ubik Valis 14-09-2004, 10:13:PM Zey will be owned by ze Jewz. :fluffy:
peruytu 14-09-2004, 10:25:PM This anti-Bayern trash talk is rediculous... ok, they might be sucking as of late, but damn! give the team some credit, they've had terrible luck in terms of injuries and have a new coach that needs to get the players to play as a team. New year, new players, new coaches and new results, meaning, better results than last year. I'm confident that Bayern will give the Israelis a good ol' fashion butt whipping.
Btw, Uefa.com reported that Scholl wasn't going to play because he got injured, again. (I don't understand why this player doesnt retire?)
And, Pizarro is supposed to come in as a sub during the game. Let's hope his recovery is done and can get some minutes and even score a couple.
Hendrik 14-09-2004, 10:27:PM The thing is we've been playing like that for two years since the Deportivo home game which we lost in a horrible way.

Yeah, and in those two years Bayern had "Recycling-fowards-Pizarro-off-positioning-player-critizicing-stubborn" Hitzfeld. Maggath will do alot better job, he just needs time to put together a team that will can play as the Bayern of old.
Btw, if Hashemian is not going, Santa Cruz injured and Pizarro coming in from the bench, will Guerrero be on the bench also or will it be Zickler?
Hendrik 14-09-2004, 10:41:PM Zickler definitely won't be fit...I don't know about Guerrero, I'm guessing Schweinsteiger will play.
fcbayern.de says Schweinsteiger or Owen freaking Hargreaves :| :| :| :| :| :|
Atlas 14-09-2004, 11:53:PM Maccabi Tel-Aviv 0-4 Bayern Munich
Makaay x 3
Ballack
IceBlu 15-09-2004, 01:03:AM 3-4 years ago i thought Hargreaves is going to be the next big thing ... i guess i wasn't alone.
unfortunately it seems like he is very ordinary.
Hendrik 15-09-2004, 01:06:AM Yeah, I blame the English NT. The Beckhams and Owens have told him too much about money and what you can do with it.
Stotty 15-09-2004, 01:09:AM Hargeaves is nothing but quality :D:D:D:D (H)
:(

Pizarro will be on the bench.
Hashemian has a back injury.. with what you wrote i'm thinking that's a fake injury to hide that rule..
peruytu 15-09-2004, 01:11:AM I blame Hargreaves downfall on Hitzfeld! :kader:
Hendrik 15-09-2004, 01:13:AM Good to know that Piza is almost back, it was such a pain to watch Santa Cruz missing like 99% of his chances.
It's the best for Hashemian, he's not important for the team (yet) anyway.
Don't say anything bad about Hitzfeld, he was one of the best coaches we ever had. He brought Hargreaves and Schweinsteiger into the team. :kader:
Vagegast 15-09-2004, 08:56:AM Damn, I'm thinking in Fantasy Team terms. I was about to write that I want Makaay to score 5 goals.
But I don't. I hope Tel-Aviv gets away with a point. So where's this being played? Not Tel Aviv, right?
Voltaic Borusse 15-09-2004, 09:03:AM It's being played in Tel-Aviv, but they're going have security up the ass, though. You know, for protection and all.
Lonestarr022 15-09-2004, 09:19:AM i think Hargreaves would fare better in the premiership
anyway this game is going to be in Israel correct,
i cant think that is a palce many teams to want to play, considering the ban that was on it the past few yrs
isnt this the first group game ever in Israel?

i just hope our team walks out of israel alive. they better crank the security up.:kader:

Nope.
$teauA 15-09-2004, 09:41:AM 0-3 Bayern.
Damn we better win. I predict 1-0, but I don't care. We have to win, that's it.
Juventus will f*ck us up if we keep playing like that.
Hendrik 15-09-2004, 08:31:PM They won't no matter what. The smaller teams are the problem for us. In those matches where our players are too lazy to run.
They can get themselves motivated against the big guns. Our best performance was vs. Real last season.
Punkt 15-09-2004, 08:44:PM this will be tough to Bayern...
Daniel Fenakel 16-09-2004, 01:00:AM Originally posted by Voltaic Borusse
Nope.
Actually it is....Maccabi Haifa played two seasons before in the champions league but they had to play their home matches in Turkey..This time UEFA allowed Tel-Aviv play in Israel..
Anyway, i dont think tha Tel-Aviv has a chance against Bayern..
they are far to good for them, even when they are not in a good shape
Hendrik 16-09-2004, 02:35:AM 0-0 HT
I'm watching the Leverkusen game so I don't know what's going on there...prolly not much. Hargreaves is playing, Makaay lone striker. :nape:
Pizarro14 16-09-2004, 02:38:AM take hargreaves And bring in Pizarro in 2nd half
Pontiakos 16-09-2004, 02:40:AM damn.....come on bayern
Pizarro14 16-09-2004, 02:45:AM Diesler out
Schweinsteiger in
Pizarro14 16-09-2004, 03:02:AM goal by Makaay 1-0
Hendrik 16-09-2004, 03:50:AM 1-0 win Makaay (penalty)
well at least we looked good defensively.
We're gonna get our ass whipped by Dortmund on Saturday.
Pizarro14 16-09-2004, 03:51:AM na ur wrong bro. The reason we didn't attack cuz we had 1 striker. WE are a better team with 2. I love when makaay and pizarro play together more chances. Hargreaves..... NUFF SAID

If we play the way we did against Bochum in the 2nd half, yeah. I'd say we might have a shot.
:mrpimp:
