Well, he never managed a club, but Argentina came U20 World Champions twice with him (1995 and 1997) managing many of the players that are now both in NT and remarkable teams all around the world, eg Samuel, Cambiasso, Saviola (U17), Crespo, etc.

Hope he could do a good job, because I have MANY doubts about him for the reason he never treated "grown" players. U Know, I don't want Veron, Pochettino and other, unless they recover their level quickly, mostly Veron.

He doesnt have a good relationship with the president of the Argentinian FA. So he refused it. It's a shame Argentina didnt go for Cuper...:( I would love to see him screwing up.(H)

I dont think Pekerman is there for long term. Pekerman has taken over in the past once as interim coach and I think this is another interim position. Cuper, right now would be the obvious choice but I believe there are still talking about it since i'm sure nobody wants to be second choice for anything! Bianchi refused because he knows the longer he waits, the better time will come for him to take over. I'm sure Pekerman will be there only until Cuper decides to take over.

I don´t think the problem was a relationship one. Bianchi was the best for the position. But he is a very wise guy. He is a winner and he knows that this Argetinian generation is not made of winners. It´s best for him to keep winning with clubs. Argentina have very good players (not the best), but they always act like chicken when something important is at stake (please, do not come with Olympic Games, URSS, Nigeria and other countries already won, and in WCs..... also, after Brazil, maybe Argentina is the 2nd force). He do not want to link his reputation with a generation of losers, that have a lot of attention, and some talent but cannot win anything important. That´s why people love Maradona so much, because he is a symbol of the unique era where Argentina had a winner team. Even 78, that shame (the set-up with Peru) is not something they can be proud of! hehehehehehehehehehehe!

It doesn't have to do anything with that..he didn't go for the NT because of other reasons...his family among other things...Please don't speak out of ignorance:)

Never heard of this guy.

I really thought that Bianchi or Cuper would be hired...

He has done a great job with the juvenile teams.

To be honest, I don't know much about him.

I would have loved to see Bianchi, but he didn't want to.

His name though :S

PEKERMAN !

Well, his name is funny, when U20 came WC twice with him, Pekerman and the Pekerboyz (the players) were all dress like superheros on a magazine XP (Pekerman = Superman, and the only player I remember, Cambiasso = Robin... so gay >.>)

I am not being arrogant at all, by asking you to not speak out of ignorance is telling you not to speak about something if you are not fully aware of what is going on. It was not meant to be an insult, but I guess you took it the wrong way...

Maybe. Anyway, just forget about it. It's 23:00 PM here, my mom's birthday party and there's some woman here trying to sing at the Karaoke thingie and it's being a torture so far. I woke up 6 AM and i wanna have some sleep, but it looks like the lady is pretty happy singing, so basically i'm screwed.

I'm not in a good mood to argue as you can see (and i dont even want to, i get your point). I saw the stuff on a TV sports show at ESPN Brasil (which is the more reliable channel around), so i just posted it.

What is Argentina's starting 11 and formation when everybody is there?

So many great players...
