I didnt do anything. But the player sometimes requests this to his club if he wants to move, but doesnt want to have a much lower salary. I've had it quite a few times that when I tried to sell a player, the player agreed to move, but I had to continue paying him wages. So basically you dont have to do anything, the player does that himself.

my first season with Olympiakos I didn't expect to be so damn good. This team plays with alot of heart I guess. The only downfall with this club is they don't give alot of money to spend. But I try my best to find youngsters, and have Vets. Nikopolidis IS A HELLUVA GK, HE SAVED MY a$$ against Liverpool and Juventus. Now I have to go against Chelsea...:(. Got eliminated by an 83rd minute goal in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the next season. We got a draw off Anderlecht (2-2) in Belgium, and we had about 25 shots to their 6 in Ukraine, but we couldn't score. And of course they put one past Lastuvka in the dying minutes of the game. UEFA Cup again, woo ******* hoo. And we got Kaiserslautern; no, don't give me a Bulgarian side, I always gotta face someone powerful in every single round.

Lastuvka got his ass sold. I signed a Brazilian keeper named Bruno, to say he's good would be an understatement, although it got my captain all mad at me for "lacking ambition" by selling a player when there's already a better one I just spent 7.75M on.

Also sold Hubschman. He's a slacker and Leonardo (in the Shakhtar squad from the start) is better than him now.

Bringing in that Iranian right back in December.

Quit that game, started up with Koln.

Largely thanks to Podolski, I finished 5th (predicted to get relegated) and got a UEFA spot. He had 28 in the Bundesliga and didn't miss a game. I knew that I couldn't hang on to him forever, because when teams would make bids his agent would be like "my client wants to hear their offer", so I held out until the end of the first season. The final bill..... 35M to Arsenal. I turned around and bought Fred for 16M and loaned in Adebayor from Arsenal. Through two games in the new Bundesliga season Fred has 6 goals and 3 assists. I'm pretty glad I made that sale.

Also have brought in Mascherano, Aogo, Jankulovski, and Vitti (but he doesn't play much). Just felt I should keep you guys updated since I start new games so often.

Well, I was trying to sign Andy Johnson, who would have been 10M cheaper, but he accepted the offer of another team. I was manager of England for awhile in a game, and Johnson was better than Rooney, Owen, Defoe, and any other English striker.

I maintain that Defoe is (and always has been) shockingly wank on FM, and rightly so.

Yep, there aren't many strikers in the FM world better than him. Pretty unrealistic. :(

Indeed they have a strong frontline but the problem is after one season all the good players that are loaned in leave and than it becomes hard to replace them. In my game which went to about 2016 I would say that Pazzini was the best player for me, always scored 30 or more goals a season, I think in one he got 45. Bojinov becomes a hell of a goalscorer too.

Fiorentina isnt that good in the game, they always end low in the midtable in my games. Teams like Palermo and Sampdoria have better selections.

I was up on Bayern by 6 points with three games left, I lost two and drew one, and of course Bayern won all three.

I lost to Liverpool in a penalty shootout in the Champions League Final because none of my players could score. My keeper was amazing, he let in the first three, but rallied and saved the next three, but unfortunately my team was so crap we only converted 4/8 penalties, and the game was lost by my soon to be replaced captain Lukas Sinkiewicz.

Luckily I hammered Wolfsburg 5-1 in the German Cup or else I may have cried myself to sleep last night.

Second season with Tottenham is finished ( took me a while ) and it was very sucessful. Won everything, beat that Mourinho (6)

I wish that were the case in my game, Moutinho is not up to par with Deco yet but should be soon. Also Manuel Fernandes is a good talent. I wish I had some Brazilians ( there very overrated ) with Portuguese passports to pick ( my RB and LB are weak...Nuno Valente is my best LB...:( and he is old ).

haha I use the same thing for corners, I have Defoe and Vucinic as my scorers on those coners. (H). Vucinic socred 4 in on game once...(H). What a bug that is. It is kind of risky though, I have had the opposisiton score becuase my last guy back was either slow or injured himslef and than the attacking players takes off and scores...:(

Yeah it is risky. I find that the right back is the default guy who stays back, so if the right back is also the default corner taker, then you will have no one back.

But my problems of having the last man get beat on a counter attack are completely over, Anthony Vanden Borre NEVER gets beat. He is amazing.

I worked 2 years to get to this point, and now it comes down to 1 game: Can't remember a situation in a group stage with this amount of excitement. I have to beat Portugal, but they are the best team in the group so far (they were way better than Italy and Ireland but didnt manage to win, Italy scored 2-2 in the 91st minute, Ireland scored the 1-1 in the 86th minute)

Physical stats are poor - I wouldn't play him in defence. Maybe a defensive midfielder. Good technical stats though :)

I'm so chuffed with my convincing Europe win against Lyon! beat them 3 nil in their own backyard hahahaha. Having lost against Bayern in the quarter final last season was a big blow for me, we were outclassed. This season we're back with more experience!

I was leading 2 nil at half time. Lyon did not manage more than 2 shots. None of them were on goal. I had effectively taken control of the game with my special formation against them.

I used Mokeona as my main defensive midfielder to specifically man-mark their main playmaker, Juninho. This was a job that he did exceptionally well since he is aggressive and can mark tightly, and Juninho is super slow anyway with 6 acceleration and 10 pace. With Juninho marked out of the game Lyon was unable to find a way to attack against my tight defence.

Mokeona's work gave my second defensive playmaking midfielder loads of time on the ball. He is Nik Besagno, 19 year old American FM legend, the most important player in my team. He had the most touches on the ball and was man of the match with two Pirlo like assists.

Look at these stats. Look at how many passes Nik Besagno and Mokeona had, and how Juninho had the least passes among his midfield.

Managed to sign him. Pretty an achievement if you consider I'm the recently promoted Huracán and many european teams offered him a contract. :lui:

Hah, in my Genoa game in 2014 Vieira is 37 and he's still part of the French National Team I coach... probably 3rd best french DM at that time (still). I play him from time to time and he still does well... 7/8 ratings

A national team together with club managment is indeed boring imo. Managing a national alone is way more interesting. I really enjoyed that.Yea, doing it properly seems much more appealing; watching loads of different games of English players etc. Tho i doubt i have the patience to play a game like that with such little hands on action.

I did well as Northern Ireland manager (back on 05), but thought that as well. Too little action. So I picked up the QUB job, and both jobs went sour fast...

I was offered the Ukraine job after I won the Premiership with Chelsea and took it. They had a rather sucky side, but I think we did rather well in the World Cup. Group Stage with Portugal, Nigeria and Mexico, all of them sporting better players overall. First match vs. Portugal we started 3-0 before half-time, but managed to get in 2 goals thanks to Shevchenko who got an excellent cross and shook off 2 defenders and then rounded the keeper, he later also provoked a penalty. We didn't equalise, but that was enough to let the Ukrainian's spirits soar.

Next match vs. Nigeria was supposed to be a tough one, since they beat Mexico 5-0, but we beat them 2-0 with Shevchenko not doing much since he was marked by 2 players at all times, still, players like Planychev, Aliev, Voronin and Rotan did well. We had to win vs. Mexico or else risk missing the next stages, and managed to scrape a 1-0 against them, where, again, 2 men marked Shevchenko.

We qualified and played Morocco next, where we dominated the entire match (like the last 2 games and most of the 1st) but they managed to equalise the one goal Voronin put in. So we won on penalties, not a grand way, but good enough, given that before every match the ex-internationals said we didn't have what it took.

Drew England, and my best defender and Rotan (who was my main attack force with Shevchenko beng rather out of it), AND Shevchenko got injured 2 dats before the match for 2 weeks. I did my best, and kept them on their toes, but Defoe put one in on the 15th. However, 5 minutes later, Carragher caused a Penalty which.... some player scored (no idea how to spell his name). It looked like we might just win with us dominating the match entirely, but their few attacks were more dangerous. And on the 45th minute, my defense headed the ball away to Aliev on centrefield who lost it to Lampard who passed it to Gerrard who lobbed it from 45 yards and caught my keeper, who had decided to run towards the edge of the area for no reason, scoring, obviosuly.

We controlled the entire match, but they still managed to keep us at bay, and scored the final goal at the 87th minute, thereby ruining the Ukraine's chances of meeting Argentina in the Semis.

Yea, doing it properly seems much more appealing; watching loads of different games of English players etc. Tho i doubt i have the patience to play a game like that with such little hands on action.

I had enough to do, in 2 years of coaching Denmark I went to something like 60 or 70 games to see potential internationals play.

Bloody hell Hartlepool's doin well to be in the EPL in 2008....never seen em do that before! must have been back to back promotions coz i thought they were in League 1?

We were. Won league 1 and then go straight through to the premiership by winning the play offs after finishing 3rd.

Last season in the EPL i just survived, finishing 16th, but i got to the final of the FA Cup, which liverpool won, however i've qualified for the UEFA cup :D

An update about my game:

After I managed Aalborg aB for 4 seasons I decided to leave them in july 2016. I won 3 league titles with them and 2 cups, and I did well in the CL reaching the quarter finals in 14/15 (knocked out by Liverpool) and reaching the 2nd round in 15/16 (knocked out by Inter). Besides I won 2 Royal Leagues. I didnt find a new job though, Brondby rejected me, and I was close to a move to NAC Breda, but they chose Stanley Menzo. I also applied for Valladolid, but they promoted Ruud van Nistelrooy to manager. I then applied at Odense BK (the club I left in 2008). But they promoted their assistent Henrik Larsson to manager. Then it took a while for jobs to come in, but now I got one: Valencia, they are currently 10th in Spain after 12 games. 120m € to spend (H) And they have a relativly young squad. No European football though

Many a England match i have played were i have steamrolled Macedonia or Slovenia 11-0 in the first half and then managed one more before 90 minutes...
Makes me wonder if the "dont let your performance drop!!" HT talk command has any effect at all really...

Just never say that you're pleased or anything at ht (the 2 first comments from above) I never use them. If a player has 7 or more I encourage, 6 dissapointing, 5 or less embarrasment. That's if Im winning. If Im losing I only encourage 8 or higher, 6 and 7 dissapointing and 5 or lower embarrasment.

hell no, i've only ever restarted a couple of times and that was back in the days of CM4.

One thing i must admit is that when i started this game i had a bit of a "what would i be like?" moment and created myself to be ingame with huge potential :$. My mental stats are looking good, but technically i'm not really that impressive at all.

Still, i've attached the tactic i used all season (home and away - i can't be arsed with all that changing all the time nonsense). Fairly simple yet effective.

Nice player, but, are you playing him as WBR or as a DR? He's got very nice stats for a defender, except for decisions, which could be better, some of his physical should improve, but he's awesome.

I usually play him DR with an arrow to WBR. But thing is, even though he has a pretty low stamina (just 11), he has like 94% condition at half-time so he can replace the tired right winger without a problem (since he's got dribbling 20, crossing 16, long shots 15 and passing 15 too).

Yeah, I bet he could, although I've never liked playing DR and DL, I'd rather have WB's with 3 defenders, and with an arrow to AM's, does wonders, a players I'd recommend for something like that is Iraola, amazing stats, rarely gets tired for me. Oh, btw, that reminds me, what's the difference between an AMC and an MC with an arrow to AMC? and viceversa.

I understand that using the Editor to make them artificially wealthy would unbalance some stuff, but I thought that if I left the players in tact they'd remain level-headed... I was wrong.

Well actually Drogba was in FM 2006 not that great. He had just had a crappy 04/05 season and wasn't at all the player he's nowadays.

Still I admit Alfreton should be more than happy to get him ofcourse.

Can you get back in fm06? I tried getting back in my FC Kobenhavn game, but I cant :( I seem to miss certain options from 07, but I cant get into 07 either, although Im currently enjoying my FC Köln game again.

Don't know, I've given up hope of ever getting into FM 2007, so I thought I'd give my Everton game a go, which I enjoyed so much and it turned out it still has the magic.

Moreover I still have something to achieve in this game, I won everything except an international World or European cup, which I've never done in any C/FM game. :(

He isn't that all-round, but if you look well you can see that he's got all the right stats. Finishing, dribbling, heading, first touch, technique, concentration, composure, off the ball, positioning, pace and acceleration are all very important stats for a striker.

Oh and Chelsea made the bid ofcourse... :)

Recently got back into this game, and in my seocnd season with Chelsea, got my biggest win ever. I know, I'm Chelsea, big spender, vs. Middlesbrough who had to sell their best players due to financial problems following their relegation, but still, it's my best result yet.

I don't at all. The skin from FM 2005/FM 2006 really s*cks. Recently I played FM 2006 on my laptop from the stone-age and I just couldn't play it because the skin really burned my eyes away. The flexion skin from FM 2007 is already alot better and I actually like the FM 2008 one even more.

Unbelievable, I actually considered playing with no strikers because it was getting ridiculous. ManCity had an odd year though. Cahs injection followed by some amazing transfers (Van der Vaart, Toni) they then go into administration, docked 9 points, drop from the title race (which they were in), lose several matches in a row, Pearce sacked, Schuster brought in, currently 8th, not bad. Still, this is ridiculous:

Newcastle also had a string of bad results, capped off wonderfully with this result. Manager sacked, caretaker promoted, some good transfers, are now battling it out with Portsmouth for 5th place, right behind ManU at 4th. Once again, ridiculous:

Sweet man.. I play FM06 too, its my favorite FM/CM currently (used to play alot of CM01/02 but now its outdated).

Must admit I like it because it's easier and the tactics make more sense. Plus it runs much faster and you get through a season quicker. The feature I miss the most is feeder clubs tho.

Azrael upload your tactic. I'm not trying to be an ass but I don't believe you can score that many without cheating (I'm assuming controlling the other team and pulling their goalie). I tried that once in an international and got the same score line.

I will as soon as I can, PC is not working. I use 3 DF's, 1 DMC, 1 MC arrow pointing to AMC, AMC arrow pointing to ST, AML + AMR with arrow up, and two ST's. No cheating.

I wanted to leave it out, because it'd seem much more impressive if ManCity were playing to full potential, but they did lose all of their GK's to injuries and transfers, grey ****ty GK was on the field. Still impressive, IMO.

I did what you're talking about once. World Cup Semi Final, Israel Brazil, took over Brazil, messed up their squad, won 20-0 or something like that.

People never seem to believe my FM06 screens. Same happened with that Israeli regen I found once. Best player I ever had.

Sorry it took me long, Horatiu, anyway, here (I included the attacking corner thing because over the past 2 seasons, I've had more than 30 goals through corners, so, thought it would be useful):

If you're gonna use this tactic, I'll give you some info: I always use that tactic, week in week out, had 1 red card in 2 season, and a record low of yellows, as well as record of few goals, so the 3 defenders thing isn't really a setback, especially with Essien dominating the midfield, although, most of my conceded goals do come through their wingers moving forward and then passing/crossing it in and then goal, 2nd highest goal-causing mistake seems to be simple throughballs, so watch out for that. Oh, I also use 4 playmakers in this order: 1. Robben, 2. Ronaldo, 3. Cole, 4. Lampard. During matches, I tend to take out Cole (or the wingers and put Cole in their place) and put in one of the strikers, move Drogba/Huntelaar to the middle of the striker area, and put them there, so there's 3 strikers, it assures at least another goal, but also leaves you with less posession.

Oh, the individual player instructions are (excluding DF's):
Tackling = Hard if Tackling is 15+
Forward Runs = Often for everyone
Run with Ball = Often for everyone with 15+ Dribbling
Long Shots = Often for everyone with 15+ Longshots
Through Balls = Often for everyone with 15+ Passing
Crosses = Often for everyone with 15+ Crossing

For DF's:

Tackling = See above
Forward Runs = Rarely
Run w/Ball = Rarely
Longshots = Mixed (although thinking about changing it to Rarely, since none of them have 10+ longshot)
Throughballs = Mixed
Crosses = Mixed

When the keeper got sent off a nanosecond after the game started, I was like, ****! I had only just promoted the U21 keeper to the squad, and put him on the bench just because the pundits thought he'd be crap, certain I wouldn't even use him. Didn't do too badly, the goals weren't his fault, might use him next match too, since this clinched the qualification for us. Unbelievable, England go all out in the last minutes after my equaliser, and the game wouldn't let me make tactical changes to keep them at bay, counter attack from a throwin, the striker I put in to compliment Biton so I'd have a presence upfield (who scored the equaliser) takes the ball and runs to the area, cross, goal. England looks set to miss out on qualifying after this match. Couldn't be happier. First time I ever felt like I made good decision tactically during the match.
