FM LAGS so much for me! What could be wrong? I don't think it's the computer - 2.4ghz, 512MB ram... I have no sound cache or anything.. how can I make it faster??

Dunno, did you have allot of other programs running at all?

It ran very quickly for me on an AMD Athlon 2000+XP with 256 MB Ram :hump:

downloading? usually internet usage will have a little bit affect on your cpu usage

You can raise the priority of FM in the Task Manager (ctrl, alt + del).
Right click on FM and set the priority somewhat higher.

Yes, but that means all other running processes will halt when FM is calculating something. The probability of your system crashing will rise a bit :crazyboy:

I think the speed element is a compaitability issue, report it as a bug on the football manager forum

Dunno what the problem is as it is working good for me but yeah report it just incase.

IF hes got other stuff open of course its gonna run slowish. I always play CM/FM with winamp and Firefox or Msn Open so im used to the "slowness"

Some screens load slow, while it should be done instanlty, the days are simulated fast enough, im not sure the game simulation faster than CM03/04, and finaly that 40% faster thingy was pure sh!t. If anything it's slower. Tho I think it's rather same as fast.

Agreed, nowhere near 40% faster, not even close.

on my computer id say its 20-30% faster :confused:

On our P3 866mhz / 384mb RAM ( (H):$ ) it does seem to be a lot quicker than CM0304. I play with Winamp and BitTorrent on too. :)

It's the beta demo people. SI said they're still doing optimisation and i think the gold demo will be faster.

whats the different between beta demo and gold demo? i didn't have any experience on CM demo before

the first CM i played was CM4 and it was introduce by my friend. so i never have any CM demo before. can some 1 explain to me?

The beta demo is slower, and most of the stuff that will be on the game wont be on the beta demo. The gold demo is almost the game itself, with limited features though. That's what i think.

Meh, it's quicker for me than Cm03/04, but it's only england quickstart.

No the beta basically has all the features. Obviously they are both limited to 6 months, no multiplayer, quickstarts only etc.

The beta is already around 3 weeks old and they have fixed a lot of stuff already. The beta isn't optimised and the gold demo/full game should be noticably faster.

Remember the quickstart is large database, full detail and has 2 extra English divisions, compared to old demos which were small database, and only went down to the conference.

Technically no one apart from SI are meant to distribute it (unless they have permission), which emphasises how much SI are worried how some people may perceive this as being a final version.

And as was mentioned it is full detail so some machines may struggle with that. I'll probably end up playing with full detail anyway because I want as many players in the game as possible. But for that you'll have to sacrifise some speed. Considering how big the database is I think it's worth it.

On my PC the game runs a lot faster. The pre-season took me just 3 hours 15 minutes for the 7 English leagues, where it takes me between 4 (3 leagues, 2 Holland + 1 England) and 5½ (5 leagues, England) on 03/04. I didn't change my manner of playing.

And I'm running it on the slowest processing mode too :o

No no no, full detail just means divisions that a human manager is not in are processed in less detail, you can't watch 2D highlights etc.

Any competitions you manage in, and the bigger ones like european and big internationals are full detail always though.

Database size and selected leagues effect how many players load into the game.

Slow processing just means while games are being played you can click carry on doing other things while it processes so you probably make up time that way.

I played the demo yesterday and i have to say it's pretty fast considering i was running it at the same time i was browsing at Opera. The match lagged a lil bit but it's still ok. The full game is going to be faster.
