View Full Version : Völler resigns!
Elber2k3 26-09-2004, 03:17:AM Roma coach Voeller resigns
Roma are trying to persuade Voeller to change his mind
Roma coach Rudi Voeller has resigned from his post at the Italian outfit after just 26 days in the job.
Voeller's decision comes after Roma's 3-1 loss against nine-man Bologna.
Roma director of sport Franco Baldini said: "I have invited him to reflect on this offer because he isn't responsible for the spectacle presented."
Roma have taken four points from four league games and their Champions league tie with Dynamo Kiev was abandoned after the referee was hit by a missile.
Baldini added: "I have asked him to take the decision when he is more calm but he seems unmovable."
Voeller, who quit as Germany coach following Euro 2004, took charge of Roma shortly before the start of the season after Cesare Prandelli stood down for family reasons.

1 game tied (didnt deserve that point)
1 game won (fiorentina played somewhat better)
as a coach, after a month´s work, if your team isnt responding, what else can ya do?

WilliamFAlmeida 26-09-2004, 03:35:AM how ironic and coincedential!
lets go TUESDAY!
Kibe Kru 26-09-2004, 03:38:AM being brazilian I'm quite used to the idea of a coach/manager resigning after only few days...
Corinthians' Junior only lasted for 10 days, after 2 games...
I still think it's wrong, though

Yossarian 26-09-2004, 03:42:AM I blame all of this (the poor results in the preseason, the pathetic results in the domestic league, the improper actions of the fans, Cassano's disruptions and now, Voeller's resignation) on Mrs.Prandelli's cancer.
PSVFOREVER 26-09-2004, 03:42:AM They stop pretty soon nowadays dont they :|
dannyeli 26-09-2004, 03:43:AM and here in USA that's the only game we will watch, Roma-Madrid  what a waste :kader:
peruytu 26-09-2004, 03:44:AM I don't blame Voller, he had to do it.. how can somebody work with so many pu$$ies in one team??? Thank God he left AS Vagina.
Pizarro14 26-09-2004, 03:44:AM tell me about it  man i wish The US was better at showing better stuff from europe
jigger37 26-09-2004, 03:45:AM They dont make coaches like they used to.
SB9Dragon 26-09-2004, 03:45:AM Voeller quit already? I didn't think that he would last the season but quitting this early? Wow. What is up with these coaches nowadays? They can't take the pressure?
Cuper and Zac stuck around with Inter when they got buried in BS each and every week by the media and they didn't resign
adj137 26-09-2004, 03:46:AM poor man , i feel so sorry for him, such a bunch of w-nkers in his team, what can a guy do.

Moreover, Roma now don't have to pay for the contract-breaching fee which Leeds did so many times before they got relegated.
NIDOKING 26-09-2004, 03:48:AM Those three just don't have balls, thats all
EDIT: This post was posted (>.>) before, but appear after, stupid lag, stupid city, I wanna get out of this hole, no ESPN, no Nothing, at least Bundesliga :rockman:
Yossarian 26-09-2004, 03:54:AM Good to see them teetering like this, man. To be honest, I hope this is the final nail in their coffin that'll provoke an unstoppable downward spiral that'll send 'em down a division or two......God i hate that vile, commie club...everything about 'em irks me in a wrong way, man.
SB9Dragon 26-09-2004, 03:57:AM I guess your right Yoss. Perhaps Roma will crash and burn, causing them to fall from the top tier of teams in Italy which then would cause a big sellout of the stars, especially Totti and Cassano, who would both sensationally join Inter forming the best trident in the world.
---------------Adriano------------Cassano
--------------------------Totti
Yeah that definately would be SWEET :mrpimp:

Pizarro14 26-09-2004, 04:03:AM yea thats a peruvian attitude :rockman:
Mikey 26-09-2004, 04:08:AM whats going on with Roma? a draw and loss against Lecce and Messina was bad, but there two good opponents, but Bologna?:o
Del Neri will be coaching soon in Serie A, whether its for Roma or Fiorentina.
But what was Voeller thinking with some of his selections today? Why Delvecchio over Mido and Montella. I feel very sorry for Voeller, its a shame Roma is sucking it up at the momemt. Roma-Real will be a great game tho(Y).

i just hope you dont see that happening to your wife or any close relatives

Mikey 26-09-2004, 04:36:AM ya, voeller brought a mediocre german side to final (was VERY lucky with teams he faced, but still)

YELLOW CARD and also ur a village idiot thanks :f***:
akeel 26-09-2004, 05:35:AM voller's inability to coach roma successfully proves that his style just isn't suited to italian football. he is a roma fan after all. he knew that he wasn't bringning results so for the good of the club, he resigned. bring in del neri, he was the man to replace prandelli in the first place.
slightly off topic: it won't happen, but i would love to see voller take charge of real madrid. it would spark off more rivalry between themselves and barcelona, seeing as rijkaard is coach of barca. voller and rijkaard aren't exactly best buddies! just remember when rijkaard spat in voller's hair, that was hilarious.
enigma 26-09-2004, 05:41:AM Madrid - Roma could end up being the battle of the most off-form team.
Vedran-10 26-09-2004, 06:53:AM I used to like Roma because of Batistuta but as I dislike Totti and Cassano, I can't say I'm gutted. ;)
But I can't wait for Real M. - Roma.It will be a contest on who is more out of form, who's coach lasted shorter and who's fans are more pissed off. (Y)
Seriously tho, it will be a good game.At least one cannot slaughter another. They are equally bad now and it should be quite a struggle.
I knew he would be a flop. He flopped with Germany at the Euro and he did exactly the same thing with Roma. Shame those coaches doesnt have balls, but well, i think it's better for Roma.
$teauA 26-09-2004, 07:19:AM Real Madrid vs. AS Roma what a match-up I personally can't wait, two great teams in awesome form with two very experienced and proven coaches :rockman:. Let's get it on :rockman:
mega montana 26-09-2004, 07:34:AM damn too bad if this is true
even though he had a tough task ahead of him, i thought voeller could get it done :(

Im glad that Brazil wasnt lucky, eh?
I think Völler did the right decision, i couldnt be a coach of the team like that either, if their not winning they just kick someone in the nuts and throw crap at the ref :kader:
diroix 26-09-2004, 05:16:PM maybe Del Bosque can resign from Besiktas too:crazyboy:
he only won 1 match in 7 games:confused:
Vedran-10 26-09-2004, 06:47:PM Del Bosque is at his best in Madrid.Besiktas don't suit him.
P.S.I disagree with the comments about Voller being lucky against his opponents. He wasn't that bad but I guess Roma are somewhat like Real M.Uncontrolable (Totti, Cassano maybe?) and maybe he saw a financial breakdown coming up and decided to leave the scene?
