"I am sure that he will come," Reschke said. "Anything else would be a big surprise to me. Landon is a very special player with an outstanding level, and everybody in our club -- the management, the coach, the staff and the team -- are looking forward to welcoming him here."
How much playing time would Donovan get in Germany?

"I am sure that Landon will be around 70 to 80% minimum on the field," Reschke said. "He's able to play two or three positions, and he will be an important part of the team. On Tuesday we were sitting together after the game in Kiev [a 4-2 Champions League loss] and discussing: If Landon were here, he would be in the starting XI on Saturday."
"We have great respect for American football, especially the national team. But if you are an outstanding singer, you must go to La Scala or the Metropolitan Opera. If you are an outstanding basketball player, then you must go to the States. Landon is an outstanding talent."
I hope that, for the good of American soccer and the good of Leverkusen, Donovan goes back this winter. (Y)

Donovan would be a nice replacement for Berbatov -- if he were to ever be sold, which will most likely happen. Anyway, I'm for him going back to Germany. He needs to stop whining on how much he likes the San Diego weather and just move up to the next plateau, like all of our other fellow Americans.

About time.. I was getting sick and tired of Donovan bitching about being homesick... i'm saying "be a f*cking adult already!" If he missed his incestual relationship with his sister so much, bring the bitch over to germany with him for crying out loud!

Its time for him to move on. If he wants to remain in the MLS his entire career, thats his decision, but im shocked he doesnt wanna test himself against the best players in the world. I'll be surprised if Landon comes in January. Id bet hell go to Europe (whether its for Bayer or not) after the 2006 World Cup.

The MLS will do fine without him, Adu (tho his play doesnt dictate) is the star of the league right now.

I'm going to take over as MLS star.

9 red cards, 3 refs hit, 1 goal. Those will be my stats.

My tackles will get me on sportscenter, I hit like John Lynch, only because people in soccer aren't expecting it.

Bayern Munich: now scouting Leverkusen players BEFORE they even arrive at the club.

:kader: ;)

He's best as an attacking midfielder or a withdrawn forward as Voltaic said. This year for the US national team he's been playing as an attacking right-sided midfielder in a 4-2-2-2 formation. National team coach Bruce Arena once said Donovan is so versatile, he can play any field position except central defender.
