In response to PHANTOMPHOENIX's question (http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&postid=1498302#post1498302) about the top player in the game, I began to go through all the teams and compile a list of some of the top players I found. This is by no means a complete list of players, but rather mostly players >90skill, younger players >80skill, and other notables I found. I hope I don't offend anyone by leaving their favourite player off or something like that. ;)

I really couldn't say just based on the game.

It just lists the player as "Roman", a 26 year-old CAM, right-footed. A quick search on Google says he was born 6/24/1978, so that would line up with 26 y/o...so..I'm inclined to say yes.

I took out some along the way, particularly for the top teams (I didn't think most people would want to see, say, 14 Arsenal players, just because they have a skill =>88), so I stuck to the top 4 or 5 for those teams. I'm glad to add requests though :D

I have a rather ambitious, though challenging project idea.

Would there be interest in the Fifa 2005 Community for a complete list of teams/players/overall ratings?

If so, I would start with International Teams, Serie A, Serie B, FA Premier League, then go from there based on first-come-first-served requests. This would effectively put an end to my posting small requests here (though I'd probably check in multiple times a day and add those anyway ;)), but would encompass all the teams. One plus I saw from this is that, exported from excel, the list would be sortable/searchable, which would be a big help with the lack of a search feature in the game.

Here is an example of what I'd be able to do:

In my opinion, FIFA is relying way too much on past glory or name value for some of these high ratings. After the EURO and his recent play for Real no way Zidane can justifiably be given a 96. How can Del Piero and Vieri be in the 90's after their EURO? Kahn at 94? Maybe three years ago. Beckham at 90? Keane at 91 is pretty iffy. Casillas at 94?

I understand that casual fans would be up in arms if Beckham or Zidane were sub-90. But this 5-10 point "Real Madrid" bonus some players have has got to stop. Just because they sell jerseys doesn't mean they're a 90+.

i agree, i don't mean to bring the game up here but it would be like Konami giving the Japan NT players all 90s ratings in the WE series. my point is that they don't and neither should EA. just because they are famous and alot of people know about them (hint:Beckham) doesnt mean that they should be ranked so high.

I have the xbox version, and I'm quoting the ratings of the default rosters included with the game. I'll be glad to take a picture of the t.v. for any ratings someone is saying are different ;) I see no reason why the pc or ps2 versions (if/when they are out) would be different.

I'm glad they rate Van der Sar as high as he should be rated. In FIFA 2004 he was rated at 67 (!!!!). Now it's 93:).

I really have no idea on player faces, as I don't know them well enough, but the faces all have looked generic in my Italian Serie B play so far. I'll see if I can tell any difference when I reach Serie A and face the big boys.

I don't see any way to have multiple users, no.
When you go into career mode, you select a saved game name, create your 'manager' character (put in first/last name, pick a picture), you select a region, then you get a list of teams to pick from (you can only pick one).

As I said a few times, I really wouldn't be able to tell Scholes from Giggs from Keane from Henry....okay..well..I think I could pick out Henry.. ;) But, you get the idea.

I fired up a quick match of ManU vs. Liverpool to try and get some shots for you to decide. I realize the quality isn't that great, but you should at least be able to get an idea of how it is. Imageshack isn't loading up well for me right now, so I just put them elsewhere, it's only temporary though.

To be fair, I would consider this a problem of the players being valued higher, rather than the national team itself being considered too high. That is, the team rating is just an average based on the players ratings, so the total of the National Team really won't represent it's performance as a National Team, but rather the sum of the individual performance of its members.

With that said, I don't know how good anyone really is, so I don't know what the ratings should be. ;)

I actually AM finally going out now, but I'll be back in a few hours most likely. I've managed to get ALLLLLLLL the teams themselves on my list (486, including the national teams), at least I hope that's all of them! I found a quicker method of filling in the stars/att/mid/def, so that'll help out as I'm doing that.

I'll be happy to take care of the requests (Olympiakos, one in the other thread, and whatever else is here by time I get back) later on, no problem.

Here is the full list (missing much of the stars/att/mid/def) of clubs so far, comments/corrections are welcome and encouraged:

Edit: To sort using the excel sheet, click 'A' above Leaguename, hold shift, and click 'F' above Def to hilight all the columns used. After that, right-click anywhere in the hilighted region (light blue), and go to Sort Descending, and pick a category (ex: go to Sort Descending and choose F to sort by defensive rating).

I think this'll be a handy feature when it comes to searching for transfers (plus you'll have their ovr rating staring you in the face as well ;))

I followed your second link, an i noticed that in the Rest of the world section, Panathinaicos is not included.

I supose this is a mistake?

* If you go to 'Create A New Player Face", you are given a list of 24 'templates' (generic faces) to pick from.

* You can then go to 'Edit A Current Face' and make alterations to that template (or change it completely).


Think of 'Create A New Player Face' as picking from realistic-looking, generic faces (this is what you are doing). Think of 'Edit A Current Face' (it should say 'Edit the Current Face' really...) as editing the face you just chose in "Create A...". Alternatively, you can just start with the default face and make edits on your own, or even randomize any or all of the features.

After quite a bit of time, and learning how to use an Access Database, I've completed the Team Ratings list! That is, every team, their att/mid/def #s, as well as their star designation. There are *2* 5.0/5.0 star teams in the game, and several 0.5/5.0 star teams as well. I've broken the list down into the entire world, as well as each league, to make it easier to look through.

Once again, to sort one of the lists, hilight all the columns, right click in a hilighted region, select 'Sort Ascending (or Descending...)' and click the desired column name on the list.

Please try these out, give me some feedback, let me know if anything doesn't work for you, if it does..whatever you care to tell me. Also, I put a lot of work into these, I just ask that you don't take the files and post them elsewhere without asking me for permission first (I can be reached by emailing Zhariken@gmail.com , or through the email link on the forum).

im not really wanting exact stats, but i just wanted your opinion on some of the MLS teams. in the 2004 version, the mls teams got like 1 star, maybe 1 1/2 for the best team in the league. granted the mls teams arent near as good as european clubs (and others) but geez...they arent THAT bad...to the point where i couldnt even play a season with them because they were really slow and stuff. so what i want to know this year is, besides the fact that they arent going to be like 5 star teams in MLS...are the ratings reasonable enough so that i could play a season with D.C. United and not see glaring differences? you dont have to post team ratings if you dont want, but more of a just a general answer would suffice. thanks!

I haven't played with any MLS teams, but they're all ranked 3/5, so that's not bad. The attack of most teams 70s-80 is equal to that of many teams in Premiership, France, and the Bundesliga.

great! thanks a lot for the info. about the mexican league being under the mls in ratings or whatever....the 1.5's and stuff are a little harsh, but the mexican teams have played mls teams a few times and mls has won most of them. so i would agree that the mls teams are better. a lot of people are dismissing american soccer, and rightfully so about 5 years ago, but now its getting to the point where i can actually watch an mls game on tv and not groan at how bad they suck!

youve got to understand, being a soccer lover here in the states, is like loving hockey in europe...how many times does that come on tv over there i wonder!?!? same situation here:rolleyes:

I'm assuming you're referring to the matches in the CONCACAF Champions Cup... the ones Mexican clubs send their reserves to play.

I'm not taking anything away from the US natl team, but you cant honestly believe MLS clubs (all of them in FIFA's case) are better than Mexican clubs. You guys have good players... but they (a small amount do) dont match the level of Cardozo, Chelito, Blanco and other top notch Mexican league players.

Just a quick word on player ratings as my son was one of the editors for the Scottish league.

EA give editors guidelines for player ratings and they have to stick to them which is why for example Zlatab Ibrahimovic might be more lowly rated than perhaps he should be.

Henry is better than Zidane and Figo. I also think he's better than Ronaldinho. Many people consider him to be the best player in the world. Some people think differently but you can understand why he gets such a high rating. Apart from heading what weaknesses does Henry have? If you think Henry is overrated then surely Van Nistelrooy is at his rating as well.

thast why i said i don't know how EA rated a player? individual, club performance, national performance, or overall? if you consider henry is a best player but he not really do that well in international stages.

btw, i don't really like EA rated a player with "Skills" as a overall rating. it sound like too specified. just like you telling every one that henry is 97, beckham is 90. they seems brilliant with that score but henry is not good in heading and beckham is not good in dribbling as well. if EA take away the "Skills" as overall rating. i think every one should happy with that

i rather see they rated henry by
heading: 70
acceleration: 95
shoting: 90
and etc....
than, henry skills = 97

Anyone can tell me Inter Milan's players ratings? Because i don't see Davids, Materazzi, Van der meyde and other players on the list.

Can someone please please see if Anthony Le Tallec is in the game??? He is my faviorite Liverpool youngster but i didnt see him in the liverpool ratings posted earlier. If he is in the game can you tell me his overall rating and maybe some other important ratings (pace, shooting, dribbling, etc)

It might be a little high right now but considering the fact the MLS season is ending and the great strides he has made since his frist game i dont mind it. Next MLS season (Spring-2005) he will be a much better player, stronger and faster and definatley be worth atleast 73. He will also be one of the best players in the upcoming u20 World Championship in Holland next year.
