I just got FIFA2005, and in the 'extras' there's a preview movie for FIFA Street and it says COMING SOON!!

The preview said "fifastreet.com" but the website doesn't work though :(

I think this is a great idea! I loved the NBA Street game even tho i'm not really a basketball fan.

I think it would be a good idea if they could get Nike licensing or something, because Nike seem to always be geared around tricks,skills, etc.

Yeesss, i checked its very nice. I'm not sure if these moves will have anything to do with the game though :P

I think the whole game will be about doing moves like those.

For example, the NBA street game rewards the people who do the most tricks. So then if you have enough trick points stored you can get a "gamebreaker". The gamebreakers then mean that you can score a goal which then takes off a goal from the other team. When it comes to the higher difficulty gamebreakers are real important. I can imagine it being the same in FIFA. If it's anywhere near the quality of NBA street it will be great.

I think This FIFA Street will not be made by the EA division who made the FIFA series. (Eg. FIFA 2004, FIFA 2005)
It's made by EA Big which have made games like NFL Street, SSX 3....etc

Now that suburban court looks like the courts in my country.

one thing about the screenshots. why would people playing street soccer play in the same coloured tracksuit?

i think that in the real game players should have torn jeans, shirts, t-shirts, hoodies, etc.. and then thier shirt is the same colour of their team so its more authentic

imagine beckham wearing a bandanna, lampard has a baseball cap and Raul wearing a beanie. it would be alot better than players wearing tracksuits

Yeah. Madden's a good game. The reason u refuse to believe a game by EA can by any good is just because of one division of EA. {The guys in Canada who makes FIFA) IMO, just because of one game u can't condem the whole thing. The Rugby series by EA are one of the worst games.

I think the gameplay will be nothing like FIFA 2005... this will be more arcade, faster, more dynamic... etc
I also believe that this game will rock... it'll be one of the best of the year, in terms of sport thing.

And even if it did have the SAME gameplay as FIFA 2005, it will still be good, at least to me... I enjoy playing FIFA 2005, actually it's the only FIFA game I've been enjoyed for a while.

Too bad I don't have any consoles, I think EA fuçked that up, they should realase a PC version too, I can't see what stops them to do that....

I doubt this game will have the same gameplay as FIFA 2005. Since this is made by a different EA division. I'm definitely going to buy the game. (Since I got a PS2) I don't mind if it comes out for the PC Cause most likely there will be online too if it comes out for the PC.

I think Fifa street is going to be a hit. It will take you away from anything like FIFA or PES since its primarily based on individual skill rather than the usual team effort. I can't wait to see a game that's for once focused on skill since it is extremely limited in PES and even though EA improved the skill in FIFA it still needs some more work. Plus, a lot of the stars grew up playing in the streets. Finally someone recognized the importance of street soccer. Thank you EA big:D

NBA Street games have been really classy and fun to play so if the development team of this game is the same, it's a guaranteed hit..

I can't wait for this game either. It will be a nice compliment to the more traditional FIFA games. I think I'll have more fun with it, feel freer to try different things. I also like the setting: much less oppressive than the big, homogeneous stadium setting. At the end of the day, the street, the yard, the beach is where the game is born, where real players are born...

the reviewer received an early version of the game. I'll state some of the news for the people that can't read dutch :p

The main modes are supposedly the same as are in the other EA street games. I've never played other street games but I guess it's gonna be practise mode & a career mode.

there is a 'create a player option' so you can make your own star (tony hawk style :p )

There are multiple tricks including the 360 and 'panna' (ball through the legs)
Del Piero and Henry can be heard in the game
there is no referee


so that's pretty much it.. there is a lot of focus on gameplay so I hope it doesn't get boring after a week (H)

And you can create your own players.
FIFA Street have licensed Adidas, Nike, and Reebok. :D

The gameplay is good, with much panna's, Zidane move, and many more.

GameBiz: Can you tell us about the Career Mode in FIFA Street and the other game play modes available?

Raymond Lee: In career mode, you start out by creating your character and entering the world of street ball with a junior team. Raymond Lee: For FIFA Street, we wanted the gameplay to be a real reflection of street football. GameBiz: Who are some of the soccer stars we can play?

GameBiz: Ok, we know it's in the streets. But what streets will we play in? (Localities)

You have a variety of ways to finish a move – from going around, over the top, using the nearby walls, or by brining it home with a humiliating nutmeg.

GameBiz: Will we be rewarded for flare and style?

Raymond Lee: The gameplay revolves around moves and skills performed one-on-one. Showing skill and style while beating your mark will net you points towards your gamebreaker meter. Showing street attitude with the ball and letting your opponent know where they stand is what the game’s about.

GameBiz: Do you have a killa move for FIFA Street? And what is it?

Raymond Lee: Anything that’s a nutmeg because that’s what street ball’s all about – create a style that’s effective at scoring goals as it is a means to humiliate your opponent.

GameBiz: So in FIFA Street we can pull off some really tricky moves, explain to us the GameBreaker move.

Raymond Lee: In FIFA Street you are rewarded for style and flare, so when you start chaining together combos you start gaining points towards the gamebreaker meter. Once the meter maxes out, you can at any point in the game initiate an extremely powerful kick – the gamebreaker move. The point is to gain a clear line of sight on goal, because the gamebreaker move CAN be deflected by the opposition defensemen if they get in the way. So the gamebreaker is by no means a silver bullet, you still have to work for it.

GameBiz: Like NFL Street 2, will walls play an part in FIFA Street?

Raymond Lee: Some of us have termed the wall as the fifth man, and that’s because in FIFA Street you can flick the ball off a convenient piece of nearby architecture to your awaiting teammate, who can finish with a spectacular juggle and overhead or with a cheeky shot off the shoulder. The whole idea is to pull off obscene moves, score amazing goals and make your friends jaw drop to the ground.

GameBiz: What online modes will there be for the Xbox and PS2?

Raymond Lee: Unfortunately there will be no online mode available for FIFA Street on any platform.

GameBiz: NFL Street certainly looks impressive, what can you tell us about the graphics engine?

Raymond Lee: FIFA Street utilizes custom character and environment lighting for all three platforms. Basically, we’ve created a custom character and environment lighting code for each platform separately. The results, dramatic environment and unique character lighting unseen before in a sports game.

GameBiz: Anything else you would like to add?

Raymond Lee: Yea, the cool thing about FIFA Street is that you’re able to do things pros would never attempt in a real match. It’s just as rewarding to score a goal as it is to go back and nutmeg the defender again just to prove your skills are that much better. I’ve played football for a long time, but the moves we’ve got in this game are OBSCENE! You’ll watch these moves and realize they’re REAL moves. Not fantasy, not stuntmen on wires – FIFA Street is football passion dialed up to 11 and it’s going to change what you think is possible with a football!

Five very quick questions. First thing which comes to your mind.

GameBiz: The EA Sports Street franchise is growing; can we expect a MLB Street in the coming year?

Raymond Lee: Almost all professional sports games today evolved from a street environment. Some has deeper roots than others, so it’s a possibility but then again who knows? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

GameBiz: What are your thoughts on the PSP and DS?

Raymond Lee: They’re both awesome in their own rights. One thing’s for sure, handheld gaming just took a giant step in the right direction. It will definitely be an interesting battle as we see the type of games both of them can offer.

GameBiz: PS2 or Xbox, which do you prefer?

Raymond Lee: Xbox

GameBiz: What's your favorite game? Raymond Lee: Generally I love any football game, but at the moment I’m really enjoying NBA Street.

can't see that far on the screenie obviously, but it seems to me that they are making shoes that LOOK like they are adidas and nike, but without the logos..

for exaple the nike shoes i saw on another screenshot looked just like total 90 ones, but without the swoosh, and the preds probably have 2 stripes or something

there HAS to be online! All EAs sports games from this year on have been ONLINE! EA are throwing us manure and we arent resisting to eat it.. look at the Champions League demo and that nazi who said it wasn't in development(Luke or whatever). Don't be sure of anything with this interview.

yes there is a creation center. It has a large list of things that you can change, plus you can use licensed apparel

When starting out the season mode you have to create a player. Its the type of game where you start out as noone and become someone if you get what i mean. You can edit close and stuff but it says logos cannot be put on branded apparel which means you cant put adidas on nike

If you create a team you can edit all their clothes, even have them wear Nike or Adidas products. I'm not so sure if you can edit an already existing jersey...

I know there are at least THREE different types of balls, one being a blue nike aerow, another an adidas black and white ball ( i think its the same as FIFA's), and an orange and black ball (On fifastreet.com in the USA section under teams, the Nigerian player is holding it.) I don't know if you can choose what one to use
