this is without a doubt the best result for macedonia on home soil!!!

I don't think that Macedonia played that great, they just played smart. They heavily defended the sides so that Kuyt and Castelen couldn't do sh*t. They played agressive and at times it looked like some of the players couldn't keep up with the tempo and pressure (Sneijder, Bouma). We couldn't find the free man and we misssed some individual actions that would've made the difference. If there's one person we missed tonight it was van der Meyde. I don't know why van Basten didn't select him. Castelen was crap today but I don't blame him. And Makaay reminded me why I'm not his biggest fan. He came in voor van Hooijdonk and was invisible. We love you to death, Roy but Oranje's not your thing. To be honest, he's pissing me off by scoring 2 times for Bayern every single game and underperforming for Oranje. One more problem: in the 2nd half, the midfield didn't connect and our defense was playing like a lazy bunch of teenagers. Whenever Macedonia would go on the attack the midfield wouldn't connect. I expect that of Seedorf but not of the likes of Seedorf or Sneijder.

Finland on Wednesday. Basically the same deal but a bit tougher and more individual quality. They've got 9 points out of 3 games. They won 3-1 today. Both Macedonia and Finland are just very annoying teams to play against. They're like bees. You know you're much stronger but they can sting you. When they sting you more than once, you're f*cked.

I think Macedonia can win, a winner late in the game to win 2-1. Hollan are very tough, Macedonia is also a tough team to beat. Romania struggled and won late in the game so i think Macedonia will do the same to the dutch.

Makaay needs to get used to his players next to him. When he came to Bayern he didn't score in the first month at all.

Anyhow, he came in the 2nd half and he just didn't exist. You make a good point that he has to get used to playing internationally. When? It's not like we can experiment for the next 4 WC-qualifying matches. Ruud's back from his suspension, Kluivert is back. We also got Kuijt and van Hooydonk. All Makaay has to do is score. It wasn't that hard for him two weeks ago in Munchen.

I agree with you on VdM. He's been magical with Inter lately and he deserved to be picked despite his horrible EURO 2004 performance. Castelen was terrible and VdM should've taken his place.

Cocu played CB with De Jong. Davids and van Bommel aren't defensive midfield-players. Because our backs are very offensive, we play with 2 CBs and one defensive midfielder. And the 2nd half we played with only 3 defenders.
and is it Kuyt or Kuijt? Ive seen both. I think the "official" version is Kuijt. I don't think it matters; Cruyff has two different spellings too.

You can't compare the Dutch NT with Bayern. I have to repeat myself, it took him a month to adapt to our game until he finally scored his first goal.

In the nt he always has at least one forward next to him, sometimes even. That's not his game. Bayern usually play with Pizarro as a second striker but he's just there to work in the offensive midfield and help out on the defensive end. Makaay can fully concentrate on the offense and counter attacks. The whole Bayern game is based on him.

That's not the glorious style Holland use to play so he's pretty much useless and he can be given a German passport and play for us instead. (H)

1. Don't drag me into a race discussion by saying "Do you think us macedonians are racist?". I'm sure you're not racist, but some in the crowd were. It doesn't take a genius to understand what the crowd means when they're making jungle sounds whenever a black player is on the ball. The Dutch F.A. filed an official complain and UEFA will look into it.

Adding to that, I wasn't just talking about Macedonia, I was talking about eastern European/Balkan countries where these things happen more often.
