Your home country doesn't counts. Where would you like to watch a WC live, and why?

Andorra. They don't have any stadiums, but they do have cheap cigarettes, so that would console my disappointment for not seeing any WC action.

Would be nice to see them squeeze the WC into Singapore. Haha. Would be pretty damn funny if you ask me.

I myself haven't been to Highbury yet, looking to go there this December, though! Heh!

Trying to get tickets to the Rosenborg game.

actually they have a stadium. The Aixovall Comunal with 1500 seats. I already saw a match of the andorran league live in that great cathedral :) The Andorran NT plays there too.

I would love to see Australia host a World Cup, but with all those oval shaped stadiums (MCG, Gabba, SCG, Telstra Dome, Subiaco et al.), I would have a tough time following the action. It has also been a lifelong dream of mine to spend an extended period of time in Australia (at least six months to a year).

Brazil would be cool, Argentina too, The Vatican - no doubt and I think that if Turkmenistan would ever be good enough to qualify a world cup there would be great. There president is just wacky enough to make it happen, he's like Kim Jung Il but not as bad, I think...

Anyway... North Korea?, Jan Mayen?, Palau? New Caledonia?

Other than Australia of course, I'd say England. It's been a long time, being the home of football and all, they deserve it.

But Australia could hold it, easily. I mean, we've got, for stadiums:

Brisbane - Suncrop Stadium 50,000
Brisbane - The Gabba 30,000
Sydney - Aussie Stadium 42,000
Sydney - Telstra Stadium 83,000
Canberra - Canberra Stadium 36,000
Melbourne - Telstra Dome 52,000
Melbourne - MCG (Revamped) 100,000
Adelaide - Hindmarsh 20,000
Perth - Subiaco - 40,000

Those would be the major stadiums, with the MCG or Telstra to hold the final, probably lean towards Telstra Stadium despite the smaller capacity, the shape can be changed to better accomodate a rectangular field and it's Sydney is more easily marketted than Melbourne, not to mention the majority of Aust. Footballers come from Sydney and it's surrounds.

There are also smaller venues for some of the smaller group matches:

Sydney - Parramatta Stadium 22,000
Melbourne - Olympic Park 20,000
Adelaide - Adelaide Oval 21,000
Wollongong - WIN Stadium 18,000

That's a total of 13 stadiums, and who's to say that we could not joint host with NZ, I mean, that will add 3-4 stadiums to the list.

Australia has proved themselves time and time again, Sydney 2000, RWC 2003 and the Commonwealth Games in 2006.

Mexico because the two best WC ever have been played there in the LEGENDARY
Estadio Azteca in Mexico 70 and the best
ever Mexico 86.

Also the best two soccer players have been Champions there Pele and Maradona
:rockman:

BUT since I can't choose Mexico I have to with the U.S.A. so I can watch all the matches and even go to some of them

Ruben Sosa
13-10-2004, 08:03:AM
Since I can't choose Uruguay, I think Australia might be a nice place to host it.

I dunno... if it's at home, they might win it, which means we'll shut their media up for at least 4-years about their 'miserable WC record'.

Hendrik
13-10-2004, 08:42:AM
If they win it the media will be all over it for the next 100 years.

I'd actually like to see Canada host one, it's a nice country that needs alot of help making the game more popular. They have the funds to make it happen.

Mexico has had it, USA has had it and unless theirs a joint bid than no other CONCACAF nation could pull it off.
