View Full Version : Brasil - Colombia [P & R] WC Qualifier
Brazilian_god 12-10-2004, 10:45:PM Yeah.
This game is played tomorrow (Oct 13).
Kaka will be missing through suspension, Alex will probly replace him.
Adriano will also probly start off bench again, since brasil will play with same squad then saturday exept Kaka. Not 100% sure yet though.
I hope we can smack something like 5-0 since its our home match.
Just play Adriano and Ronaldo with Gaúcho behind them.
acmilan101 12-10-2004, 11:13:PM 4-1 Brazil.
remember.. you heard it here first. :)
WilliamFAlmeida 12-10-2004, 11:33:PM I thin Parreira should start Adriano instead of Alex......
skull 13-10-2004, 01:01:AM Brazil 0 - Colombia 0 :) remember last wolrd cup qualifier in Brazil finished Brazil 1 Colombia 0 with a goal scored on injury time .. so hold on to your pants with that 5-0 ;)
In the last world cup qualifier we were in a crisis, and we didnt play Ronaldo, Ronaldinho Gaucho, and stuff like that. Now we're in a very good mood with a better team.
I'm prediciting a 3-1.
Hendrik 13-10-2004, 01:11:AM Can anyone post the lineup for Brasil? Thanks.
Probably :
-------------Dida-------------
Cafú----Juan---R.Junior---Carlos
-----------Renato-----------
--Juninho------------Zé Roberto-
-------------Ronaldinho-------
-----------Ronaldo---------------
Atlas 13-10-2004, 01:45:AM Brasil 5-1 Colombia

LOCOlombia 13-10-2004, 01:48:AM home? isn't Brasil at home almost anywhere, damn they killed Venezuela, hopefully we won't be next, we're almost dead anyway, hopefully Yepes, IvaRa, Perea, and Bedoya will hold out for 90+ minutes.

No pretty even so far, although brazil has come close to score in one ocasion, Colombia only had one free kick while Brazil had three... Colombia still in a defensive mood, while Brazil can't find their way inside Colombia's zone.. :)
skull 14-10-2004, 09:06:AM Adriano comes in for Alex min 13 2nd half - game still 0-0
Hamilton 14-10-2004, 09:12:AM God I can't believe Ronaldo missed that...
skull 14-10-2004, 09:19:AM Brazil has had two clear chances one hit the pole.. Colombia starting to look kinda cornered and lucky at the same time...
Hamilton 14-10-2004, 09:20:AM ACtualy Adriano's shot was a goal :P the linesmen just didn't properly see it .
claupastore 14-10-2004, 09:23:AM yup
and it was a goal by far, its not like it was right in the line or something like that
skull 14-10-2004, 09:26:AM Min 35 2nd half Brazil 0 - Colombia 0
emmer 14-10-2004, 09:43:AM they can't play well against strong teams? ****.
fender 14-10-2004, 09:45:AM Colombia defended well, Ronaldo definently should have converted the chance he had when the keeper was caught way out of position, Adriano's disallowed goal is just :| its not even open for dispute.
The way Cordoba defends at set pieces is like he's taking part in wrestling. :| Lost money backing Brazil. :(

That's right I predicted it... Brazil couldn't pull the one they pulled in the last WC qulaifiers when they beat us 1-0 with an injury time score...
Good final score for Colombia.. and those that predicted 5-0s and 4-1s I laugh at you
Lets go Colombia we still alive :rockman:
Brazil 0- Colombia 0 in brazil... ;)
acmilan101 14-10-2004, 09:48:AM (N)
Brazil should put these types of matches away. I bet if Argentina had won they'd have come out and won.
LOCOlombia 14-10-2004, 09:54:AM ok good for you.

parreira should have put adriano since the beggining instead of alex

no man, I didn't mean it like that, I was kinda expecting to lose, I mean, it is Brazil, now that the game is over I feel better....I know you didn't mean anything, and neither did I. :crazyboy:
acmilan101 14-10-2004, 09:27:PM :o OH MY GOD! Adriano and Brazil were horribly robbed of victory. Adriano's shot CLEAR AS CRYSTAL crossed the line, it could have passed 4 lines it was so far in.
South America needs to improve their referees, they're f-cking idiots, if this decision is anything to base my judgment on.
Brazilian_god 14-10-2004, 10:00:PM Brazil coach Parreira saddened by defensive Colombia
MACEIO, Brazil, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said he was saddened by Colombia's defensive attitude as they held the world champions to a goalless draw in Wednesday's World Cup qualifier.
"For anyone who has seen some of the fine moments of Colombian football, it's sad to see a Colombian team without any intention of attacking," he said.
"They're a technically gifted team, the keep possession well, they stopped us getting the ball and it got very frustrating.
"When one team doesn't want to play, you don't have a game.
"We tried everything we could and couldn't break down their blockade. Their target was a point and they got it."
The result kept Brazil top of the 10-nation South American qualifying group but was of immense frustration for the crowd at the King Pele stadium following Saturday's emphatic 5-2 win in Venezuela.
Brazilian media had predicted another big score but Colombia, fielding a 4-5-1 formation, reduced Brazil to a handful of chances.
"We tried to win the game and perhaps we took too many risks," Parreira said.
"Their fullbacks didn't go up to attack and they waited for us to make a mistake, which didn't happen."
Parreira also criticised Uruguayan referee Jorge Larrionda for allowing rough play.
"The referee didn't prevent violence," he said.
"They were two or three fouls early on which should have been given yellow cards but weren't and that gave Colombia an incentive to mark us very roughly."
Ronaldo, who had two good chances to add to his total of nine goals in the qualifiers, said Brazil controlled the game.
"We were unlucky," he said. "We didn't manage to score."
"They never put us in danger and we created several chances. We dominated the whole game."
acmilan101 14-10-2004, 10:04:PM I'm suprised he didn't mention the disallowed goal.

Yea theres no doubt the referees messed up, the Yepes goal was legit too, he wasn't offsides when the ball was played, and it was a Brazilian defender that headed the ball back to him. Both goals were legit......
All in all, we deserved something from the game but couldnt score. The referee screwed us up, as they did with Colombia too, so that's a draw anyway. If we had to complain about something, it needs to be about ourselves, and not the referee.
Ronaldinho hogged too much on the ball, and Ronaldo missed some opportunities that he shouldnt.
Bummy_JaB 15-10-2004, 02:01:AM WOW!!!! Good result for us. Man we need to pick up things offensively. Our leading scorer I think is Grisales and he is not even a forward.
Its make or break against Bolivia. If we beat them we have a chance of going to the world cup. If we loose or tie I think we are out.
acmilan101 15-10-2004, 02:07:AM I jut saw Ronaldo's miss. :o That is very unlike him, he should've dribbled it onto his right foot and clinically buried the shot. Instead he used his less accurate left foot and kicked it into the advertisements.
